Spent an hour troubleshooting my friend's PC, this was the one thing that fixed it. He has a MSI MAG B550M Mortar motherboard and had the same issue with no display and the boot light on. Taking the CMOS battery out and draining the power solved it! Thank you!
Thank you for the video!!! I first had CPU/DRAM lights on, this is after playing BF4. I replaced the tower a couple months ago so everything has been running fine. So changed the DRAM, light went away but now I had the BOOT light on, cleaned the PS, tried everything I could think of... Found your video, replaced the CMOS battery, all is well now. thank you.
5 minutes is all you need to discharge the cmos settings if battery is removed, OR - short the clear CMOS jumpers when the power is completely removed from the motherboard while the battery is still in its socket.
Yes exactly, you can just short the JBAT1 cmos jumper pins (usually on msi boards) simply by touching them both with a screwdriver or using a jumper. A screwdriver or metal object works fine for me.
Thanks for the video. I first had the red light on the DRAM. I took out one of the ram sticks, then moved the other to different slots, with the stick in the 2nd slot the light changed from DRAM to Boot. I followed your instructions, left the pc off for a couple hours and it booted up thankfully. I updated the bios then added back the 2nd ram stick. So far so good.
For me personally it was because I plugged the HDMI to the port instead of directly into the graphics card. Once it was plugged into the graphics card the problem was fixed. Also make sure your cables are plugged in correctly on the power supply too.
Worked on Gigabytes Aorus motherboard! Thank you soo much! Incase someone having the same problem with similar motherboard, here’s what I did Turned off the pc completely and then turned off the PSU, then unplugged everything from the back of the pc even the display port. Took off the battery and then unplugged only the motherboard cable, left it for 30mins just to make sure and pressed the power button few times as the good guy in the video said. Connected everything back and its working!
Dude its fucking retarded how one has to go through hell just to get this shitty motherboard working like for the price once has to pay for this shit its ridiculous 200 bucks down the drain
Absolutely horrendous quality from MSI, the fact that this video almost has 60k views on such a tiny channel goes to show the magnitude of the problem. Just about anyone who purchases the motherboard faces this isssue
@@kT-AlQhtani Well atleast I got it down already, when in happens I just have to remove cmos battery, cpu and mobo power cable coming from psu wait 3 minuts and good2go

After that your finished if you have a jumper shunt put it on one post of the two prong Cmos jumper and your done. Last reasemble in reverse order and try again. This process should only take about 5 to 10 minutes.
UGH, I'm getting a red and orange light, remains, then red off, orange off, then green light, then the computer shuts off. Same model and cooler in your video, any help would be appreciated?
Tried this and still not working. My motherboard is a Gigabyte and same issue after I updated the bios. The cpu is brand new and that was working perfectly before I updated bios via a flash drive. I’ve done all this and still the same. Boot red light on. Can’t even get in the bios and no beep.
I am currently having a similar problem with my motherboard, it flashes the cpu light, then the vga light, then it stays on the boot light, and I'm getting no display on my monitor. I tried this method, but unfortunately it didn't work for me, do you have any advice or possible solutions to my problem?
OMG 😳 thank youuuuuuu ... I am assuming it was the CMOS battery .. it must trigger the boot loader or something?! Thanks for taking the time to post this video GG
MSI x670e, pc stuck at Boot debug light after every restart. I have to unplug the pc to bypass this boot light to get to windows. Pretty annoying to double restart each time. Any other suggestions?
Thank you so much! I tried this and it worked. However, I think my problem was that I also forgot to connect the HDMI camble directly to the GPU (first time building pc...), which was the cause for no display signal; moreover I have read that if you still need to install OS, you should first insert the install media (usb) when booting for the first time. So I don't know if this resetting CMOS was the real fix or the fact that I connected the HDMI correctly and the install media. (Also, don't know if this is correct, but after resetting the CMOS, before installing Windows, I re-updated the BIOS to newer version, just to be sure) Thank you again.
This was exactly my issue! Came up after having the PC unplugged for a few minutes. I think I even have the same motherboard as you, or similar (MSI Gaming Plus X470). Mine has a CMOS reset button near the bottom that fixed the issue after being held down for 10 seconds, so it might be worth checking to see if you have that before removing the battery and unplugging components.
I followed the steps and it worked but after an hour my screen went black and boot light came back on. I followed the same steps again and after 40 min my display went off and boot light came back on.

I tried all of this with no results, but this video helped further troubleshoot my problem. My real problem was that the PCIE slot where my GPU connected suddenly died, so I had to connect to the second PCIE slot, otherwise I would get a “No Signal” on the 1st PCIE slot, with the white VGA and green boot light on the motherboard. After connecting the GPU to the other slot, I would get a powered signal, but it was black screen, with a green boot light on the Mobo, and still unable to access the bios. No logo, no bios access. Still essentially bricked at this point The final fix was to connect my M2 SSD with Windows on it, and it the ROG logo and BIOS screen finally popped out and I could finally access Windows. Still strange though, I thought I could access BIOS regardless if I have any HDD or SSD connected.
Firstly, thank you for this troubleshoot. I bought an MSI Gaming Plus Max motherboard with Ryzen 5 5600g CPU. Secondly, I am getting the same issue, everything is brand new, the boot led is lighting up and stais like that. Now I flashed the BIOS for the sake of the CPU and when I connect everything after the process the monitor is black and gives no picture. I have an SSD in the m2 slot and I am not sure if that can cause problems, however I will try this method and let you know if that works for me.
Turns out I had to buy a DVI cable to set the pc up properly. Previously I used a D-SUB cable with a VGA adapter on it, and I equipped another adapter which is a DVI-HDMI. So basically I swapped 2 cables and now it's working.

this worked for me. and then i turned off my pc and turned it back on and i had this issue again, and the second time this method didnt help me :(
Edit: as long as you get to post it at least once you can go ahead and plug in USB with windows, because if it posts at least once then everything works.

#noscreen here I have z390 adrus master and the system boot 5 times with no screen
I have 4 ram slots and 4 the same ddr4 8gig ram . the pc only boot when i use only 2 ram in the first two slots
the problem was on the original bios and also on the updated last one I have try different gpu with the same outcome
I also use different drive m2 with the same outcome
no screen only with 2 ram slots next to each other so the wrong way . normaly you use slot 1 and 3 but this not work
only work in slot 1 and 2
also the two other ram I have are the same the also not work at al al is grand new
ram is #corsair #cmk16gx4m2b3200c16 ver4.32 #vengernce lpx 3200mhz 4x 8Gb
I try the ram on a different system and it work al 4 so the ram is also ok
this motherbord cost 300 dollar and it is shit dont buy #Gigabyte #z390 #adrus #master
MSI boards are literally shit, this is my second setup and this one also has issue as well
Well I'll be damned, it worked
Has anyone tried everything and nothing works? Check your display. I tried for hours with my bush LED24127FHD TV and it wouldn't display the bios, that is until I tried another display and it worked perfectly. So ensure the display works with computers through hdmi before reconsidering your life's choices and wanting to die 😂
воо гоблин ,а пинцетом бод батарейкой кмос нельзя замкнуть два контакта???? папуасы
MSI are not good motherboard i guess
