- The idea behind any marriage among many the idea of producing heirs to further your line. While the match between King Daeron ii Targaryen and his Dornish queen was a political match, they all did there duty in providing heirs in the form of three sons. Baelor Breakspear, Aerys i, Rhaegel Targaryen, and Maekar I Targaryen. All strong princes, but even in there there were coals to start the fires of the Blackfyre Rebellion.

Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen was trapped on Dragonstone by her brother King Aegon ii with no way to escape her fate. What was to come was the final showdown between the two main players of the dance of the dragons and bring the war into its final phase. The House of the dragon was crumbling and the events that was about to follow would only cause more damage to both sides of the war.

Well, that opens up the path of in-betweens, does it not? We have all sorts of Targaryens
Overall, pretty decent kids for the most part. Nothing too bad... well, aside from Rhaegal, a bit of an odd kid.
Still, Daeron II "The Good" really did live up to his name, still surprised many fans who side with the Blackfyre's who also try to defame Daeron.
Still a shame that many of these Targaryens still end up dead for the most part rather prematurely. All these names, yet now in the main series, we have only the one. (That we know of for sure).

Daeron II did plenty of good when he took the Throne, he didn't need to be a super renowned warrior. Look, I myself enjoy a cool Warrior-King.
Daeron the Young Dragon is one of my favorite Targaryens, and I've defended him plenty of times, but I admit that there are other things than can make (or break) a solid King.
For me, it's not that I dislike Daeron. I just like King Daemon Blackfyre and his father more. I also hate Bloodraven
Daeron and his sons were the smiling happy wholesome frontmen of the regime while Bloodraven worked the real levers of power
