Over Covid they were not budging on prices. Now they have to because there is more inventory than buyers with new year models sitting. Find the right volume dealer to work with. Or move on to someone else.

Great info you gave everyone. This is how I always did it. Take 15% off msrp, that’s what your willing to pay. Give them $200 bucks as a doc fee. Accept no other fees. If your financing it you will probably get close to the deal i just laid out, just make sure yiur not more than 2 points above their buy rate. If you are then negotiate it down. Or leave. Start talking about the deal around the 25th of the month and be ready to close it by the last day of the month. If they are close to their #s they will do the deal. If their not close, you might not get the deal i said! If your a cash buyer, your not going to get the deal above. You might get 5% off msrp. Best is to do the deal with financing and pay it off with your first statement.

So how do you figure out a hold backs on a particular vehicle? I tried negotiating on a 2023 (previously unowed) and they would not budge on the price.
