Many of the aircraft from WW II have the ability to operate from a Highway, farm fields and in essence, an airfield is not always needed. They can also fly lower and slower making target acquisition easier.

I’m surprised nobody’s thought to send over super Tucanos. They could be outfitted to do something similar and could also be useful for CAS in some areas.
@@Samuel-hd3cp it would be dangerous but doable. They can fly low enough to stay under the radar and don’t have a really high IR signature. I’m not sure how many straight up AAA systems Russia has kicking around the frontlines.
Why no mainstream media talked about this? I find this difficult to be true. I mean how do the ukranians detect the drones in the first place? is the YAK-52 always in the air without need for refueling?
I heard about this a couple of month ago, not from mainstream media tho. Do you really think the ukrainians would tell you how they detect those drones and give away their secrets for free? There are multiple ways to detect those drones. I can think of multiple different ways. The yak only needs to be sent on a mission and then go on a mission when a drone is detected.
The term "drone" to describe unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is thought to have originated in 1935 when the British produced radio-controlled aircraft for training purposes. The term "drone" has been used to refer to UAVs since at least 1946, and the U.S. Navy also used the term in 1936 to describe radio-controlled aerial targets. How do you cite "Google AI generated?"

bullshit..slow,unarmored prop plane that can be downed wwith anything from 5.56 up in caliber..they `d be shot down by infantrymen and anything with a gun mounted..plus the triple a systems..so try to hit a small 30 by 30 cm to 50 by 50 cm target whilst yr flying shooting out of a window with the target on distance and on the move?.. i call BS!
1)Slow, unarmoured prop plane flying well behind the lines is beyond the reach of small arms and triple A systems, so they aren't a threat. 2) flying things aren't easy to hit from the ground, even if they did get close enough 3)while a 5.56 can theoretically bring one of these aeroplanes down, you have to hit something critical, like the fuel system or the pilot. You can poke a lot of holes in an aeroplane without hitting anything critical. And that isn't easy. Just go skeet shooting and find out. 4) the drones are looking ahead and down. They can't see the prop plane sneaking up behind them, so have no reason to do evasive maneuvers, meaning that they are flying flat and level to get the best images for their cameras. 5) the prop plane and the drone are almost stationary relative to each other. They're not dogfighting them. Hitting a 30x30 to 50x50cm target at 100m with a machine gun is completely possible. I've done it. Doing so with said light machine gun sticking out the window of a moving vehicle at a target that is moving at the same speed in the same direction as the shooter is also possible.
