    Now I understand why a Russian guy who tests these lamps with tools said that Philips X-tremeUltinon LED H7 kit looks cheap and like a Chinese made kit while the H4 kit of the same series looks well built. The connectors are a big difference, here on H4 they look fancy and high quality...

    Just advice, the signs of good LED:
    1. Lumen > 5000 lumen
    2. Power > 30 watt
    3. Lifetime > 30.000 hours
    4. Minimum 1 year warranty
    5. Better choose have 2 or 3 colour. For all season

    Useless piece of technology...same amount of lumen as a halogen bulb but you have to destroy the headlight back-cap, use different fittings, use canbus adaptors and, above all - is an equipment that is not allowed for use on public roads...too complicated. Not to mention that for the amount of money required, one can buy many high quality halogen exchange bulbs...as many as one would need in 10 yrs or more, so where's the advantage?

    • @TechWatcher
      @TechWatcher  4 года назад +1

      well, short beam is a lot better, i can say that offer 3X more visibility and fuel consumtion is around 0,3L lower, so they work fine, and i didnt use any canbus adaptors. after 2,5 years of use i upgraded second car with newer gen2 version which has even lower power consumption from gen1 25W to gen2 22Watts. you can use rubber caps and modified them to fit perfectly in back of the headlight.

      @@fuzz378 i did not use those LED bulbs because they are not road legal in my country. However, as a general rule, if you have a projector headlight, the dazzling for oncoming traffic is reduced - if you have a reflector headlight, then you might blind some other drivers. In europe it is stated that all light sources exceeding 2000lm must have an automatic levelling mechanism included in the headlight (like for HIDs). You have to see if your headlight can give the right light output on the road. Also, take note that the lens of the projector headlight plays an important role in how the light reaches the road, regardless of the bulb type.
