    Did you mirror the image?

Since I am using the vinyl as a stencil I did not need to mirror.

What kind of vinyl are you using?

I go into more detail here: thecraftyblogstalker.com/personalized-cutting-board-gift/
This is a constant debate, and since I am not a doctor or a scientist I can't give you a 100% answer.
But if you are worried about it you can always play it safe and only use the back of the board for food prep.

Not sure what I’m doing wrong but still bleeds through. Looks like through the wood but not under the vinyl.

It will bleed a little bit. Make sure that you have a paper towel close by and are dabbing off the excess ink. It really doesn't take that much of the ink.

I’m so disappointed because this did not work at all 😢 I spent hours getting everything set up and following your directions and the heat gun did not burn anything, except the vinyl around it.

Oh no, I am so sorry, maybe you need to apply more ink from the wood burn marker. Try testing the marker on a separate piece of wood to see how it reacts.
