    I get a bear tag when deer hunting, just in case, but I think they coat that tag with bear repellent because I never find a bear when I can legally take one.
    Edit,
    I learned quite a lot from this video, but where I live, Spring Bear is not possible. How about a fall bear video?

    Just curious? I hunt in California and seen the same exact brown bear in the same area just before season opening. Do bears move around or will they stay in the same area as long as they have food and water?

    • @huntingforfood7107
      @huntingforfood7107  2 года назад +1

      I think it just depends, iv found that bears can be very random. But if they have food and water in an area they’ll have no reason to leave.

    Tips for e-scouting for guys coming from east side of country? I did my first bear hunt this past spring in idaho- I e-scouted a ton before that trip and it wasn’t enough. When you have no idea what terrain is like it’s hard to narrow down to a unit, let alone picking random spot on a map. We don’t have the option to scout it ahead of time in person, and we have limit on days. Wondering what advice you have to help narrow focus down for people that have no way of scouting other than e-scouting

Most people are afraid you’ll steal spot- which unfortunately happens….. so I understand why most are tight lipped. There are just certain units I’m tempted to try and it’s huge to be able to ask someone whose been in that unit about terrain or road access, burns…..

    Great video! Spring bear is an amazing pursuit. Your comments about wolves and elk are mostly incorrect. First, elk abundance in Wyoming and Montana is the highest it’s been in over a century, even with increased wolf numbers. How do you explain that? I am less familiar with Idaho. Second, the vast majority of adult elk mortality is human caused. Look at almost any study of hunted elk populations. Distribution of elk is a different topic. Third, the “Canadian” wolf comment is just false. I’m happy to provide specific references if anybody would like them 👍🦌🐺 Good luck out there.
