main difference is the show aged up most characters....present audience could not imagine, in the not too distant past, that teenagers could be head of states, fight wars or be married as young as 12
Yeah, but I kinda love how the show shifted the aspect from loving Catelyn for her appearance to loving her for her nobility, for the value she has for a sociopath like Baelish. I like the interpretation that young Catelyn was beautiful to Petyr's eye because she meant everything to him, but that she is actually not a Margaery tier supermodel. I really love the casting of Catelyn Stark as a woman-next-door beauty, a face radiating motherly kindness, warmth, wisdom and femininity.

Robb is exactly the way that I imagined he would look when I read a fan fiction story titled “Frostfyre”. In that story Robb and Margaery get married and fall for each other. I can see how handsome he would appear to Margaery, and Robb was struck by how beautiful she was.
Well I’m glad we still have talented casting directors because I think the show was spot on in capturing the essence of each character. CERSI couldn’t be played by any other human on earth… no matter how they look & that is pure writing/ cinematic/ acting magic!
I think we all can agree that the actors were chosen so well that they truly brought justice to the characters. (the only inconvenience were Dany s eyes, not purple in series)
They tried. Emilia could not wear the contact lenses. They could have added it in post production as they did to Vivien Leigh in Gone With the Wind, but chose not to.
I guess they say for Renly's eyes - sometimes green sometimes blue because in the books GRRM first description of his eyes is that he wears green that matches his eyes. He admitted in an interview that the green was a mistake spotted later by his colleagues. His eyes were always intended to be blue as all Baratheons. It was a fun thing to learn. George makes mistakes as well with such minor things. After all it ia a vast world he created. 😅
We need more, there are a lot of characters missing: Tyrion, Tywin, Varys, The hound, The mountain, and the list goes on and on. Night King would be amazing to see too, since it was CGIed into the series, I`d like to see if they nailed it. And also...We need....Rose!
AI made them all look completely unrealistic tho. This is like a list of the most attractive plastic people on the planet. Nobody looks like that IRL lol. I don't see even a single freckle. The women all look way younger and more beautiful than they should too. Catelyn's had a ton of kids, lived outside for decades without sunscreen, and is probably in her forties, and yet she looks like a model. When an HBO cast of attractive actors looks more attainable in comparison, you've set some really unrealistic expectations in your audience.
I do agree they've all been prettified and they've got some things wrong but to be fair the show actually made Ned and Catelyn about 15 years older than the books. They were meant to be in their mid thirties.
There's actually been a few articles of criticism towards AI art being "too pretty". It's definitely something that needs to be taken into account when they're training their models.
You must not of read the books. Ned stark is probably about 33 no older than 35 in the first book Catelyn is around the same age. Jaime and Cersei are the oldest being 39 maybe 40. Most of the people shown are also from the hugest house considered the most beautiful people in westoros especially Cersei, Catelyn, margary and Sansa. King Robert was also considered hot af in the past and are my and Gendry are supposed to look just like them. Joffrey is also considered a pretty boy in the books. And the targeryans are considered the most beautiful. A song of ice and fire is a fantasy book. The show did not include even half of the magic in the books. Most of these characters are seen as otherworldly. So these AI pics are more accurate than the show
I would consider it a detrimental decision if you swapped actors from show with those smug pictures. The main function of character design (actor, acting style, hairstyle, makeup, clothing... ) is to differentiate each character from the rest. Those pictures feature too similar looking people (especially women) And in the show I only experienced weird similarity between Roose Bolton and Tywin Lannister. Though it was probably due to the fact that at times Bolton was poorly lit. Overall the quality of character designs for the show I consider very high and they never have to be 100 percent as in book. Just true to the general intention or idea.
Beautiful depictions. I love the casting choices for the show as they really balanced the descriptions with what was needed for the storyline - for example, the actress for Catelyn Stark wasn’t as young or traditionally beautiful as in the books but had a real strength conveyed in her appearance that was vital for the dramatic scenes - but enjoyed seeing what they look like according to the novels. A few even look quite similar to the actors that portrayed them. The one miss was Greyworm. If taken and castrated as a child, I find it hard to believe that he would have aged into such a stocky example that was given and imagined him more as was depicted with a leaner build.
I absolutely love the ai portraits. When I was reading the book years before the show I imagined them approximately like that. I needed quite some time to get used to the series characters' looks after years of imagining them totally different.
How can someone see Arya as ugly and mistake her for a boy if it is her orginal apperance? I think she is really pretty in this video, I can even say she is as pretty as Sansa. Anyway, I think it is pretty accurate video.
Because she doesnt act and look like a noble child but one of the peasants and her features are more rough than of Sansa. But she is so often mentioned as ugly i guess it is a forshadowing of her killing Cercei as according to the witch Cercei visited as a girl her downfall will come from a younger and more beautiful.
I just love how appearance in ASOIAF really matters. It's not just for the characters to look good-looking but it's more like a signature of their blood, along with their houses and family.
True, but she's supposed to be. Similar to her aunt, Lyanna. They put a fierce quality in her eyes, though (the first one). Third one was also nice (her in King's Landing, afraid, yet resilient, a depth of sorrow, yet a survivor). Arya''s my favorite character and I think they did a really good job with her beauty and complex young soul.
I don't think Arya has even been described as ugly, just plain compared to her beautiful older sister. The 'Arya horseface' nickname might just be kids being cruel.
Globally I don't like the idealized way ia has portrayed them, they're all smooth and identical, I prefer the much more realistic and authentic physiques of the series.
Most of these are pretty dead-on, although the one for Ned is WAY too handsome compared to his book description, which is a somewhat dour, long face. When he and Robert were childhood friends, you definitely got the impression that Robert was the one who got all the attention.
So aside from the show aging almost everyone up, avoiding alien eye-colors and the cast looking… well, human, pretty accurate! (Although, it seems that quite a few of these male characters share identical facial bone-structure? I know, there are real mathematical proportions that are supposed to be more/most pleasing, but the fact that is even know should mean there’s an automatic correction-to-flaw -in-symmetry to avoid everyone appearing to be perfectly beautiful.) Ah well! Thank goodness they left the gore, filth and other stuff in!
The ai in this one was amazing they were even better looking than i pictured when reading the books except the girls who are usually described as beautiful as it can get. I hope that this same user makes one for house of the dragons too bring all their appearances too life from the books.
The person who made this video did a great job! All these pictures are exactly how the book described them. The actors/actresses chosen for the series were way off.
This is completely irrelevant to GoT but AI renly looks almost identical to my Dad when he was in his early 20’s. Though my father has a slightly fuller face and strikingly icey blue eyes. The eyebrows, eye shape, the nose, jaw line, dimpled chin, and most striking the thick wavy raven black hair are spot on. It’s like looking at what my dad might have dressed like if he was a feudal Prince. 😂
It’s funny how in some pictures the faces are flawlessly dream-like supermodel-looking faces, and then in quite a few pictures the eye on the left is significantly higher making them look derpy.
Simply an amazing rendition! However, when I read the novels and fanfictions,I usually imagine the show's actors portraying their characters。Can't be helped。Though, there are some characters I imagined are portrayed by the actors that never officially appeared on the show, like Rhaegar Targaryen portrayed by Heath Ledger,Howland Reed by David Wenham,Jon Arryn by Liam Neeson,Rhaella Targaryen by Cate Blanchett, young Robert Baratheon by Henry Cavill, young Ned Stark by James McAvoy
I intentionally watched (most of) the show before I read any of the books because it's too hard for me to imagine characters without references like that. I did the same thing with the Lord of the Rings.

Henry Cahill was busy being hot in The Witcher.
@@MatthewTheWanderer that's right. Mark Addy was exactly who I imagined for older Robert when I first read "A Game of Thrones."
main difference is the show aged up most characters....present audience could not imagine, in the not too distant past, that teenagers could be head of states, fight wars or be married as young as 12
Or rather we don’t want to see little kids dying and getting raped lol? There’s a reason everybody was aged up
Present audiences? Those books aren't that old bro lol
yup present western audiences, and you did not get my post@@magtinfal7908
None of these even look like their age. Robb specially look more older than Richard Madden
I agree everyone looked OLD
I hope you do more. I want to see Olenna. Tywin, Tyrion, Missandei, Jorah, Ramsay, the giant, khal drogo, Varys,
Yeah, it would be especially interesting to see how it handles "ugly" characters (as described in the books, anyway) or monster characters.
no need to do missandei, she is already a stunning beauty
Two Words. Sandor Clegane.
Why? They would all look the same. Don't you see it's the same face? 😅😅
I don't think they could outdo Drogo. But it'd be interesting to see
they hit cersei's PIERCING eyes very well, i felt pierced
get neon contacts. That works like this
Was I the only one who was looking forward to see how Rhaegar looked?
Cersei = Westeros Barbie
Now I finally understand why Little Finger had a thing for Catelyn Stark. wow wa wiwa.
And its said that sansa will become even more beautiful then her. No wonder creepyfinger targets her. 🤢
@@lisaerk8487 Pedøfinger 🤮
Yeah, but I kinda love how the show shifted the aspect from loving Catelyn for her appearance to loving her for her nobility, for the value she has for a sociopath like Baelish. I like the interpretation that young Catelyn was beautiful to Petyr's eye because she meant everything to him, but that she is actually not a Margaery tier supermodel. I really love the casting of Catelyn Stark as a woman-next-door beauty, a face radiating motherly kindness, warmth, wisdom and femininity.
@@lisaerk8487
After Joffery agrees to marry Margaret. Sansa walked down the hall with a big smile of relief.
Creepyfinger gets way too close. Checks her out up and down and keeps telling her how much she looks like her mother when she was young
2:46 is spot-on to how I pictured Renly to look when first reading the books.
I was mesmerized
I was mesmerized
It’s kinda crazy how much the AI Robb ended up looking like Richard Madden :o
It did look just like him and a few of the others were close too…AI probably has access to the actors etc and gets info based on them too.
Robb is exactly the way that I imagined he would look when I read a fan fiction story titled “Frostfyre”. In that story Robb and Margaery get married and fall for each other. I can see how handsome he would appear to Margaery, and Robb was struck by how beautiful she was.
Where can you find that?
@@mariah4531 I found it on a fanfic website called ‘Archive of Our Own’

Well I’m glad we still have talented casting directors because I think the show was spot on in capturing the essence of each character. CERSI couldn’t be played by any other human on earth… no matter how they look & that is pure writing/ cinematic/ acting magic!
Totally agree. Well said!
Can your Ai write Winds of winter also?
Is this how they r described in the books?
@@shahada95as it states in the title, yeah
I think we all can agree that the actors were chosen so well that they truly brought justice to the characters. (the only inconvenience were Dany s eyes, not purple in series)
They tried. Emilia could not wear the contact lenses. They could have added it in post production as they did to Vivien Leigh in Gone With the Wind, but chose not to.
@@tessdurberville711 Well,at least it's not such a big problem. Her acting overcomed that🙂
@@tessdurberville711
To alter her eye color after the fact. Would be too time consuming as well as eat up the budget
1:10 & 2:50 Henry Cavill
3:20 Natalie Portman
4:09 Sean Connery
4:48 Tom Cruise
And 9:43 Antonio Banderas lol
8:39 Robert Pattinson
3:20 is Brie Larson
11:06 Greyworm ---Wentworth Miller from Prison Break
3:39 young Stannis looks a lot like Henry too.
Honestly, I'd love to see Euron, Ygritte, Theon again as Reek, Ramsay, Tyrion, Tywin and Jeyne Pool - Jeyne gets forgotten about so quickly...
Tyrion will be a challenger to this AI. He is described as a ugly man. But this AI tends to show everybody beautiful. 😅
@@LightCyan I have noticed this. Or, maybe you and I just aren't fussy.
Because they erased her for Sansa to give her some arc bc they didn't let Sansa be like in the books, but one of the main characters in the show
Tyrion would be interesting.
The book description was, let's say unnerving
all the women could be sisters - little variation
stfu. we dont need diversty. like what they did with the velaryans in HOTD,
This is one channel that I don’t mind having an AI voice. The depictions are amazing!
I agree. So well done.
They are quotes from the books.
Bran looks like freaking Peter Pan
Young Robert Baratheon is chef's kiss!
I thought his eyes were teal and seemed either blue or green from different perspectives
Would love to see AI depict Dario’s goofy ass look lol
We need more, there are a lot of characters missing: Tyrion, Tywin, Varys, The hound, The mountain, and the list goes on and on. Night King would be amazing to see too, since it was CGIed into the series, I`d like to see if they nailed it. And also...We need....Rose!
Young Robert Baratheon looks a lot like Henry cavil
Is it me or does the AI for Viserys, Jon and Dany seem similar to the actors?!
I noticed that too.
The second Jon photo looks like that Timothee actor guy
Jon looked more like timothee chalamet in dune tbh
Nope, Emilia looks very diferent to IA version.
@@acidobarbiturico439I see every now and then people spell AI like that, can you explain why please
I honestly only came here in the hope of seeing tyrion
Too idealized. Not everyone supposed to look so ideal in the books. Infact the show itself prettified a lot of characters.
I would love them to do an A Song Of Ice and Fire animation with the way these characterisations look.
Cersei's eyes are like the kind of eyes Peter Jackson be giving his elves in The Hobbit lmao
Renly and Sansa made my mouth drops, they are way to beautiful for humanity hahah
Eddard actually looks similar to The actor who played Uncle Benjin. The first photo at least.
Benjen in the show is how I originally imagined Ned to look like in the books, funnily enough.
Plus the only reason why they got Shawn Bean is because he dies
Renly and Margery together would’ve made some beautiful kids irl
He's gay
Did you miss the part where this video was based off of the book descriptions and not the show?
So these AI pics are more accurate than the show
@@thedban1206
It’s not based on anything, hair/eyes colors is correct but anything else is just AI generating super models.
More likely to run to fat; they got castrated before their hormones set in. The voices were also far too deep.
They needed an older actress when they cast a 25 year old as her son
at 1:33 Robert Baratheon looks like an older version of the TV series' Robb Stark
This is honestly how I imagine them when reading the books 😂
Hence why Tywin Lannister calls people who mistake her for a boy idiots 😂
5:58 Eddard stark's jacket has zippers🤣🤣
Brienne looks a little bit like if someone tried to make Toni Collette look brutal
Wow. They all are like I imagine them in the book. Great job, AI. People forget often they were kids in the books
So, everyone is a Balenciaga model with flashlights for eyes, got it
Was wondering to see what Theon as Reek would look like…
The AI looks like it should work for the CW network. All them look like models.
The only one more beautiful than the AI version is Pedro Pascal.
mong
Damn I wanted to see what the dragons would look like
Yes! Accurate to the books images of the dragons would be great.
Well based on how the rest of the cast looked like with AI, the dragons would've looked like Playboy models.
I just love how appearance in ASOIAF really matters. It's not just for the characters to look good-looking but it's more like a signature of their blood, along with their houses and family.
Arya looks far too beautiful here.
In the books she is
I don't think Arya has even been described as ugly, just plain compared to her beautiful older sister. The 'Arya horseface' nickname might just be kids being cruel.
I agree.
This made me subscribe - need more of this!
Jon and Sansa's AI-made portraits strikingly resemble the actors 😱🤩🤩🤩
Globally I don't like the idealized way ia has portrayed them, they're all smooth and identical, I prefer the much more realistic and authentic physiques of the series.
10:31 This is, actually, Emilia Clark
A lot of the characters on here have had a HUGE glow up...where some look just about the same.
All the men look like Henry cavill
You are a great storyteller. No opinionated voice, Just a simple narration. That is the key to telling a second hand story.
It’s an AI voice.
@@emtpmpknhed and it pronounced some names wrong.
cersei in the books looks almost like myrcella ( 0:34)
This is ridiculous because they all look alike. IA still has to learn.
Most of these are pretty dead-on, although the one for Ned is WAY too handsome compared to his book description, which is a somewhat dour, long face. When he and Robert were childhood friends, you definitely got the impression that Robert was the one who got all the attention.
Margaery's hair is too dark and Bran looks too old.
Arya first art = young Jennifer Connelly
Good call.
Lena Headley is a perfect Cersei 💛
Cool, most of them fits a lot with the book description.
A little more, and we would have seen the pretty Night King.
😂
if the CW did Game of Thrones, this is what it would look like lol
I would love to see this done for the Outlander books' characters.
Notice how everyone looks the same? All have regular features and are good looking.
I love these. So beautiful
9:41 I could totally see a young Antonio Banderas playing Oberyn.
based on the descriptions, only jon and viserys actors match their book counterparts
It’s funny how in some pictures the faces are flawlessly dream-like supermodel-looking faces, and then in quite a few pictures the eye on the left is significantly higher making them look derpy.
0:57 Robert ? 😳
So basically they're all ungodly beautiful. I think the show did great casting everyone. Lena Heady is 😍😍😍
Well if cersi really looked like this you cant really blame Jaime now can you?😂😂😂
Good to see that Papi Pedro alone is hotter than their respective AI generated gods!
I always see Henry Cavil as King Aegon the 1st.
Rhaegar, Jon Arryn, Howland Reed (young) and Young Ned Stark, they appeared on the show.
I intentionally watched (most of) the show before I read any of the books because it's too hard for me to imagine characters without references like that. I did the same thing with the Lord of the Rings.
@@MatthewTheWanderer LMAO SAME. my brain gets really overwhelmed trying to mentally build the characters' faces/features in each scene while im reading and its honestly so distracting. i loooove when there's an adaption i can use for reference because then the reading is easier. i thought i was the only one who had this problem!
