OMG this is the gold plated Hornby flying Scotsman that Sam’sTrains reported on in a news video. I had no idea that the flying Scotsman toured the US. I guess it was for the centenary of the TCRR. You definitely don’t need to run this locomotive ever again. 1 lap on the Train Tsar Fun railway is enough. Keep it on display now and preserve the 18 carat gold plating forever. Models like this is why British locomotives may not be as grand in size as American or European locomotives but is why British locomotives are the best in the world. The flying Scotsman and mallard have class. First view and comment
flying Scotsman had an extended stay in San Francisco at the end of the tour, Sir Alan tried to pay for the upkeep, by selling rides up and down the waterfront. She never made much money, but as a ten year old I certainly contributed my fair share.
Great video and my wee lad who is 6 and train and Thomas obsessed loves your videos. We were lucky a year ago in 2019 we knew the Flying Scotsman was doing a tour of Scotland and we managed to visit Boness heritage railway and see it getting out away for the evening. The people were so kind the let him look inside the drivers cab. And amazing train and just massive in size with both it's tender's. We love the videos and look forward to viewing many more..
Stunning train, thankfully we still have the real deal steaming around here in the UK. |I saw her in the flesh in 2018 as she steamed through my home town.
@@bennickss I don't particularly like that it went to the USA, but for Alan Pegler (the locos then owner) it was the only viable way to keep her running at a profit (which failed due to several complicated reasons). The bell and cowcatcher are legal requirements for locos in the USA, and whistles have to produce a certain amount of decibels too, hence the larger chime whistle
Wow, that Flying Scotsman looks absolutely gorgeous! Have you ever thought about buying more Hornby products? They would be great for reviews and such!
This is a seriously beautiful locomotive, but I’m not sure if I would want to spend the money to just have it sit around. I’m like you I like to run my trains. So I think I might just look for one that isn’t gold plated on eBay.
Beautifull. The Bell, Lamp, front whistle and cow grill were all specially commisioned for the USA tour. This model represents the rebuilt original Flying Scotsman which was originally an A1 class. The second Flying Scotsmants was built as an A3 which has the double chimney. I would display this model on its plynth and sat on its box. Thanks for sharing this lovely model.
You can never have too many favourite steamies. Picture this. Up till not so long ago, I had a line-up of only five model/real steamies. Now a new sixth favourite model steamy, Rood Ashton Hall, has joined that line-up, and I haven't even met her in real life yet. I can be very charming and gently persuasive when I want to be, and I don't always use a certain little magic word. But pretty please run Scottie again. I'll bat my eyelashes to see her running if I have to. Hope this is enough to persuade you.
Hi my name is Phil I started on the footplate on the footplate at edgeley shed on the 4th of April 1961in 1962 I was made a fireman I did 50yrs on the footplate finished my time out at 9A but on the 19th of February 1973 I fired the flying Scotsmen from Manchester to derby works and on the 25th of August I fired lender from derby to Manchester it looks good Regards Phil.
Definitely going to buy this on my next paycheck. And two tenders is actually accurate to the Flying Scotsman's USA Tour and even dating back to when it was recorded at 100MPH, not just in the way of Thomas. I do believe it also had other modifications when visiting other countries, too. For the USA Tour, it was given Knuckle Couplers, the traditional USA Locomotive Lamp, and Cowcatchers (the latter of which could also technically be used as a Snowplow) to be useable on the USA Loading Gauge. That's what I've researched, anyways.
The The Flying Scotsman also toured Australia in the 1988 you can look that up on the internet but this Hornby Flying Scotsman is amazing I just wish Hornby would have also made the same version not gold plated!!!!
Hay it's jabbo. Just fount yar other channel model train s are fun. Bean morning to look it up. An as I Waching train show on tv about train all around the world. It was time to look yar channel up....
I have a train clock that has The Flying Scotsman. There's a sign locomotive indicating directions to New York and Los Angeles. The image had me confused until I found out about the US tour of the Flying Scotsman. The artist took some liberties left out the American add-ons.
@@TrainTsarFun sorry typo you didn't leave anything out. I meant things that were already attached to the front of the model are missing from the picture on the clock like the knuckle coupler. Bell in headlight. Basically picture on my clock is in the locomotive British form. It is what it is.
That's every Collectors's fear about buying this. It's about the Gold going away, accidentally dropping it, etc. My fear is that if one of the delivery people just don't give a fuck, being lazy, and deciding to throw the box at the door and just walk away. It happened to me before.
I've heard the gold plating wears easy, I hope you clean the wheels often on your locos! Maybe a video on cleaning bachmann Thomas' wheels and mechanism?
Hay I had to leave early and could not watch the whole video. And I was only trying to help keep the model in shape and to make Sure you know just in case

Please do another collection video

Love this Flying Scotsman model.

It was owned by the government for a while
You lucky man you...
@@scubajoe3321 the government funded the first year, then they pretty much turned their back on the engine!

Sams trains reported about this outstanding and his unique engine on his monthly releases Congratulations on getting it
I am very happy to buy so I can see it in person. Even on video it looks better in person. Thanks!
I can’t believe you actually ran it, because I know I wouldn’t
Absolutely amazing model, and thanks again for running it!
Stunning train, thankfully we still have the real deal steaming around here in the UK. |I saw her in the flesh in 2018 as she steamed through my home town.
This is a beautiful model
It sure is
When it came to the USA they had to put a bell on it
Train rules I guess
Every engine needs a bell in the usa
@@aidenmckinney7648 I think we all know that

Flying scotsman is an amazing locomotive
Im glad you reveived our most famous british locomotive in british history and hornby is british

Real nice model got one too more guts then me I would never run mine super model love it

IT’S BEAUTIFUL!!!!
I Love 50th Anniversary Hornby Flying Scotsman Model😍♥️
"Good luck, little brother."
i love flying scotsman
I’m glad you ran it. Even if it is such a rare and expensive model I think all models should be used and not permanently displayed.
Thank you for saying that
I have Train orders for the flying Scotsman when it came to my hometown
Amazing
Cool
Wow Flying Scotsman looks Shiny and Gold
This is cool!
I like trains
(Gordon o face): MY BROTHER!?!?!
LOL Good joke.
I would definitely get one if it wasn’t gold plated and had a working headlight.
MachRacer4 hehw

i love this train
It's great locomotive with gold wheels and rest
I"d love to see the Flying Scotsman and Gordon together.
The Flying Scotsman travelled way farther than big boy 4014 The Flying Scotsman the super duper cool
Scratch that
This is one I’d love to purchase, but the second I notice the gold is wearing, or any signs of damage, I’d probably end up crying.

You might of heard that from my voice reading that in this video
They need to make a normal scotsman like this
There is a non gold plated Flying Scotsman tour set from a few years ago. Might be a better option for those worried about the gold wearing away.
She is a beaut
Should’ve ordered 2
when bachmann starts selling stuff again, can you do a review on the N-Scale Thomas bachmann released
wow
If only Bachmann made Flying Scotsman from the CGI Thomas series.
The actual flying scotsman usa tour used pullman carriages.
English pullman carriages though, imported with the engine.
Flying Scotsman vs CFR train no.1
The British did well thank you I am british btw and an possibly seeing the original flying scotsman to day
with going to america it had to have the bell and lamp fitted usa regulations
Do a updated Flying Scotsman collection video
Trains tsar fun: its beautiful
Me:UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE CENTURY
It should have US Knuckle couplers on the back since it's the US Tour one...
it is good
Woah !!!!!!!!
Hey train tsar fun, maybe you can connect that second tender to the Bachmann Gordon with no driving wheels
Do a southern pacific collection
I've got number 241 :)
That’s a beautiful model. But is it compatible for bachmann ms power brick and track?
Can you do a TOMY Trackmaster collection video?
I cried
Incredible locomotive. How much was it I live in Pittsburgh and I just ordered a horn BJ 36 with TTS sound can’t wait to get it
My least favorite thing about the model is the gold plating which is very in accurate compared to the 2013 version
we nearly lost it but a guy in the uk bought it and shipped it back we nealy lost it
Then are like the trains I rob on red dead 🤣
HOW
What radius track will it run on 18? Beautiful engine!
This layout is 18" radius so it does run on that
