I went to his concert the night before I wrote the biggest exam of my life. While my fellow students were cram studying for the Bar I was at the university theatre listening to Iggy rock this shit out. I was so relaxed the next day I wrote that fucker and ended up scoring in the 99th percentile. I’m convinced going to that concert was one of the best decisions of my life!

Very Cool Iggy, one of my favorite"other band guitarist" collab's Iggy has done over the years. A Iggy & Wayne Kramer project would be very Cool. Steve Jones was way under rated as a player because people viewed the Pistols as sloppy, when in fact they were very good, tight playing trio when they started. Iggy is still "Knockin them dead" in the city. I have seen Iggy at almost all Detroit gigs since late 70's and he was one of my favorite artists from The Stooges start all the way to now. Who the Fuck voted this down?

Pure rock; at the same time probably Iggy at his most digestible! Some deemed it a left turn, following up Blah-Blah-Blah, but it was just right for Iggy to embrace his hard rock and metal roots. Rock and Metal was pretty big in '88, hell ...And Justice For All went platinum 9 weeks after it was released that year. Iggy has good instincts, he knew what he wanted to do, and it was also exactly what his fans wanted from him; a no non-sense American rock record, and a fun one to boot. He learned a lot from Blah-Blah-Blah as far as being a commercial success tapping into pop sensibility; you can hear it, hell it peaked at 110 on the Billboard Top 200. It didn't go platinum but it's still a solid record.
In comparison to Party, which I like more for different reasons albeit a flawed tongue in cheek punk piss take at making a commercial record during the new wave scene, Instinct spanks it with catchy hard rock song craft. Another way Instinct outshines Party is that it's cohesive, clear, confident, and straight forward. I like Party though, it has it's ups and downs, yet there's some gold nuggets and I like how he pays some homage to classics like Sea of Love and Time Wont Let Me; the brass all over Party makes me feel like Iggy is a punk Vegas lounge singer like he's Frank Sinatra or something which makes me smile. But I digress. Instinct rules because it rocks plain and simple; Cold Metal baby~

I remember this when I started at community college!
I remember pretty well... i drove my first car, when this track popped up on the radio. I instantly had to stop, had to turn it up to 11, this riff just blew my mind. And it was one of the moments, when i crossed my fingers, hoping the radio guy would say what song and band it was. I was lucky this night, he did. Totally into this ever since. Best regards from south germany in the early 2000s, when this story happened, can you imagine?
