Great fixture. I love my Photontek X600W Pro People complain that they are made in china...... but everything other companies build their lights from all comes from china anyways. Good quality can and does come from china if your willing to pay. Peace ✌🏻
@@deplaneetegmont hello. If your asking about the Photontek X600watt pro.... I run it at 50% power during vegetive growth and 75% in flower. Last 2 weeks i bump it to 100%. I keep the fixture 2 feet or 24 inches above during veg and drop it to 8-12 inches during flower. If you run this fixture on 100% you will probably need to add CO2 and not just those mushroom bags or TNB bottles. At 75% if you stay 8-12 inches away you should have no issues with the plants. However environment and genetics will be a factor. Happy growing good luck and peace ✌🏻
@@user-sm9mh3bv3l Hi, thx for the info. I have the Lumatek 600 watt pro, it's my first run. I turned it to 75% late veg and the next day they were starting to yellow and drooping, bending their heads, as if they were trying to hide from the light. Turned it back to 50% and up to 3 feet to give them some rest, this was about a week ago and they are still recovering. Pfff. And this is chocolate haze, which is supposedly 95% sativa. I think I'm gonna play it safe for now, maybe not even going to 100% this first run. I don't have the extra CO2, but everything else is good, temp is a bit on the low side, about 22 °C, RH at 45-50%. It's surprisingly difficult to find some decent information on how to use this light, so thanks for the reply. Good luck to you too. Peace
@@deplaneetegmont agreed on the info being sparse. I also have Gavita 1700ePro fixtures and very little is spoken of them as well in regards to use. I think they assume when a consumer is purchasing these calibre of lights that the consumer generally has an idea on growing. All lights do create a slightly different response from plants. I don’t think you would ever need 100% unless your light was very high above the canopy. Happy growing and peace. The yellowing of the leaves wouldn’t be a light issue. The turning of the leaves would be though. Happy growing
Here's the info that I was after, and I'll share with the class. 20" at 1500ppfd means 24.5" is 1k, and 34.6" is 500. So 10.1" kolas between 1k & 500ppfd. This is how you stack 50oz into a 5x5 without CO2. 👊
Olysean92 25” hanging height sounds about right to me as well mate. Example your “10.1 kolas between 1k &500ppfd please dude so I can grasp your point please?? Every days a learning day. Thanks bud.
@@danieladams1733 a fixture that is physically 5x5, with 300 watts of perfectly placed, very efficient light, you could achieve a nearly perfect 1000 in every box of the par map, 2 inches away. Light obeys the inverse square law (2x distance=1/4ppfd), so if you have 1000 at 2", you have 250 at 4". Kolas form above 500, and exponentially smaller popcorn forms below. So 1k at 2" achieves 500 at 2.8". .8" "kolas." Hitting 1000ppfd at 24.5", means 34.65" hits 500ppfd. 10.1" kolas. A perfect par map is just where growing indoors begins. Depth is the key to weight per square foot. I use a 274w FC3000 in a 32x32. Effectively the same as 950w in a 5x5. This is how I shape my canopy to pull 14 oz from 7 square feet with 8" kolas. Above is scorch. Below is larf. The center is a band of gold that all resources must be targeting.👊
@@GeofryMasters to make sure we're all talking about the same thing, larf is leaves. Stems. Anything you can't smoke or press. Literally trash without purpose. Popcorn is the tiny nugs that form below 500ppfd. Trim is everything that comes off the nugs before curing. Kolas are where nugs connect above 500ppfd. If the coldest, darkest nug is at 500ppfd, there is no popcorn, nevermind larf. I don't count trim as yield. So I can't figure out what what part of my canopy you count as "larf." But if you pull more than 2oz per square foot of smokeable, sellable nugs, with less than 37w/sqft, I'd love to hear your recipe.
@@olysean92 No, maybe in small circles thats what ppl call larf but in the industry larf is anything that is considered popcorn nugs and I can guaranfuckentee you aren't getting 3.1 lbs of top shelf from your canopy.
@@winstonpratt604 I believe that this is the new direction for the industry, but we can't get there without manufacturers making the equipment. I'd love to be able to get 3+ kg from a 5x5 on the regular.

I’m thinking about getting one for my AC INFINITY 4x8, running (2) sf4000 been good so far, started C02 last run, it was fun , but too hot in cali, so running my tent at night will be very temp efficient, would I run just (1) photon tek C02 pro? Thanks, great video 👍🏿
So like.. would this actually beat the HLG Scorpion Diablos? That's the number one light on the planet so.. Be interesting to see if this would beat it.
@@sacballa_kills_em_wit_facts Drying in the tent now at 51% RH and room temp. The light is terrific. Easy to remove light bars and sides without having to take the whole light fixture out and hang what I’m drying from the ceiling poles. Lot of things I’ve learned in my first budget grow. Drip feed timed irrigation system is the direction I want to go.
how high would you need to hang this light in a 5x5 to hit 1000 ppfd at the centre of the chart? its interesting that the limiting factor of lights nowadays is now the ppfd per square ft.
Now that's a light. This is the type of LED light that a grower wants. Even without the co2. I've been complaining for a few years now. That LED light fixture are to small. And that if your plant or any part of your plant isn't directly under the diodes of the fixture. The growth of your plant is suffering. Due to the fact that the par value drops so much the further you get away from the fixture. This 1000 watts is what's needed to keep those outer edges at the optical par for great growth. I'm excited. Finally something that will help us grow to our full potential.
Can you use this light successfully without C02 if you have it in a open room (garage) that cooled by a/c and appropriately 24x24’ is there any way to use this c02 light without it?
Once upon a time co2 levels were about 1500 ppm, that is why plants such as marijuana love extra co2 up to about that number being the maximum. Great content as always dont forget to like comment and subscribe if your not. Beast of a light.
As far as I know, C3 plants only use up to approx. 1000 ppm, more is a waste. I haven't seen any scientific study proving that cannabis benefits from higher ppms. The effect actually becomes negative at some point, inhibiting the Rubisco enzyme.
1400 to 1500 is the most common max number i have repeatedly, read, heard, used for marijuana over the years. Beyond that number thats correct it becomes toxic. co2 levels are currently about 410 ppm on earth and the number is going up and up from here on out, plants like it but not sure the damage it is doing humans and animals insects etc.. other greenhouse gasses are also increasing along with global temperatures, as us humans continue to pollute and pump enormous amount of oil out of the earth which is a insulator that helps keep the heat from the earths core from escaping into the atmosphere, its replaced with water which does nothing. I hate to see the fucture and the scarry conditions that will be for our children and there children and so on. Man kind is lucky if we have 100 years left on earth.
No co2 u would want to make the foot print bigger by raising the light trying to hit an average par of . 700/800 ppfd but you would need a par meter or to know what that height would be the manufacturers may show it on there website
Hey migro, have you taken a look at the new spectrum king led, Them guys say the par maps and ppfd charts mean nothing, and say there lights run the best
thanks for pointing that out. I wasn't aware spectrum king was spreading such utter nonsense. Now I know I have no reason whatsoever to even consider buying their stuff.
lmao @spectrum king havent heard that name for a long time... u know that grower urbanremo-he used spectrum kings some time ago and switched to better leds, his yield increased like 4x lel... dude from spectrum king talks shit
So im planning on picking this light up in the next month or so. I wont need the full 1500um, not C02 BUT i was planning on running this light @50% or @75% … any thoughts ? I can hit 1.3-1.5 GPW on HID HPS pretty reliably im hoping to this idea will keep the heat down and in thus limit or eliminate the need for AC when flowering inside during winter month “-5 or colder intake temps” How does this light perform @50 and 75% ? Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated!
The new Technologys efficiency goes up, price comes down. But the cost and complexity of the moving system stayed (about the same). You can see the same thing in Photovoltaic power generation. Financially it's better to build a fixed system instead of a sun-tracking one. Moving parts break and a technician' is getting more expensive every year
My question is this - is there really any need for a light like this? I mean it's freaking awesome, and wouldn't kick it out of my grow room, but unless your saying I can get another 30 percent return I'm not sold. Stick with the 650 model for home grows. Just my opinion
Check it out! Run light at 75% and a 6x6 space without co2 and you will most likely get 10 years of use out of it, now do a cost analysis. Diodes will run a lot more efficiently and last a lot longer at 75% power. Or take out 2 bars and raise light, run at 100% and get better coverage, seems very versatile…. Oh and what about lights breaking? I hear it’s usually one of the bars, well on this light you could just take the broken bar out and send it back, while not missing a beat!

Yes more is better. Well done Lad!!!💪🎸🍻
Do you think the photontek is better than Gavita or is Gavita better please let me know I really value your opinion?
Absolutely love the channel thank you for all that you do. I was looking below and can't seem to find the discount code
What kinda cpst effective measures can i use to add co2 supplementation? 🤔
what a gorgeous light!
Great fixture.
I love my Photontek X600W Pro
People complain that they are made in china...... but everything other companies build their lights from all comes from china anyways.
Good quality can and does come from china if your willing to pay.
Peace ✌🏻
hi, what height and what setting do you run it at? my plants are struggling with the
@@deplaneetegmont hello.
What about to use it in 5x10 on the light mover?Gona switch each 5x5 every minute, good idea?
Keep up the good work 👍
Here's the info that I was after, and I'll share with the class. 20" at 1500ppfd means 24.5" is 1k, and 34.6" is 500. So 10.1" kolas between 1k & 500ppfd. This is how you stack 50oz into a 5x5 without CO2. 👊
In a 5x5 area thats about 1.5 to 2lb of decent buds then the other 1.1lbs is all larf lol
So 1k at 2" achieves 500 at 2.8". .8" "kolas."
Hitting 1000ppfd at 24.5", means 34.65" hits 500ppfd.
Can I ask you a question, Shane would you think this led light is better then the Gavita 1700 led light
Love your channel. Can please do a review on the phantom photobio mx 680? Thanks
What would you think of the Spider Farmer 7000 in a 5x5...would you still recommend CO2?
Powerful light, but where can I get a CO2 distribution system and monitor for a tent (say 5x5)?
I have several homebrew gas cylinders to release.
Good point cuz I guarantee you can't go over 1000 with a TNB bottle alone
@@winstonpratt604 I believe that this is the new direction for the industry, but we can't get there without manufacturers making the equipment.
I'd love to be able to get 3+ kg from a 5x5 on the regular.
You're local hydro shops should have tanks.
Or you can burn propane.
But its more economical to just get big co2 tank.
@@timpage5021 I mentioned that I have tanks, but I need an efficient distribution and control system.
I'll see what my locals have.
Propane is not a good option for Summer in Australia.
Very nice, love your vids. I was looking at these but you do allot of lights I haven't seen. I seen this one but not like how you do it. Thank you, really help with my next big purchase. I'm hitting like on everything I watch and watch some vids two or three times. You get that Tony Montana costume yet for holloween???😁
Need an asbestos suit and welders helmet to enter that grow room 🤣
Lol I actually used to use tyvek suits to go in my grow space lol
I remove asbestos for a living too..
So I get boxes of em for free
All the white poly ill ever need too.
But absolutely fantastic light.
Do you know anything about the Photontek x1000pro? Supposed to be a new addition.
The x1000pro is coming out middle of the year, according to Photontek.
It's size is1.7 m. or 5.57 feet so probably geared to larger grows.
Isn’t this the same light
Fantastic light.
Its got a rad gnarly finish on it too.
Paypal or patreon?
Saved so many so much research.
Invaluable work you do.
Thanks!!!
Yes this light is the best on the market right now currently .
Chilled ultra puts out better numbers than the hlg
What about mammoth mint white
I have the Zeus 600 Pro in my 5x5 and that’s alright for me. This is just so OP and my tent is 8ft high!
How’s your grows going?
@@sacballa_kills_em_wit_facts
Drying in the tent now at 51% RH and room temp. The light is terrific. Easy to remove light bars and sides without having to take the whole light fixture out and hang what I’m drying from the ceiling poles.
Lot of things I’ve learned in my first budget grow. Drip feed timed irrigation system is the direction I want to go.
Wow nice led grow light 👍
how high would you need to hang this light in a 5x5 to hit 1000 ppfd at the centre of the chart?
its interesting that the limiting factor of lights nowadays is now the ppfd per square ft.
The light has only diodes 3000K and red 660nm? Why didn't they add 5000K?
Wow. Now that's a light!!!!!
No UK link?
Fixed now, thanks for the message
I'm venting my 3 tents with a carbon filter on the outside.. Would I need to increase my Co2 expel rate?
best video quality in town
your photontek-lighting.com link isn't working
Can you use this light successfully without C02 if you have it in a open room (garage) that cooled by a/c and appropriately 24x24’ is there any way to use this c02 light without it?
They say u can remove bar 4 and 7 u can run without co2 an still above the rest
could run it at lower power for a ton of light with less heat.
True! Would be interesting to see if and how much PPFD/W goes up when dimmed to 60% or so.
Using photontek 1000 in 5×5 tent & CO2 . How many inches above plant if I grow Autoflower?
Could you tell me a good distance from canopy with no co2?
No co2 u would want to make the foot print bigger by raising the light trying to hit an average par of . 700/800 ppfd but you would need a par meter or to know what that height would be the manufacturers may show it on there website
Hey migro, have you taken a look at the new spectrum king led,
Them guys say the par maps and ppfd charts mean nothing, and say there lights run the best
thanks for pointing that out. I wasn't aware spectrum king was spreading such utter nonsense. Now I know I have no reason whatsoever to even consider buying their stuff.
King has a proven track record
@@lancoschino731 I couldn't care less. if this is the kind of information they put out, I will have nothing to do with 'em.
lmao @spectrum king havent heard that name for a long time... u know that grower urbanremo-he used spectrum kings some time ago and switched to better leds, his yield increased like 4x lel... dude from spectrum king talks shit
So im planning on picking this light up in the next month or so.
I wont need the full 1500um, not C02 BUT i was planning on running this light @50% or @75% … any thoughts ?
I can hit 1.3-1.5 GPW on HID HPS pretty reliably
im hoping to this idea will keep the heat down and in thus limit or eliminate the need for AC when flowering inside during winter month “-5 or colder intake temps”
How does this light perform @50 and 75% ?
Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated!
A whole month and nothing .. never tested it?
would you recommend this model for. 5x5 or have you found a better light this new year?
Hi Jeff,
Yes it's a good light for a 5x5, check out the rest of our videos for other lights we have tested in a 5x5 area.
Thanks.
@@MIGROLIGHT What light would you recommend?
@@MIGROLIGHT Any other 5x5 coverage LED you recommend?
How come nobody talks about light rails anymore? Seems like this beast or( 2 of them) on a rail would kill?
The new Technologys efficiency goes up, price comes down. But the cost and complexity of the moving system stayed (about the same).
You can see the same thing in Photovoltaic power generation. Financially it's better to build a fixed system instead of a sun-tracking one. Moving parts break and a technician' is getting more expensive every year
They don’t increase yield and moving lights create a fire risk also the light in the video weighs a ton
My question is this - is there really any need for a light like this? I mean it's freaking awesome, and wouldn't kick it out of my grow room, but unless your saying I can get another 30 percent return I'm not sold.
Stick with the 650 model for home grows. Just my opinion
Smh 😂
Check it out!
Run light at 75% and a 6x6 space without co2 and you will most likely get 10 years of use out of it, now do a cost analysis. Diodes will run a lot more efficiently and last a lot longer at 75% power. Or take out 2 bars and raise light, run at 100% and get better coverage, seems very versatile…. Oh and what about lights breaking? I hear it’s usually one of the bars, well on this light you could just take the broken bar out and send it back, while not missing a beat!
