Class! Great to see Father and Son Team working well together. The Father willing to pass his knowledge and experience and the best part is the son is willing to hear, listen and watch. Alex will be set for life with this training and more importantly he will have the memories of working and learning from his Dad. In turn Steve's legacy will continue in brick and blockwork for many years to come. I worked with my bricklayer Dad as a teenager and young adult so I know that this team is special and their work is top class. My Dad wasn't as easy to work with or for but I still learnt a lot and have those special memories. Steve and Alex are class and by far the best brickies I have ever seen.

Hi boys like you say bit off an easy day for ya but still neat job ... think you will find the reason why the plaster was blown was they used a steamer to remove the paper on the walls ... have had this before the steamer is left on the wall to long in one place it heats up to much and blows the plaster keep up the good work ... dad seemed to be moving bit better with his back liked the bit at the end while you finishing up lol
So nice to see you both working together well as always. Nice bit of humour at the end. You certainly do a wonderful job. Hope your hip is getting better. Look forward to the next video.
Hey Guys Good stuff and I know from past experience about keeping dust down. I once did a similar job, switches in so you could take for granted where the door would travel. Door hanger (not a tradesman) came in and hung door to "cover" light switch, wood butcher chiselling marks all over, Guess who had to come in and put it right. got it yet?? Bob (Weston super Mare)
Do you have to put longitudinal reinforcing or do you just rely on the double wall for strength. Here in Utah we put "ladder" metal every so often depending on the application . We are in earthquake country so I am sure that makes a huge difference . Love the channel! I worked with my papa until he died some 30 years together! Best days of my life! I really miss the old man, now I am the old man and I have 4 beautiful daughters that haven't so far shown any interest in the getting dirty part of my professional life!
No, cavity wall without any reinforcement is standard over in the Uk . Our worst enemy is winter storms . It is a blessing to work with Alex and I’m so glad to hear you got to work with your dad 🤙🏾🤙🏾. Can’t think why your daughters ain’t interested 🤔😆😆🧱👍🏽
Great job as usual guys, how would you cut out an external 9" brick wall for French doors or similar, can you use stitch drilling or best to get the disc cutter out?
If you can afford it buy an Arbor tec. Cuts thru like butter, 90% less dust. But obverse £1000. But worth if thars what you do or hire. I've got one. And no can't borrow 😂
@ 45:08 Why does Steve look like he's got his Deep Sea Diving Boots on...😮 😂😂😂 BTW great video guys & glad Alex had an easier day this time... bet the homeowner got a few long and stressful days ahead of them though. 👊
Great job as usual but I noticed your light switches, aren't they high ! ( Don't they want the kids to be able to turn the lights on or something ? ) 😀
It might look an easy job Alex but it’s always top class. Loved the part at the end when Steve kept looking around the new door opening. Steve that small pick that you were breaking the bricks with is that the one you are using for attempt on Everest ?😂😂😂😂
Hi Steve and Al thanks for the video I thoroughly enjoyed it that plaster didn't take much removing the worst part of any job working inside customer's premises is keeping it clean, You two certainly keep to this if you were in the Gatwick area I am certain you would have more work than you could manage.

Did you use slate to pack up the new lintel tight under wall?
No mate 🧱👍🏽

Cutter outside. Drill inside 🧱👍🏽

Nice easy job for you boys 😊. Just a quick one but how come you left the timber lintel in and not just knock it out and block up to brick above?
Thanks. The lintel had been there for about 50 years without any problems so no point weakening the wall taking it out 🧱👍🏽
Love the eyeball roll - yes dad! LOL
🙄😆🧱👍🏽
Nice job with demolishing how to put in a tie. What wasn’t explained was the reason for the change in door position.
No idea 😆🧱👍🏽
