    I’ve got 2, both olive green. A large, dumped the liner, fits perfectly & used 2/3 of the year, & an extra large, with liner, used in cold weather. I waterproof both with Tent proofer. Best jackets I’ve ever had.

      No more - nowadays! Alpha doesn't produce the standard military issue for a hell long time. What you can get - is the "heritage" version, without liner, nowadays - and at least into europe, you pay some 220+ bucks for it, plus extra tons of cash for the Alpha Liner - it's not included, anyway. Nowadays, made in China, quality is by no means anything close, to the original standard military issue. I have two green ones, one made into USA, the other one Fabric made into the USA, but build (sewed) together in China - go figure!
      If you look at the polish firm Helikon-Tex, they're very popular, they've licensed the original US M65 classic design - and comes with an incl. Liner - all for less than 100 EUR, compared to the Alpha, go figure ! Nowadays, you pay more for the (fashion) brand name Alpha, never for it's quality. Any 20 bucks standard military issue M65 (from whatever brand being made) is better, than a >200 bucks M65 new.

    Have had mine for a few years.
    Yeah, the sleeves are too long and there's no way to roll them up neatly.
    I hate the various patches on the chest and especially the chevrons on the sleeve which are conspicuously absent from all marketing material. The chevrons show exactly nowhere on any website selling this jacket, not even on Brandit's own website.
    The fabric has disappointed me a bit. Managed to snag a side pocket on something and the fabric, not the seam, tore.
    The upside is that it's warm. Been using it down to -28C without the liner and it's been warm enough as such. I once used the liner with a thin windbreaker at -15C and it was way too warm. Not often you can say that.

    • @WorldSurvivalist
      @WorldSurvivalist  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah I've had it a good bit of time now. Much thr same as you I think its warm but with not much more going for it. I've stopped using it as a bushcraft jacket as I have far better ones now but I like to use it as an every day jacket. I still like the retro look but I wish I'd got the green rather than black as the faded look is much better on green. Like an old nam vet

    It's not a real M65 jacket, i mean 1) it's made in China (no offense) 2) I am wearing M65 for a hell long time. The original was invented by Alpha Industries - and at Nam times, being build by more than like 7-10+ contractors, of the US military, different firms. For instance, Proper, Golden MfG, and so on...I have 2 olive green original Alphas, one OG-107, one blue, two black Alphas, one Helikon-Tex M65 in black (closest to original), two Brandit M65 from Brandit standard black, and one M65 Giant here into black, also from Brandit. And also a standard military issue from Alpha Industries, woodland, from 1985.

    • @WorldSurvivalist
      @WorldSurvivalist  2 года назад +2

      Its holding up very well, the colour is faded but it ads to that sort off look. Its far more robust than a nylon type jacket. Also to be honest its the sort of thing that will look good with random repairs and a bit of weathering. I use it in woods and just push through branches no problem
