You know you're funny when you crack up Jerry Lewis 😅
Lmao Eddie Murphy had Jerry cracking up 😂
I forgot about this bit.
Julia Louis Dreyfus looks so cute in her blonde wig. Joe & Eddie had Jerry cracking up.
I was looking to see if anyone noticed her
Wow!!..That is Elaine!!! i would have never known unless u pointed it out. Yeah..shes pulls off blond really well.
"everybody needs new arteries"... That beginning song was too funny. I was cooking, heard it and started giggling immediately. Worth rewinding a few times and singing along 😂😂😂
22-year-old Eddie Murphy owns this sketch. People forget what a phenom he was...
Who forgot?
id say jerry did
Jerry cut his kids out of his will, was fired from his telethon because of his nasty arrogance and he supported Trump. Eddie will be remembered far more fondly.
Eddie did a great Sammy impression.
@@Zacdawac why now ?? What for?? Enjoy the past comedy 🎭
I laughed out loud at Eddie Murphy stomping the floor. His singing was good too. Young people would have to watch Jerry Lewis, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr. to really understand how well Eddie Murphy and the guy who played Dean Martin, and the writers, did in this sketch.
"The guy who played Dean Martin" was Joe Piscopo.
Piscopo does an awful Martin.
@@Cyginjv6vu he couldn't be Sinatra all of the time.
@@mdteletom1288 Martin and Lewis were a comedy team back in the day, not Sinatra and Lewis.
@@Cyginjv6vu EFF you bub
It helps so much when the cast is having fun with the material.
Joe Piscopo was very underrated
Agree!!! Have you seen him lately ?he steroids & time haven’t been kind to his appearenc .He is a really nice person too
no
SNL needs to recognize the 81 - 84 years more. There was some really good stuff going on there :--)
I wish people would realize that (as good as they were) Murphy and Piscopo weren't the entire show, or even close to that. I'm glad this channel is showing a lot of the routines for that reason.
R renewable w0
@@bismofunyuns8827 huh?
Or at lesst realize that there were more talented cast members than Murphy and Piscopo, like Tim Kazurinsky, Gary Kroeger, Brad Hall, and a pre-Seinfeld Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Lorne wasn't part of those years so he doesn't promote those seasons.
Just wanna say, I think Joe did a great job of Dean, I think Jerry was great to go along with this skit, and for all the dummies out there that have some sort of weird negative reactions to this, you never knew what it was that made them so special....
Yeah that craziness was Jerry's thing in his day. If you watched any of his movies with Dean Martin, Jerry's impromptu and odd randomness in terms of comedy is what made many of those movies classics.
Jerry was such a genius. A real performer. How wonderful he was
Never knew Mary Gross had a figure like that. She was something.
Bruh...that's the first thing I started noticing after not seeing these clips in so many years. Mary Gross was STRAPPED! 😳
You gotta pay attention to anything else but Jerry's awful shtick. He's godawful
She had a huge set of cans!
Ran into Mary at a Chicago downtown restaurant she was sitting alone, then again in the rest room. Boy she was tall!
really dont remember that until i saw this sketch. last time was ages ago. this was like the hottest she ever was on the show, because most of the skits had her all geeked out
Julia louis dreyfus looking smoking hot
To the individual who uploaded this video....let me tell you one thing...THANK YOU!!! I had no idea Jerry Lewis did SNL before. Jerry Lewis is one of my favorites...and the natural drunk, Foster Brooks, is next in line during that era. Thanks!!!
Damn Eddie's Sammy Davis Jnr is spot on
Billy Crystal did a now politically incorrect but equally spot on Sammy Davis Jr on SNL a few years later.
@@swellybibbs747 Yes, he did!
So this is how Eddie meet Jerry and later in the 1990s gave Eddie the. Nutty Professor Franchise
@@ninja51ify Because Jerry was pretty broke at that point. Much as he liked Eddie Murphy he later said he regretted selling it. It was really a cheap tacky version, and Jerry must have realised it.
Jerry Lewis saves Eddie from forgetting his lines at 3:56,when he should be saying them at 5:03.
Nice one. You can see Eddie small body language correction (it's like he said damn to himself). Yea the pressure was on that night lol
How could they forget their lines when they are reading big-ass cue cards???????
I dunno..I disagree. Eddie didnt stumble of freeze. He was saying his lines and Jerry jumped in with his lines prematurely. (IMO anyway)
A time when SNL was actually funny! Miss ya Jerry!
Eddie Murphy forgot his lines and Jerry Lewis bailed him out
Jerry Lewis, one of the original kings of comedy👌👌👌
He was no Pinky Lee, but the late great Jerry Lewis was one funny fellow indeed !
Eddie Murphy is too funny
He was no Huntz Hall, but Eddies is indeed one funny fellow !! 😁
"Hey, all these years you knew somethin' didn't ya?"
3:58 lol did Jerry step on Eddie's line?
Eddie was saving Jerry when he missed his cue. The lines Eddie was giving are the same lines at 5:03.
From the 9th season aired 11-19-1983. Musical Guest Loverboy
Interesting that Piscopo has played both Frank and Dean. That leaves only two more.
Are you talking about Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford?
@@macmacreynolds8712 I forgot Joey, which is easily done. I was thinking of Lawford and Sammy Davis, jr.
He also played jerry
eddie and joe both did jerry..eddie much better at it ruclips.net/video/ej-7TYJK_uY/видео.html
@@macmacreynolds8712 yes that leaves only two more rat pack members Peter Lawford, who fun fact, did appear in a Jerry Lewis film and Joey Bishop
Soooooooo is this where Eddie Murphy asked for permission to remake the Nutty Professor 13 years later?
Awesome Skit with Legendary Performers...Jerry Lewis held character @3:55 on was about to Laugh at Eddie
One of the show's greatest cold openings!
Is that blonde nurse Julia-Louis Dreyfus?
+Ashwath Nair yep!
Who's the brunette nurse on the far right.. 0:54 !
Ashwath Nair yep
Julia got her start on SNL she was fantastic, yes.
@Ameya S I don't know about her, but the one on the far right at 1:14 is Mary Gross.
"...but doooon't lick it."
Jerry luis is loss it and Eddie too laughing throughout the skit 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 the good old days
Jerry Lewis having the “dream” is identical to my experience after open heart surgery. In concept not details. When coming off the anesthesia it is very common to hallucinate. It can be very scary.
Watch Jerry Lewis. Eddie Murphy is really making Jerry Lewis Laugh!.... Rare! Jerry is the King of Laughter! But Eddie was in his Comedy Moment. Watch Eddies Face and Mouth. Eddie, ''Master Comedian''......
elaine looking like a college girl, i can sleep better at night
THE funniest Lewis 1980s tv appearance I ever saw. This is brilliant.
Michael Ellis DeBakey (born Michel Dabaghi; September 7, 1908 - July 11, 2008) was a Lebanese-American cardiac surgeon and vascular surgeon, scientist and medical educator who became the chancellor emeritus of Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, director of the Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center (formerly known as Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center), and senior attending surgeon at Houston Methodist Hospital (formerly known as the Methodist Hospital) in Houston, with a career spanning 75 years. I googled because I heard about him recently since he was mentioned at the end of this snl clip . You’re welcome:)
He was also Frank Sinatra's and his father's heart doctor.
Also, Brent Spiner, who played Lt. Commdr Data on Star Trek: The Next Generation, was an intern at the same Hospital where DeBakey worked.
Brent was asked to insert a rectal thermometer into a patient (male), and then forgot to remove it.
When he did remember, he went to remove it, but the patient had rolled back over, causing the thermometer to break into pieces.
They did remove the thermometer (all the pieces) but needless to say, that was Brent Spiner's First and Last day on the job!
I'm so glad he became an actor!!
😂😂😂😂
@@OhioGirl-bu2kv oh wow !!!
Truly surreal!
I loved Jerry doing the "don't lick it" line, a call-back to a running gag from the Colgate Comedy Hour days.
Awesome. Thank you for posting this. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
this is so well done im dying
Eddie had Sammy nailed down a T!!!!
The funniest part is...a drinking and smoking Doctor in the ER was likely a pretty common thing to see! lol
I feel like the whole point of this was to make Jerry break
Julia Louis-Dreyfuss was so hot back then... wow
she was hot on Seinfeld :)
And still is for an older lady
@@nuwanwell6199 she is now over 55?
still is
@@quint7394 yeah, she was at the lane
😊😂😎💜Love this!! thank you for sharing this!!
I’m surprised Jerry Lewis can still do that voice. He did back in the 50s when he was with the actual Dean Martin
They're obviously taking a page from the Carol Burnett show. Rehearsal is one thing, once the cameras start rolling, they deviate from the script and start improvising
This SNL Skit was funny 😆 😁 Jerry Lewis’s Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Eddie Murphy with all the Ladies Dean Martin
he sounded like Joe *Pesci* when he said "Live From New York It's Saturday Night"
Jerry was. laughing.....LOL
Not even 100k ? Thats sucks. This skit deserve more than 1M
looks like they're having a great time lol
Hahaha quite the ice cold open
God damn Julie Louis-Dreyfus
No wonder Elaine from Seinfeld was so hot
Great opener
A blond JLD! 😍
I wonder if this is how Eddie Murphy knew Jerry Lewis to ask him to make a remake of the nutty Professor
Oh, shit. I can't imagine being a younger cast member comedian and being in a sketch with the wacky version of Jerry Lewis (and the closest thing you can come to Dean Martin). Comedy history!
That was great !!!!
I like how all three of them were making each other break character
Jerry Lewis was SO handsome!!
He could wag that tongue real fast, couldn't he?
Gives me shudders just thinking about it!
Dean and Jerry had lots of women back in the day, that's no secret.
I personally prefer Jerry over Dean.
But not because of what I said, but, it is an added bonus.
I kept it clean...I think!
😉😊
Dr DeBakey was Jerry Lewis’s friend and his surgeon
Mary Gross revealing how she got hired.
Hilarious
😂
Fab.
Ohhh Nuuurse!!! And the nurse is young Julia Louis-Dreyfus, blonde version.
Jerry was a condescending prick. I love it. LOL.
WOW I LOVE IT LOVE IT 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Dean Martin looked like Rocky round 12
5:14 oh look, it's the stars of You People
IM LOSING MY SHIT
HELP
What does it look like? I'll help you find it!
itiswhatitaint anditaintwhatitis omg
The doctor at the end, taking off his gloves, reminded me of a younger Tim Kazurinsky, Sweetchuck from Police academy. Was it Tim?
The Dean Martin surgeon was excellent.
What year was this?
I miss him.
now we know where the inspiration for Hello Nurse came from
Froylaven!
Great Jerry Lewis impersonation
Well, that’s the actual Jerry Lewis himself
Not even 30k views?
When Sherman Kelp met Sherman Klump.
Holy shit that was kinda sad at the end
My father had a quadruple by-pass. Damn it I better start eating healthy.
You mean to have more fruits and vegetables?
Didn't know till now that Mary Gross had a smokin' bod.
Dean looks and sounds like Matthew McConaughey
chick chiko ko
Is that Elaine? Nice
Dig the leggy chic nurses...
Wow... have to say, I had NO idea what Mary Gross had been hiding for so long... and JLD looks gorgeous as a little blonde.
Hey Lady!
If you watch this, after watching the bell boy, you think for that he does not talk in that movie
Julia Louis Dreyfus was unbelievably hot back then
Hey, does the blonde nurse on the left look familiar to anyone?
If Jerry Lewis is one of the original kings of comedy, who would be the other three?
Day-yum, Mary Gross was hot!!! Two scoops, please!
Isn’t that Elaine from Seinfeld
Why, yes that is
Shat
Julia Louis Dreyfus is HOT as hell here!
Wow Mary Gross looked hott!! So did Julia.
man julia louis dryfuss looks good as a blonde
