Can’t go wrong with franks red hot for the egg wash and the Cajun sauce. I catfish frequently so I’m always getting some fillets but I never thought of seasoning the wet. Definitely gonna give it a try because that looked amazing.

We lived catfish nuggets in my family. I use that Louisiana New Orleans Style fish fry in the yellow bag, but I still put some salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder on my clean/washed fish. The fish comes out so nicely seasoned vs just using the fish fry alone. This looks yummy too. I've been Meatless, no dairy or milk for a month and I can't wait to get back.

Nice. My son who is 9 is a fish connoisseur of sorts. Personally I didn't start liking fish till I was about 17. I mean I'd eat the occasional tuna sandwich now and then. But at 17 I had Halibut and it changed my life and I've eaten octopus squid sushi now caviar but this kid at 5 would want and eat sardines out of the can. He's got my old grandpa in his soul I guess lol. Anyways he's been dying to try catfish nuggets and your recipe is a winner for sure stay up player!

OMG! so light, tasty, DELICIOUS! i am a catfish fan now! it was like flounder or cod i couldnt believe it. love your simple recipe. even the method and tools used would make it easier for me to make this. im an italian guy from up northeast! now a catfish lover! thank you.
Perfection right there. That's why I love your channel. Tip: when rinsing fish. If it's a freshwater fish rinse it in freshwater. If it's a saltwater fish rinse it in saltwater. It will make sure you actually taste the best flavors of the fish. Nice job man

Superb. I have to say, this is much better then buying pre-bagged catfish nuggets which always look like scraps with a lot of extra skin and bones. Cutting up the filets gave me more nuggets and meatier pieces. I used the Louisiana Fish Fry instead of corn meal and flour, the crust was more like fried chicken but still delicious. Next time I'll use corn meal and flour, I see that's the difference.
One of my faves! 😋😋 My grandmother used to make them and I used to love getting then from JJ's (JJ Fish & Chicken) in Chicago, when she didn't make them. 😊

I love your channel! I wanted to start cooking more new recipes over the same old stuff I always make. I made this, the egg rolls, and the wing stop wings here recently. All turned out great! I feel like a real cook 🥲😂
I did some fried catfish the other night and made the tater sauce the way you recommended which isn't that much different from my recipe originally. The only changes I made were I like to use sweet relish instead of dill relish and I also add a hint of lemon juice to mine. What I never thought about using was the red wine vinegar. That leveled it up and sent it over the top. It was so good, later that evening, I was dipping my finger in the tater sauce bowl I set aside for myself and was sucking on just the tater sauce wishing I had more catfish to dip . Thanks. Update: Made this again last night using some of the left tater sauce I jarred up and put in the ice box. Except this time in my small bowl of tater, I added some fresh horseradish. You're always saying this is fire right here - well, that was FIRE.
Man I just said I wanted some cat fish the other day. Now I really want some watching this video. This looks so good with some hot sauce and lemon and kool-aid is all you need.
