These guys actually know the value of the h2. I bought mine essentially new, fully stock. Had for it years and yes I’ve taken care of it but I’ve also pushed it.
Never had a single problem.
Off-roading, snow, rain,
pavement, you name it. Being all stock.
Even after the mods I stuck on it, like bars, tires, subs etc.
Tows my boat and trailer home
just fine.
Average MPG is 12
Remember it’s not a Jeep, it’s not a Range Rover, it’s not a Truck.

Jeeps, been around since 1941 and still being made hummers... although good for military needs, introduced to the public in 1992 and no longer in production. Over rated , gas drinking pieces of crap. I’ve seen used Hummers for sale for 12,000. Seen used jeeps in the high teens low 20,000. Hmmm... wonder why that is? Also Jeep is one of the few vehicles being produced that still holds its values years later. Don’t be a hater because you can’t afford a Jeep, boys. These odd races are fun to watch. My first car was a 1994 Hyundai excel. Had 81hp. I raced everyone with that car. Never won, but still had fun.

I an simply amazed that a WRANGLER will cost nearly 50k. WTF? Not a Jeep guy but that's ridiculous. I remember pricing out a Grand Cherokee for fun 3 years ago and a nicely equipped one was about 40k.
You're talking about a fully loaded Rubicon, not some stripped down Wrangler from 1986. The resale value of the Wrangler doesn't lie.
My 2007 Grand Cherokee was over 46k before taxes when it was new.

I have a Hummer H2 a BMW X3 and a Ford Mustang... but I have owned a Jeep CJ7 and 3 Jeep Cherokees and all were good vehicles. I gotta let all the Hummer haters out there know it is one of the most comfortable good driving vehicles I have ever owned, I love it and I am a painting contractor and use the X3 as my "work truck" and it is fast, safe and fun to drive
Should of raced with the 2008 or 2009 h2. Those years have the 6.2L with a 6 speed auto trans.

It would be much more interesting. This H2 with 6.0L Vortec does 0-100 in ±11.5 seconds. But the 6.2L can do it under 8 seconds! That's ridiculous for truck of this size.

I'm still loving all the JL content. Once I see more about the diesel JL, my GTI will be gone in a heartbeat. Especially living in the desert, I'd love to have another wrangler. Keep up the content! Thank you!

Take the Hummer and the BMW on offroad. There you will find only the bumper of the BMW.
The 35i does zero to 60 in 5.5 seconds and clocks 150 mph. I think that dusts any American product. My x3 28i is the naturally aspirated 3.0L in-line 6; gets 33mpg on the highway and can get up to sixty at 6.7 seconds. I love it. Would never get another Jeep, GM, or any other product before I got a BMW.

The Hummer has all wheel drive all the time which requires more lag on take off verses a liter newer jeep that was in 2 wheel drive . i would have liked to see them put the jeep in 4 wheel drive and try the race again . the jeep probably would have still won but not by as much LOL . Still a nice video guys .
Around the track the X3 would have been 5 seconds faster. I love both the X3 and the Wrangler in two completely different ways.

Good video even though it was obvious who was going to be first second and last, especially since I have a 2004 Hummer H2 and a 2006 BMW X3 and before I bought my BMW I test drove a 2001 I6 wrangler, among other small 4x4s

@E P Yes, but turbo engines lose a lot less at altitude than n/a motors, so the 2.0 Jeep may actually do a lot better.
Love the races. Hopefully we’ll get to see the rematch when you guys test the turbo Wrangler. The Wrangler is the only one of the 3 I’d want to own though.
I agree with Nathan, best on the planet. I own or have owned both jeep and hummer and have had an H1 as an assigned “daily work driver”. Jeep. Is. The. Best. :)
They're coming out with a 4 cylinder with a single turbo in the JL soon
the best use of that Hummer is to strip it for parts. Then use the 6.0 LS motor to swap in to a Wrangler... lots of JK owners have done it and swap kits are relatively cheep. as for the BMW... well I don't really have a use for one.
They focus too much on speed and bells and whistles instead of reliability and total cost of ownership. I still like the videos.

What happens to the time if the jeep is in 4H instead of 2H? Wouldnt it have better traction off the line? Is the drive ratio different?

I suspect you're right and if you're using them on the trail on murs, gmrs, or frs the power is too high making them illegal for use except in an emergency or on the ham bands.

Thanks for pointing this out. I saw the one he is holding in the promo spot and clicked straight to the sight. I sure looks like a Baofeng and it has the same specs. Not legal for use in USA with out a license. The Baofeng UV-5R is not a bad little handy for the price, I own two of them, but I also took the time to study and pass the FCC test.
The jeep costs 55K to 60K that's too expensive.

I believe the Sahara has Selec-Trac and I thought it would better at launch to distribute power to the wheels that have grip.

Im in my mid 20's and wanted to get an SUV because I feel car's are too small, and I had a pick up truck wich felt like a boat. Most young guys my age go for a pimped out jeep wrangler. I test drove 2 of them and while I love the boxy shape and off-road capabilities, it just felt very sluggish to drive. The transmission wasn't very smooth, sharp turns felt like I was going to tip the car, and it didn't have much acceleration. I went and test drove an Acura RDX, and yes I was impressed, but I've seen so many moms driving the RDX that I couldn't get past that. I went to BMW to test drive the X3. Initially I was going for the X3 M40i, which a new one was out of my price range so I was looking at an older pre owned one. It was extremely fast, handling was superb, but I did find it to be rather stiff when I was cruising at low speeds on rough city roads. The BMW dealer said that if comfort was a priority, then I should test drive a new 2021 model which was the 30i variant with standard suspension. I would be getting a new car with warranty, better options and newer tech at a lower price than the M40i. I really thought I was going to get into it and not be impressed, I've always had a V6 engine. The 4 cylinder really impressed me. I was shocked as to how quick it picks up, and how easy I can hit 125km/h on the highway without even realizing it. Also a much smoother overall ride that felt very similar to my moms mercedes SUV. Between the X3 30i, RDX, and Wrangler, the X3 30i and the RDX drove very similar but the X3 felt a little more dynamic. The X3 was the most expensive out of the 3 options which was the only bullet to bite, but thus far has been a pleasure to drive. Although I see majority of young men my age driving wrangler's, and a lot of older dads driving an X3, I just find the X3 to be easier to get in and out of, smoother to drive, and overall just more practical for comfortable daily commuting. Young men my age should really start looking at the BMW X1/X2/X3, I think they're great cars for the price.
For me Excursion is the best. It has roomiest interior, it is super safe & it is very reliable.
H2 is not to race. It is to go over other vehicles :)

The JL looks surprising elegant in that color, it's got an upscale feel with out being gaudy. Some old Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge did not pull off.

I think the wrangler might have a closer chance of beating the BMW if you shed some weight from it. Get a 2-door and remove the doors, top, and rear seat. Putting the windshield down might even help.

They didn't just borrow a Hummer, they purchased the one in the video, so that's why they have it for these drag races.

H2 08-09 would beat them both with around 7.1 to 7.5 sec 0-60mph! These H2 hating videos are non-sense.
We could not really afford to buy a 08-09 Hummer. Plus the 6.0L V8 is a great workhorse if an engine.
I wish they would of used a newer H2.

I don't see a problem with driving a Jeep on street tires when you're on the street. You can always have a second set of wheels and tires for off road. I mean you wouldn't want to drive in the snow on summer tires either. So you change them.

You should have tested how much it would have slowed the H2 down to TOW the Wrangler through the course.
I would have the Jeep no question the Hummer is horrid apart from the engine. BM need to find a new direction with their styling they have been building same car for years apart from the tech.
