The Porsche Panamera has a strange legacy, has weird paddle buttons similar to the automatic transmission Lexus IS300, and pulls like a freight train! I hate it when people say that it’s weird for a Porsche to be front engine. They’ve built more front engine models than rear engine. The 356, 911, 912 and 959 are the only rear engine production models built by Porsche with the 912 and 959 being built off the 911. The 924, 944, 968, 928, Panamera, Cayenne and Macan are all front engine. Then they’ve had several mid engine models such as the 550 Spyder, 904 Carrera GTS, 914, Boxster, Cayman, Carrera GT and 918. So of all their production models really only the 356 and 911 based models have been rear engine.

Great video but these cars aren't anywhere close to the weight you mentioned. They are 4350lbs which is light considering its size.

That's one amazing car. I think you have to see the Panamera in person to appreciate how good it really looks. It's a difficult car to get the feel for in a photo.

I sold my 2016 Mustang GT to take over my wife's lease on her Cadillac. It was painful to go from the GT to a turbo 4 cylinder caddy. The lease was up and I wanted something sporty again. I bought a Panamera GTS. It blows my mind how fast this big sedan is and how it doesn't feel as big and heavy as it is when turning, it is really planted. It still just amazes me how it performs. I know it's faster in a straight line than my Mustang, but this thing would leave my old Mustang in the rearview mirror on a track as well. Speaking of, I can't wait to take it to the track. If my best time around that track in my Mustang is within 3 seconds of this car I will be shocked. The speed I can carry into turns I remember with the Mustang is significantly higher. It's the best of both worlds for me. I have a sports car when I want to and a cruiser when I commute or travel.

This is my realistic dream car since it is not super expensive, has four nice seats, a good amount of power wrapped in a classy package. $25,000 in interior seems like a lot but the leather creates a very homey environment.

I have a 2010 S and it is almost identical inside & out. The PDK is awesome and the car is still quick with only 400HP. "Paddle" shifters need muscle memory training, but once you "push to pass" (Indy reference here) they are very ergonomic. When I go into manual shift mode I do say outloud "push to pass" to remind me. Old guy training--ugh. This car is a Southern version, in that it came with dark tinting all around. Viewed from the side, with the silver color of the car, the dark tint and the chrome window trim, it looks like an outline of a wing (chrome edging helps a lot). So, I think the car looks very trick and classy. Compared to my previous 997S coupe (yellow w/black interior) I'd say that this car looks terrific for it's intended purpose, as did the 997S. Bought it in 2018 for $35K w/53K miles on the odometer. GREAT BUY! I feel lucky....

I rode in a trackhawk once and have a video of the guy launching it afterwords and oddly enough the Panmera sounds almost exactly like it shift point wise after launching it on the outside video when you got the shot of it launching

The Panamara lets Porsche build better 911s so I'm all for it. Also looking at the used prices for them they are a more affordable then an M5 and would make a killer road trip car
it's so funny how some people think this car is ugly, then they drive it. How could something so ugly put such a huge smile on a face, and that's typically with a stock set up.
Also, the best way to describe why the 970 (for me) is better than the 971, is that the 970 looks like a Porsche from up close and at distance, but the refined 971 can pass as a Kia from afar. Open the hood on a 970, then a 971. The 971 cheats you out of the beautiful looking V8 sitting there staring back at you as in the 970. The 971 gives you plastic sheeting under the hood. lame.
Also, 970 console with all the buttons looks cool and is functional. The 971 forces you to scroll through the dash tablet, never mind the fingerprints you leave. Double lame.
Don't get me wrong. the 971 is awesome, it's just not pure Porsche engineering bliss like the "answer with no question" over refined 971.
My experience is my daily driver is my 2013 970 Turbo in Silver GT metallic. The only option it does not have that I regret is cooled seats.

One of my relatives drove a stock V8 Panamera on track and he was sort of disappointed and impressed as he later drove a stock face 1 Volvo V60 D6 plug-in hybrid and came to the conclusion that the V60 had better handling that the Panamera.
Klas Peppar keep in mind the panemera is a big heavy car.

I LOVE panameras. It's got a bit of a heavy gas pedal if that makes sense... Like, it takes a bit of muscle to push. This thing is blisteringly fast though. Faster then it should be for a car that weighs this much
