Hi! Need your help pls. You make it all sound simple :) Thank you. Does it always have to be the Music folder or can a new folder be created? Also can one back up directly to an external HDD? I have a iPhone-5S iOS 8.4.1(Never backed up) & got an iPhone-8 iOS 12.1.2, yet to back up or update ios. Had given it to a mobile shop that copied it from 5s to 8 via phone to phone I think but not sure. I would like to make individual backups for each phone on my external HDD. I CANNOT afford to lose the call logs, msgs, pics from my old iPhone 5S. Please advice. Would be very grateful. Thank you :)

A small question; I have many old iPhones with family pics on them which I can back up like you said but my current iPhone 8 is backed up to the cloud so I'm worried to lose pics and music from those old ones. Ideally I'd like everything now to be on the cloud. Apologies for the long question, hope you get the issue and can help.
You can continue backing up iPhone to iCloud. There is an option in iTunes to backup iPhone to PC or iCloud. Keep the selection to iCloud. Your Pics and Music will e in iCloud and wont be affected by iTunes library.

Yes friend. It is same for Mac as well and you want to select OPTION key on Mac instead SHIFT key. And yes, if you don't do so, it'll open last used iTunes Library. 😊

I guess it reads something that forces it to think it is the old iPhone and needs to be restored. Do I need to flush cache or reset something in iTunes?
Excellent video explanation, HOWEVER I am NOT getting the small window to open after "SHIFT-iTunes". I originally did when creating a new library, but after exiting and then "SHIFT-iTunes" again to select a library, iTunes opened up. On a mac here. Not getting an option to create a library. My bad, i needed to press and hold thew alt key. I thought it was command or ctrl. But i did find out that if you click on an app in the app bar while holding down command it takes you to that app in Finder.

You can change phone name simply by going to iPhone settings -- general -- About -- Name. For changing everything back to earlier stage, only way to restore data from old backup which I won't recommend coz you'll lose some of the data in this case if you don't have the recent backup. DO changes manually on iPhone and that would be the better option. 😊

Adding new iphone will not reset it. It’ll sync your iPhone with iTunes. But, this will mix up data with old iPhone. So before you launch iTunes, hold SHIFT key on your keyboard and create new iTunes library. Follow settings of iTunes shown in the video for new iTunes library. And once it is created, add your new iPhone to this new iTunes library 😊

You’re second iPhone will backup to your computer unless you setup and external link as you’ve done for your first iPhone. This method will require you to manually move iOS backup to external HDD after backing upto your computer. I hope this helps 😊

My sister backed up her iPhone in her iTunes account. If i use my iTunes account, make a library and set up as new iPhone, will it affect my sister’s backup?
Firstly, make separate iTunes library for separate Apple IDs. Also, I recommend to sign out of your Apple ID in iTunes when your switching the users. This will make sure purchases and data is kept separately. Your backups will not be affected 😅
With this method, if I backup my mom's phone and my own phone in different libraries, our contacts and everything else will stay separated like using a different user method on the computer? Thank you

Make sure you use authentic Apple cable and unlock iPhone when you connect iPhone to iTunes. Press 'Trust this computer' button when it prompts on iPhone 😊
you need to connect (with cable I mean) phone first to PC and then do SHIFT+click on ITunes, if phone is not connected then choose library window will not pop up

If you synced music from another iTunes on your second iPhone earlier, this new iTunes won’t be able to add songs to this second iPhone unless it deletes old songs. That’s how iTunes is designed 🤕

Make sure you launch the correct library by holding the shift button and also make sure hidden files are enabled on your PC

Not possible with itunes but possible with third party softwares. Checkout playlist number 13 on the channel for these softwares

Does back up includes full data of the iphone i am trying to backup? Photos, contacts, etc
Yes, it includes everything. Make sure you select ENCRYPTED BACKUP option 😊

Friend, those songs can only be played on Jio app. Can not be copied to Apple Music 🤕

This seems to be a bug. Did you try restarting iTunes? Rebooting iPhone? 🤒

Yes. You want to use only one iTunes and have separate libraries.
