I saw an interview w/ Geddy once, discussing Rush cover bands and the topic of Geddy's voice being the hardest part of Rush to cover came up - to which Ged replied _'sometimes I can't do Geddy"_ Very excellent cover here! Well done 👏👏
I'm one of the most hired keyboard players in Chicago for over 30 years. I've toured over the world. I want to say, I really love you guys and appreciate what you are doing. You make my heart sing. Thank you
A most worthy cover! I am a true Rush geek and this one my favourites. Despite a few missing percussionary fills (but who expects you to have a 44 piece drum kit including tubular bells, a rack of cowbells and a rock star’s credit account) this is one awesome replica. Your musicianship is 100% spot on!
Great performances like these is why I consider myself one of the lucky humble mortals to, not only have walked the earth with the majestic Rush, but saw them live in concert.
Wow!! Brings a tear to me eye, literally. These kids are so young and appreciate Rush. Girls voice is fantastic. What's so amazing is Rush is a three piece and no three piece band can cover them. Not even dream theater! I love it ❤️
Awesome job!!! I'm 54 and I rocked this song way back in the day. I have hope for our future after seeing you young people cover this song. I really enjoyed this!! Keep rocking, and love her voice!!!
One of the HARDEST Rush songs to cover......and you NAILED IT!!!! Holy shitballs, Batman!!!!! Geddy, Alex and Neil would be so proud!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 The female singer is HOT too ❤️ One of.....if not the BEST Rush cover I have ever seen and I have been a fan for 38 yrs!!!!
Great job, Back in the 7th grade for the morning bus ride to school some kid had this song and Cygnus x-1 on cassette and would play these two songs for the whole ride in every day......even when the batteries were dying ....great times 🤣
Watching Rush covers makes you realize just how talented Rush is. Will never see that level of creativity and musicianship packed into one band ever again.
Well... My mother introduced me to Rush since my birth. I'm 36 now and introducing my twins to Rush and that's how the chain goes. These band mates may have been born around the Test for Echo era.
Wow. Just watched your Limelight and Red Barchetta video. Blown away. The level of talent in this band is nothing short of amazing. Geddy, Alex, and Neil would be proud knowing that their music has touched so many generations. Not easy songs to learn and you just keep nailing them spot on.
From the first notes until I saw it your faces - I knew this was going to be tribute of love. I am writing this before I have seen it all the way through and I already know that you appreciate this band and it's transcending genre. Welcome to the family! We all know where we were at and who we were with when we heard the first RUSH song that endeared them into our lives forever - regardless of what that song was or when it was first heard. You have captured that here. Thank you. I hope you make your own way but tagging along the coattails of RUSH and making them proud of your tribute to them is not a bad way to start if you ask me. Stay the course. This is why I say: "Long live RUSH! May your music forever echo into eternity!"
Hearing this glorious cover of Xanadu two years ago brought me back to my "Rush days" in which I discovered the "lost albums" from the late 1980s and 1990s that so many of us missed while we were having kids and living life. I listened to so much Rush in my youth, and after MDW rekindled that flame I started listening again. And now we hear of Neil Peart's death, and all these tributes resonate even more. We will miss Neil who never compromised on his art or his beliefs. He was an avowed atheist, a "bleeding heart libertarian," a poet, an intellectual, and a staggeringly great musician. Neil's music will always live on.
I have been a fan of Rush since 1978. I have played the song Xanadu on the guitar by myself, and along with the band, thousands of times. I have heard several Rush cover bands over the years. Something I have always noted about any Rush cover, is that whoever the singer is who is attempting to sing like Geddy Lee... will hit the correct note that get Easley will sing but, will either add in vibrato, or will add in too much feeling, or soul. Geddy Lee sings with mechanical precision. NO FEELING. Its his style. Love him or hate him, that's the way Geddy Lee sings. I LOVE GEDDY... and I am a lifelong fan of RUSH. The young lady singing this sacred song has accomplished this feat. As a lifelong fan... I approve of this cover. Thank you! Now lets hear you do a concert long version of "Bytor and the snowdog".
Such an amazing job! You had me at hello with the intro execution. So great to see a new generation of Rush fans, and not only fans, but musicians that can actually play their timeless music!
Holy crap. I clicked on this video on this extremely sad sad day and honestly didn't have a lot of expectations. I listened for 30 seconds and as the song escalated and developed, I just got chills. I've been a Rush head since the 70's. I listened twice, it's just amazing. I can't wait to check out more of your channel. Thank you.
Given what happened a few weeks ago, this moved me to tears for a few reasons. Not only does this make me feel nostalgic for Rush, but also it’s incredibly comforting to know that literally generations later, young folks like this are invested enough to cover their music with such respect.. Amazing.
Fantastic everyone nailed their part ! Didn't know what was coming with vocal but I got way more then I expected ! She sounded great and her face played to song also wonderful !
Awesome! Saw Rush Live at the New Haven Coliseum, Permanent Waves Tour. Saw them two more times. Can't recall which tours. My favourite band. Great Job! Loved it!
Wow - you guys really did a kickass tribute - I've been a rush fan for almost 40 years - and know this song backwards & forwards. Your timing, inflection, and tones are very good - couldn't help but smile - thanks so much!
I'm late to yet another party, oh well. It's so great to see young people take interest in the music us old timers knew was classic at the time. You're all very talented. Chase your dreams.
Wow I can honestly say it all four of you people really have alot of talent. This is one of my all-time favorite songs by Rush. And as far as I'm concerned your performance is superb, and well done . Thank you for keeping the spirit of Rush alive. I wish you continued success as you create more great videos.Tim .
Seeing a whole new generation of Rush enthusiasts carry on the greatest rock band in histories music ...is just a Tribute to Rush and their musical genius....keep up the good work ..your sound is AWESOME .!!...Rush would be proud ..
HOLY CRAP! Neil’s spirit is looking down upon you with high praise!!! Takes so much to learn to play songs like Xanadu or even La Villa Strangiatio (for example)… yet takes balls and beers to play it in one take!!!
Excellent work - I enjoyed watching the drummer patiently waiting for the drums to kick in and then bringing it with gusto - everyone plays well here. Good job 👍
What I like about this cover is the singer just covers it with her natural voice. Sometimes covers get screwed up by the singer trying to sound like the original song's singer, which is admirable, but sometimes you just have to go for singing it in the correct key and "make it your own," so to speak. Nice job.
Huge respect for this man!!! Just awesome!!!! Absolutely fantastic!!!! I have totally subbed and you have a fan for life!!!! Please keep going and never stop!!!! Just great!!!! I have watch this about 60 times already!!! Love you guys and girls!!!! LoL!!!!! Just SAVAGE!!!!!
When you see Geddy sing in such a high pitch he makes it look easy but when you try to copy you then realize just how freaking hard it is. Well done to the lovely singer. She does a great job with some geddy face expressions thrown in
Goosebumps! Dang guys, this is awesome! 2017, why haven't I run across this sooner? You did an amazing job with a really complex work. I grew up with this music 40 years ago and to see a younger generation getting into this genre makers my heart sing! I am about to dig into TheModerndayWarriors channel and I am sure this is going to be an epic evening of Rush Music. Thanks for all your hard work.
Hey, its me again. Thanking the algorithm. Metrics. Praise. Wonderful cover. Top 5 fav songs of mine. Love the guitar work in the intro and that build up with the entire band.
These kids are f*ckin' killing it !!! I am 53 . Played guitar since I was 5 . Been a Rush fan since 1974 . Been in a lot of bands, even a couple/few Rush cover bands myself . Color me impressed !! Good job . You guys never stop challenging yourselves !! Never think you're good enough . Stay hungry and keep pushing yourselves & I can see you guys going A long way .
There is a level of musicianship here that isn't often seen. The tiny nuances that most miss. Very, very good. Super tight version of one of Rush's more complex offerings. And those vocals were flawless. The Elder Gods salute you all.

TheModernDayWarriors Rock
Stop too much fun is contagious
great stuff.....well done.
Well played.. but everyone needs to pitch in and buy the drummer some tom toms. Pretty impossible to emulate Neil with only a basic kit.
I don' care what God says this is the best Rush cover band of them all. One word WOW !!!!!
I saw an interview w/ Geddy once, discussing Rush cover bands and the topic of Geddy's voice being the hardest part of Rush to cover came up - to which Ged replied _'sometimes I can't do Geddy"_
Very excellent cover here! Well done 👏👏
Been a Rush fan for over 40 years. You nailed the spirit of this song, top work!
I listen to this cover every day. Musicians all deserve much credit. The singer really goes for it and gets there.
Its been shared quite a bit. The us army did time stands still. Its so good and shows neils lyrics hit a nerve in me
You can tell she has had vocal training.
Spot on! So great to see the younger generation appreciate the intricacy of old RUSH. Well done!
Awesome! As an old Rush fan it brought a tear to my eye. Fantastic job!
I did too
I'm one of the most hired keyboard players in Chicago for over 30 years. I've toured over the world. I want to say, I really love you guys and appreciate what you are doing. You make my heart sing. Thank you
Way to go, ModernDayWarriors! What a treat to hear this tune covered with such care and talent! Thanks for all the effort you put into this.
This can't be real life. Blown away. Thanks for sharing this masterpiece with the world.
I have found the pleasuredome
And drank the milk of paradise

They look like they're having so much fun, keep it up y'all! Also a girl who likes Rush? Now that's my kind of girl

U must be jo king

@@rbilleaud Pitchy AND out of tune? "Pitchy" means out of tune!
40 year rush fan here and I was hesitant to click. Glad I did. This is a very difficult song to cover. Kudos to all of you 👍
I can think of three guys who watched this video and MUST have had ear-to-ear smiles - well done MDW!
Awesome job!!! I'm 54 and I rocked this song way back in the day. I have hope for our future after seeing you young people cover this song. I really enjoyed this!! Keep rocking, and love her voice!!!
Great and worthy attempt. But needs more cowbell
Matt Heinz - yeah I missed that too..
Voice doesn't go well.
@@orionthehunter9107 Works for me!

More Cowbell man!!
One of the HARDEST Rush songs to cover......and you NAILED IT!!!! Holy shitballs, Batman!!!!!

The female singer is HOT too ❤️
One of.....if not the BEST Rush cover I have ever seen and I have been a fan for 38 yrs!!!!
Thanks very much for watching!
It's rare and difficult to cover this song, and you did it
Great job,

That's cool. Did you ever get a chance to see them live? My two sons(Neil and Alex) hate RUSH, or are at least indifferent.

Good solid effort MDW....sounds awesome.great guitar work and solid vocals....thanks for keeping the RUSH flame burning.
Absolutely fabulous no wonder the drummer was smiling at the end. Superb Performance
And all of this in just one take!!! Great!!!

It's 6 AM in Fort Erie Ontario, the birds are singing and I had to listen to Xanadu from my favourite Rush cover band. Cheers always.
