I imagine that during the conquest, the Dornish were living in underground caverns like a fremen sietch.
Tbh, Dorne held out but definitely got nuked into a dry (well, dryer) wasteland so yeah, pretty much Arrakis 😅
You should learn about Christians of Capadochia.
I literally just got done watching dune part 1 and 2, closed my movie app, opened RUclips, clicked on this video and your comment was the first thing I saw
Dorne deserved better in the GoT show. The entire Dornish plot felt rushed and under-developed.
All of GoT was
Every house needed a show
It's underdeveloped in the books. And not just because it's really in only the last two and because twow's delays, but its not even all that compelling in the short time it appears.
Interesting story, has George written anything regarding House Targaryens feelings towards Tolands new sigil? That sort of mockery wouldn't typically go unnoticed.
GRRM hasn’t written anything in years.
@@user-zp4pt7rx1kA fool’s assumption lol
Written and published are two very different things....pretty sure a lot of JRR Tolkiens stories were not published until after his death by his son. Not the Hobbit or Lord of the rings but others...
@@AllegiancyGRRM haven’t published any works in years
Considering that they made the change in sigil over a century before the integration of Dorne into the Seven Kingdoms, not really that relevant what the Targaryens thought.
You forgot to include that they killed meraxses and reynes
Meraxes*
Rhaenys*
It’s interesting how the Dornish people including Nymeria and her people are from the cities & area of the Mother Rhoyne in Essos. Her ancestors and people (the Rhoynar) fought in the Rhoynish Wars for many centuries against the Valyrian Freehold. Therefore, it makes total sense that Dorne is more prepared against the Targaryen conquest and is less willing to “bend the knee”. They’re already predisposed to not like Valyrians and dragons. I’m sure stories are told across generations so these Dornish people and even ‘The Children of the Greenblood’ all already feel a certain way.
Anyway, it would be cool if GRRM could ever include a book about Dorne w their history since they were separate and not a part of the original “Seven Kingdoms’… I doubt this will ever happen as we have already been waiting for so long for TWOW.
I just want water mages
The strategy of the Dornish against the Targs is entirely different from the strategies used by the Rhoynar against the Valyrians. There were no working strategies or weapons brought with the Rhoynar so it makes no sense to think of them as being more prepared because of their heritage. If they brought anything with them, it was stories that leave one overall cultural impression "Don't fight dragons". Whereas the standard Dornish strategy, Dorne being almost always outnumbered and outresourced by it's enemies is to strike and then disappear into the desert/mountains; don't fight pitched battles against superior foes. The collective wisdom of both heritages leads to the same strategy. I'm not certain that the Dornish, absent Rhoynar heritage would have had a different strategy than what ended up happening. But if anything, it simply reinforced their own inclinations. If the Dornish were better prepared, it was only better prepared to hide and endure hardship and material loss. Let's not forget that they also had the examples of the entirety of Aegon's conquest of the other kingdoms as example. There's enough other factors there to give credit to that don't require the Rhoynar heritage thesis to work; but if it did anything, it again, reinforced their inclinations. The North chose to bend the knee, which is entirely antithetical to their pre-existing millennia old inclinations; so lets not discount how important the example of Harrenhal and the Field of Fire were, or how important individuals leaders are to these things (Meria Martell was a tough, stubborn, and belligerant old toad)
Green and Gold are also the colors of the Cheque Lion and the apples of Fossaway's. To me, it reads like House Toland had something to do with what happened to Rheanys.
The Green and Gold of House Osgrey, House Toland and House Fossoway (of New Barrel) had nothing to do with Rhaenys:
House Toland chose the colour scheme because the Jester that got killed dressed in Green and Yellow
The founder of House Fossoway of New Barrel (The Green Apple Fossoways) fought againist his cousin a Red Apple Fossoway in Trial by Seven during the Adventures of Dunk and Egg set around early 200s, he choose the colour Green because his cousin claimed he was too green to be knight earlier that day.
House Osgrey is a very ancient house who probably chose the colours on a whim.
got is a flat earch or what? there should be north and south poles. Hence, this is just Europe till the morrocan side of Africa. (Drone). Westeros is brit stretching till artic belt, and Essos side is Europe. Hence, there should be a western side of that globe. Maybe arya finds American landscape lol.
Found this new channel about A song of ice and fire and I love it! Keep up the good work!
South of Westerose has the last words in the books and the whole story.
I mean, what's cool and all... but what does anyone really know about House Toland? 😅
I hate how shit they portrayed this badass region in the show
This might be obscure but god this makes me wanna play house Toland in the CK3 (Crusader Kings 3) AGOT mod and marry a targaryen princess, get a dragon, either take over dorne or the iron throne, and increase the amount of dragon riders and make a new free hold with a couple dragon families (by marrying my own and targaryen kids off)
Going by show lore… I can see House Toland taking over Dorne after House Martell goes extinct 🐉
I wonder how things would've shaken out, if Aegon had sent Visenya to Dorne, instead of Rhaenys?
I don't see Visenya being dissuaded as easily, regardless of The Toad's words.
Visenya probably would have just burnt the whole nation down .
The dornish would continue gAuruella tactics with visenya doing a maintenence burning every few years untill she finally decided to wipe out all life in dorne
The Scorpion bolts are very persuasive, especially face to face.
@@drrohanjacob I feel like that would have been better in the long run. Dorne is an awful place.

goods work and nice video
Great video! I really enjoy the dornish plot in the books. I must make myself clear it sucks that we have to do this but yeah the books Dornish plot, not the show.
The targs should have unleshed the krakens instead of their dragons.
Haha that ghost could not have possibly been House Tolands banner. That would be funny
Ck2!!!!
Good morning, Zorse! :D Great video - keep em coming!
The sheer disrespect lmao
