I think it was 1969-1970 that the Porsche 917 took control of that type of racing away from Ferrari. Watch Steve McQueen in "Le Mans" if you haven't already seen it, to see those cars in action. That psychedelic Dodge is one of my favorites so far this year! I've already picked up a couple of them.
Hey, thank you for the info on the Porsche 917! I think I might have had one as a plastic model kit as a kid? Or something similar. This Porsche is one of my favs from this haul.
Why doesn't anyone talk about what they spent on gas running around. Serious question, think of it like this. How much money are you willing to spend to have a chance at something you can make your costs back? Its like playing pull tabs, how much are you willing to spend before you give up not finding a winner.
I do this for the fun of the hobby. While it's nice to know you found something popular that mighty be worth more than a couple dollars that usually fades in time until the next hot thing comes along. I used to hunt because it gave me something to do. Now I just look when I am already out shopping or pass by a store and have time to stop and look. You can also buy a lot online and have it delivered to your house. It's not always necessary to go out.
@@jarc02 The reason I quit 20 years ago is because of the hype, all new cars get hyped and then bought, and then just sit there and you can't even give them away. I had to look deep and ask myself do I really like this car or am I being influenced by the hype? I ended up with tubs full of worthless HW's that I litterally couldn't even give away to collectors, 90% of my collection was given away at Halloween or Toys for Tots. When I look at HW's today nothing really excites me and its the same hype surrounding the new stuff. My collection is now down to about 100 cars and that's it.
That Porsche 917 is awesome.
Yup! I agree!
Nice. You got the Skyline. I wasn't able too.
Sometimes I get lucky?

@@SLINKYETH But all everyone talks about is the money, at least for the most part.
