I recently bought my first Volvo ever, the C40 Recharge with dual motors. I am absolutely in love with it and look forward to driving every day. Its coear Volvo has put a lot if engineering into their vehicle platforms because it drives like a dream. My wife is getting a new vehicle next year and im going to steer her to Volvo.

Nice overview, Thom. I always mention that in the U.S. we do not get the upgraded 6.3 kW on-board charger 😡due to some incompatibility with the U.S. electrical standards.

I have a 21 Rav4 Prime with the 3.3 kW onboard charger which is not offered anymore. Although in a practical sense it is just fine since I don’t ever really need to charger quickly, I’d still like to have the option. So the slower charging speed would be a deal breaker for me. I’d like to see an all electric 60 as the 90 is too big and the 40 is a bit smaller than what I already have. And I like the looks of the 60 best.

@@thom-lov omg 🥹 i plan to buy it without using the charger at home. I thought it would be more convenient to use the public charger once every week :( but 6 hrs….
Thank you @thom-lov. I ordered the same car in Feb of this year from a dealer in Poland. The dealer states that our car is not yet in production, but should be delivered in Dec 24 or Jan 25. I am curious if we will I get a "recharge" as ordered or the new MY 25 specification shown in this video! Do you know if they have stopped producing the "recharge" branded versions?
The recharge models are just fully electric vehicles if I'm not mistaken. I have a '23 C40 Recharge... absolutely beautiful vehicle that I love driving daily.
@@GSP-76 Correct, however at time of ordering in Feb 2024, our car was named "Volvo XC60 T6 Recharge". The car is not in production yet, hence why I am curious if the "Recharge" name will be dropped from all non electric cars that are not yet produced. Also, if cars not yet produced will have MY25 updates as per this video.
Got some answers on the Volvo threads on Reddit. Cars not produced will be branded "Plug in Hybrid" and will get MY25 updates.
I have that speed warning and rear view when reversing also on my MY2024 T6 Recharge.
Same here. We also have the 6.3kwh charger and I have the driftwood finish on my denim blue MY24. I think I’ll pass changing to the MY25 for the sake of a new badge on the tailgate 😊
Have a Polestar 2 BST 230 in nebula green and I’m considering getting an XC60 T8 Polestar as I like it better overall… What do you think about this? Would you make the switch?
I have an L&C 01 subscription now, but I want to change it to an XC60 T8 subscription this year. Should I wait for the 2025 model? It looks like no.
By the way, thanks for the reviews of L&C 01. I viewed them before I took that car.

My 2023 S60 Recharge is 22 months old, 19,000 miles. For over a year Volvo was telling me a fix is on the way for “Energy Distribution Using Maps Data.” Now they have stopped telling me. This is a highly important factor for efficiency on longer trips. It worked great on my 2022 S60T8.
Additionally the phone app for my ‘22 was an order of magnitude better than this ‘23. This is no exaggeration.
The sedan has many wonderful qualities and efficiency, but I am extremely disappointed with these aspects. Where’s the “great” Google?

It's worth noting that the air suspension on the XC60 only operates on the rear axle, not the front. In contrast, the XC90 features air suspension on both the front and rear axles. That said, I must say the XC60 with its air suspension still provides a fantastic driving experience, gliding smoothly on the road.
It's on all 4 wheels. Rear air only was with the S/v90 and V60
Unfortunately, Volvo did not update the Infotainment system as the 2025 EX90. I really wanted the 2025 to be the year for my Volvo purchase, but the infotainment system feels outdated for the newer interior design. I will wait another year. And before anyone says it, no I do not want an electric vehicle.
T8-T6 badge was very difficult to read in MY2024. In MY2025 looks better, but still need improving…
Laminated windows - good for soundproofing, not so much for getting out of a car in the water...

This applies in every way to my 2023 S60 Recharge, except as it is now discontinued they’ve stopped milking.

Nice video again... But My neighbor has an xc60 T8 but no he doesn't care at all about it, charging flashes red or lights up red volvosa counter problem another neighbor xc90T8 litigated charging pole late last year same reason xc60 now does. Problem with volvosa not housing company charging units bmw and porsches, skoda electric /pulginhybrid chargin fine

@thom-lov - Do you know what heater is installed in the MY25 XC60 Plug in Hybrid? Is it gas, electric or both?
Electric only, Volvo took the fuel heater out. It can only heat now if the battery has sufficient SoC or is connected to a charger (2 phase AC).

This could be my next car. My C40 lease is coming up and the US infrastructure for EVs is awful. I used to have access to L2 chargers where I previously worked. But now, I must use dc fast chargers. A total joke in USA. Disappointed bc I love it otherwise, though the software is giving me major problems recently and Volvo service is at a loss. They know there are many problems but can’t pinpoint why. Anyway… this xc60 is very nice.. tho the recharge part I won’t get. Pointless for 25 miles of EV mode when I don’t have home access. I see they have a black edition. It looks slick but it’s also boring. I like bright colors which Volvo isn’t known for. I’ve had red and blue and then.. grey
No any significant cahnge from 2024 except the name.
I think the 6.3 kW onboard charger (outside U.S.) is worth mentioning. It shortens the charge time at home a lot from MY24

Hello, isnt Volvo coming with New EX60 Pure Electric due to they already got hybrid then why same with less equipments , no tinted and sure many other things .....So tell WHY SHOULD PEOPLE's ALREADY GOT XC60 Hybrid/RECHARGE........Reason of it ???????
The new software 3.9.1 came and map disspair from mid console which is ok, one need to concentrate on road and not on maps...
I already got Volvo XC60 2024 Hybrid/Recharge T6 Plus Performence , have all and dont miss any, HUD=Head up display is somekind of annoying for me and i dont miss it though and EVERY Volvo no matter which versions from EX30 to EX90 got same speed upto 180 maximum so WHY put extra cash on bla bla stuff ...........
Core is the basic version then Plus then Plus Performance then Ultimate or Ultra which is same.
Many media came with that Volvo will come with a New Pure Electric Version of XC60 to EX60 but so far nothing from Volvo company at all................If i change then it will be EX60 Pure EV/Electric version, its so smooth to drive on electric than now ..........
For those who drive longer range Hybrid /Recharge is good but for those who drive short range is absolutely great to drive with Electric then only one thing to do is charge battery instead of charging for few miles and petrol ...Its also about when service times come yearly then it will and going to costs as well..........
