I was thinking along those lines, but there are 5 or 6 Tesla drivers where I work (So California) and they seem to have gotten used to the single screen pretty quickly.
Had tesla for 4 years and dont even remember how it feelt to have a head up display.
I want a head up display for every passenger seat, except the driver seat.

There's more... The Twin Motor Performance and Single Motor Extended Range will each get a badge on the tailgate to reflect what 'engine' the car has. Just as we are used to with current Volvo's.. 😊

No dashcam/sentinel mode at all? I find it useful, and the ex30 seems to have the hardware necessary to do it.
26th of february I ordered my EX30. The car is expected in july. I hope mine will be on the right side of production this year.

That will surely be a MY25 Johan! By that time the car will also have some more OTA-updates so I'm expecting you will get a pretty efficient and 'flawless' EX30. Thanks for the support, regards!

Yes you get the Volvo On Call app with all new Volvos. First 4 years or so are free I believe
Ah what a bummer for me that I have to drive in the "boring" grey color. Would have been great to have the cloud blue! I ordered half way February and delivery at the beginning of July, so fingers crossed I get model year 25.
The light blue one is breeze. The mist one is the grey wool one.

I wasn’t expecting to discover we have it pretty good in the UK, with all the colours free and some options on Plus included as standard.
Yep that does sound like a pretty good deal compared to other markets.

I was convinced that I would trade my car (Mini Cooper SE 2022) for the EX30, until I test drove it. I wanted the Ultra but there’s no sun shade (and I live in an ultra hot climate), no aircon vents for my kids at the back, no arm rest or cup holders… then the regen is so harsh, and I was told there’s no way to adjust it (it’s either on or off) and I am used to the one pedal drive in my Mini EV. It was disappointing.
Some good reasons to steps up to the XC40 if you can manage that financially. My impression is that the XC40 is more upscale with creature comforts and quality that you’d expect from a Volvo and entry luxury brand.
You can still get the sunshade cover officially from Volvo it's available on their website but a manual one.

I also have a 22 Cooper SE, I was thinking about the EX30 to replace it, then I drove it, not impressed. I’ll stick with the MINI for a couple more years.
Do you think the Cross Country version could also arrive in summer or probably later?
My latest info was that first examples will arrive late this year. Let's say Q4. But hopefully a bit earlier.. Stay tuned!

Might be depending where you live. In Sweden we only have that charger for all chargers in the country.

I hope Volvo will retrofit the steering wheel controls for models year 2024, since it is malfunction from my point of view.
Would be a pretty legit fix, but I'm expecting they won't.. Perhaps for an additional fee.
Great! Thanks. Love your accent which seems just right for discussing Volvos. Here in the UK, it is impossible to get a test drive of the EX 30. Yes, impossible. Even at regional promotion events, no driving, just looking. Is this the same in other countries? I will not buy a vehicle without driving it first, as road feel and seat comfort matter to me.
How is a Dutch accent right for a Swedish car?
I test drove an Ultra at my local reseller in Norway, while I was waiting to get my current Volvo from regular service. This wasn’t planned and was no problem. I liked driving it a lot, but the lack of a HUD is a major fault in my opinion.
There was/is a 24hrs testdrive possible in Germany. I drove the Plus and I fully agree with Thom: the buttons on the steering wheel are a pain. If you activate ACC and want to increase/decrease the limit, it is so laggy that the system always reminds you to stay focused and watch the road instead of the center display.
I want a small driver display or HUD and functioning steering wheel buttons. Then this car might be an option. Size is great for 2 without kids.
Check the Volvo webpage…maybe they offer testdrives for the UK too soon!
Vapor gray is boring? The color is a personal preference! For me, that is the color that suits this volvo perfectly.

I'm disappointed that we still can't buy a long range with a white roof. If the roof must be black can it at least be fitted with solar panels?
Hi Thom. Love your channel. We know you have connections with Volvo 😬. Please please relay message to their R&D a lot of use hate Teslafication screens. Not having a dedicated driver screen or at minimal high quality HUD is a huge deal breaker. TIA😊

I prefer the current model year badging so glad I’m getting a my24. Only thing I’m gong to approach them on is the steering wheel buttons and get them swapped to my25 covers.

HUD as standard. I wouldn’t be buying just now. Also the buttons, come in Volvo your better than that. Really there is people just getting Cars and you think the buttons are not right.

#3 compares to a EX40, not EX30. That’s more comparable to #1
Thanks Thom, but if you see, both the cars built on the same platform and the battery mileage is more or less equivalent on both the cars. Would you see the smart #3 more upgraded version of the ex30 and would you think smart #3 outperform the ex30 in terms of performance?

I know my XC40 out of the Ghent plant has been flawless...kinda sad to turn it back in come May....but actually talking with my Volvo salesman today about purchasing a preowned XC90! Fingers crossed it goes well! @@thom-lov
China tends to only shut down during Chinese new Year, which just was. But then there is NOTHING moving for 2-3 weeks. Shipping is rail, that’s why Volvo is faster than many others these days.

got my EX30 Twin Motor Ultra last week.. I love the car, but too many things are not working. The App, the Infotainment, the UWB key... It's frustrating. Worst thing that happened is a complete failure of the screen for a whole day. It went green, blue, red, black... couldn't see how fast I'm going, no music, nothing. But in general the car is great lol
I suggest you try a HUD app for your smartphone, which gets vehicle speed from GPS satellites. You put your phone on the dashboard in front of you and ir reflects off the windscreen back to your eyesight. I am not sure if the angle of the EX30 is right for this, though.
Neat car, but just too small for families with baby seats.

Sorry I’m Volvo owned by a Chinese company. It might be manufactured in Sweden but I don’t think Swedish uniqueness is still employed. It’s down to Chinese mass production so why would they tell you when they change things? Do they have to wake up and stop being a Volvo wanker?
