Check the serial number and it may be allegeable to a free shutter replacement due to the recall.

My D750 literally got swept away down the river after my dog bumped/ran into my tripod and the whole thing gone. After that, I completely switched up to Fujifilm. I've been itching for a full frame dslr for couple of months now and ended up buying the Canon 5D classic with a 50mm 1.8 lens. Looking forward to that when it arrives on Friday! I did enjoy taking pictures with the D750 but in retrospect, that camera started to bore me. 😁🤪 Perhaps my dog's rambunctiousness was a blessing in disguise.

i still have my D750. i use it alongside my A7r3. images are great. i just did a club event with the D750 and 24-120/4 + 50/1.4. battery life is fantastic. handling works for me. enjoy the new-old tool. thumbs up.

Have loved the D750 for years and I don't see any reason to change...quality results are hard to beat....great video...!

I stayed away from that camera because of the shutter issues, hopefully when they replace the shutter it is a new shutter design.

It's funny. I started watching your vids because I was switching to Sony after many years on Nikon.
I like this idea. Keep a little bit of the past. I might pick up a D700. Although I too used D750s for years, the D700s were the bodies I used for a good few years when I was still new to weddings. Might pair it with the old 24mm 1.4 G to see how o get on with that focal length too

I really like your perspective on this case. I bought a canon 1dxii last year which is a camera from 2016. I am in love with it and it fulfils al my needs for a camera. I also loved it when you said that you could shoot a wedding on this and no one would know!!! This is exactly how i feel when all these new cameras are being released.

I was using my D750s for weddings until just a year ago when I switched to the A7iv. It was the best wedding camera for years! My second shooter still uses them.

I recently did the same thing, purchased a used d750 and the nikon 58mm 1.4 for $1000. I too started with the d750 and the feeling it brings back is lovely.

Nice story! On that note I am moving to Auckland around August this year. I've been working professionally in photo + video in the Cayman Islands for 6 years and though the work is here really good me and my wife feel like a change of scenery and like the idea of moving to NZ. I have similar kit to you, A7IV, FX3, 35GM, Tamron 17-28 etc, would be great to meet for a coffee once I'm there.

That was also my first camera I used for my first wedding in 2015, if I remembered right, they even compared the IQ the same to the D3 at the time.

    • @MannyOnePointFour
      @MannyOnePointFour Год назад

D700 and D3 shared the same sensor I believe. D3 was the pro body with faster fps although D700 fps could match the D3 by adding the battery grip.
D750 was next gen so would have had a better sensor - certainly more res and probably better DR too. Unless you’re thinking D3X which maybe compared to the D750. Pretty sure they’re all Sony sensors anyway. D750 in some ways was a step up from the D700, but in some ways was a step down too. D700 was the OG - even at only 12mp.

Damn! I don't know what it is .. I just love to watch/ listen to your videos.
And today you really got me with that "tribute" reference. That was very awesome. Thanks for that.
The D750 is awesome.. still used it until a couple weeks ago.
    And keep uploading!
Hope to see some more shootings BTS .. Love those.

The Nikon D750 was also the camera that really helped me start my wedding journey as well as my photography career in general. It will always be one of my favourite cameras. Surprisingly the 1080 video footage looks really good too. Just no focus peaking etc. Can’ wait to see some photos you take with it.

@@MannyOnePointFour Oh for sure! Manual focus all the way. The autofocus would be good for maybe initial focus but that's it lol.

I had to laugh when you said that you hadn't had a new camera in a long time, the Sony's you use were only released 2 years ago, I'm still using my 5 D4's, but love a vibe camera though, mine is a Nikon F4s, keep'em coming.

I just sold my D750 for a A7R5. Great camera served me well for 9 years.
You can get your shutter replaced for free buy Nikon because there was a design fault - I had mine replaced after about 6 years, there was nothing wrong with it but someone gave me a heads up on it, mine was also a grey import - so look into it

Btw, I have nikon d7000 + 28 1.8 g lens, still use it a lot for product photography. This workhorse combo capable for really good photos. Enough resolution and details.
Though any of Sony a7 series with a small prime are top choice for a workaround camera in terms of quality and size

D750 was a bad boy camera. Had one for a few years after my D700. One thing I’ll never miss about DSLR though is having to AF fine-tune every lens - fu*k that off. Third party lenses (I remember my Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art) used to back-focus horrendously especially with flash. Mirrorless all the way man.

I use R5, but I still have D750. I would say d750 have cleanest blacks comparable to popular a7iii when it came out. closes to d750 another good one was 5d mkiii, there is one on trademe very low shutter count thinking to buy it.
