These big screen productions were just amazing. You.will never find anything like this in today's movies. The choreography of these combined movie and music dance numbers were simply astonishing. Just think of how much work things of this nature were to produce. Jerry and other comedic actors at the time had to be multi talented to get roles like this one. Today's actors are not expected to do such a thing by film directors. This clip is a American classic and our children should be exposed to these film shorts and their place in American history.
I almost get angry when Jerry Lewis sates in interviews he is not a dancer. Just look at his footwork! Talent does not begin to describe this man. He CAN dance!
He also had a beautiful singing voice when he wasn't putting his comedic flair in it. Check out the movie "Rock-A-Baby" when his sings this very beautiful love song.
Growing up my parents & uncles , aunts use to watch Jerry & Martin all the time … I didn’t really get into it I was pretty young now that I’m older and wiser i get it .. GOOD OLE MOVIES ARE THW BEST..😊
I worked for Southland where we all donated money for MDA Marathons. Once a year he would come to Tyler and I was always lucky enough to engage in conversation with him.! Such a sweet gentleman.
No matter what you might think of Lewis as a person, he was a true comedic genius. Those choreographed dance moves were amazing, and it took a lot of physical conditioning to be that active and in perfect time with the music.
lightasair44 Look back to the lindy hop era. I had the honour of working with Frankie Manning before his death. Frank was doing all this stuff long before this movie was made. Great performance by Jerry, yes, but not new for the time.
Watch his feet. He's not just blundering around. He's on time and he's GIVING it in those moves--so much energy! Fancy footwork and in time with his partner. That's a well executed routine. Let's face it, to be able to look like a fool dancing, you have to be a pretty skilled dancer. Jerry certainly was and then some. RIP
RIP Jerry Lewis! Thanks for decades of entertainment. You were one of the best to ever do it!
I love every movie jerry Lewis and dean martin was in
The beginning of the dance, his feet were moving like crazy but his upper body was completely still. What a great dancer
And so is the FEMALE DANCER!!!!!!!
@@sandrarivera3829 it's okay to say a man is awesome. I know woke hate that
@@sandrarivera3829 she was wild
FOOTWORK IS OFF THE CHARTS!!!!DR.BRYANT LANE.
@@bryantlane8646 backwards and in high heels, just like all the Fred Astaire girls!
Ohhhh I loved Jerry Lewis when I was a kid, I thought he was amazing bless him. 😂
As a kid watching Jerry Lewis, I absolutely love this guy’s facial expressions. No wonder 💭 he’s the King of all Comedians. No questions ❣️
As a young boy I always loved Jerry Lewis. His crazy way of acting kept me entertained, my parents loved it!!
Never new Jerry was an accomplished dancer. Both of them were amazing. Thanks
I love Jerry Lewis, so high energy I got exhausted just watching this. It did make me want to go back and watch some of his movies again.
Unbelievable moves! Simply fantastic! Great Jerry Lewis was clever, smart, highly professional, extremely versatile big huge star. One of the greatest of all times.
Jerry Lewis was one of a kind…..such great memories…..now in 2023 somebody somewhere would try to shut him up for whatever crazy reason they can think of…. Comedy is dead anymore. Don’t want to hurt someone’s whiny feelings. Glad I lived in an era that could enjoy, Lewis, Martin and Archie Bunker!
I grew up watching Jerry Lewis.....my favorite has always been Cinderfella. I would laugh to no end! He was such a great dancer!
That was some seriously frenetic dancing...made my heart race!
Everything Jerry ever did showed genius, grace, talent and that indescribable quality that elevates a performance from good to legendary.
That's very true!
I almost get angry when Jerry Lewis sates in interviews he is not a dancer. Just look at his footwork! Talent does not begin to describe this man. He CAN dance!
Absolutely!!!
He also had a beautiful singing voice when he wasn't putting his comedic flair in it. Check out the movie "Rock-A-Baby" when his sings this very beautiful love song.
@@TheRozberry The Nutty Professor one of my favs where he gets to act suave.
True he could truly dance.❤ I remember being amazed when I've seen this clip for the first time and the one in Rock a bye Baby.
I think he might have said he was a physical comedian which necessitated choreographed movements more than strictly dancing x
Growing up my parents & uncles , aunts use to watch Jerry & Martin all the time … I didn’t really get into it I was pretty young now that I’m older and wiser i get it .. GOOD OLE MOVIES ARE THW BEST..😊
So much talent on that dance floor. Amazing.
So sad to lose this man who made us laugh, cry and enjoy his incredible talent! Jerry Lewis you will be missed!
I worked for Southland where we all donated money for MDA Marathons. Once a year he would come to Tyler and I was always lucky enough to engage in conversation with him.! Such a sweet gentleman.
Fabulous dancing, talent with incredible cardio workout! Can't find this style anymore...
Love you, thanks for all the happy times you gave me as a kid!! I also thought you were one of the best looking men in hollywood!! RIP Mr. Lewis.
No matter what you might think of Lewis as a person, he was a true comedic genius. Those choreographed dance moves were amazing, and it took a lot of physical conditioning to be that active and in perfect time with the music.
Grew up watching Jerry n Dean...lol... Great combo!😀
How fabulous!! I had no idea he could dance! What crazy wild madness, I can't even imagine choreographing that!!
I was thinking the same thing. You have to be really good to make "crazy" dancing look like that.
lightasair44 Look back to the lindy hop era. I had the honour of working with Frankie Manning before his death. Frank was doing all this stuff long before this movie was made. Great performance by Jerry, yes, but not new for the time.
All performers learn from each other. It's a matter of whether you can do the act well not whether you did it first.
Jerry Lewis was the male Lucille Ball.
lightasair44 they sped up the film.
He was my childhood crush! Loved all of his movies!
Amazing Amazing Amazing! He also played the drums. Seriously.
Watch his feet. He's not just blundering around. He's on time and he's GIVING it in those moves--so much energy! Fancy footwork and in time with his partner. That's a well executed routine. I saw comments that he didn't like to call himself a dancer. I wonder what that was all about because he's amazing at it.
The woman dancing the jitterbug with Jerry Lewis was Sheree North (1932-2005)....she was one of the best dancers of that era.
Whoa that horn player is amazing hitting those high notes!
Who in the world is that trumpet player???
@@elwoodblues9613 Maynard Ferguson was the trumpeter.
@@BrianWood-fj7ygIt definitely sounds like Maynard. In a high school English class we had to write to a famous person so I wrote to MF. Several months later I got a large envelope in the mail with a picture of him and a nice letter saying he was sorry it took so long to respond, but he'd been touring. I still have them.
I sure do miss when stars actually had talent like this. Thanks for posing ;).
Jerry Lewis was a very skilled dancer. But hardly anyone knew it. Because acting & dancing silly was what he was known for.
What talent! When I was a little girl I saw every Jerry Lewis movie. I still enjoy them!
I grew up watching jerry lewis. He was the cartoon of my childhood. As we all get older. You realise what a wonderful and very intelligent man he was.
RIP my wonderful man. 💕💕
Jerry dancing with Cosmo Kramer 's Mom.
Amazing!!!
definitely mixed reviews on Jerry Lewis but no one can deny the man had talent. He was born to entertain and he sure did entertain a LOT of people for a good long time. RIP Jerry
Incredible! Showed both dancing and comedic talent at the same time, and high-paced. YUP. He was a genius.
Merci. Je connaissais Jerry Lewis comme acteur comique. Je découvre qu'il était également un très bon danseur.
Jerry Lewis had so much talent and athletic ability that he his so perfectly. Cannot say enough about what he did with the MDA telethons. God bless him
Jerry Lewis was an extraordinary talent. Sheree North is Jerry Lewis' partner. She was better known as mostly a dramatic actress right into the 90's. Trivia: she was Kramer's mom on Seinfeld.
She really looked a lot like Marilyn Monroe.
More trivia: Sheree North also played Blanche's sister Virginia on The Golden Girls
She was Kramer ‘s mom ?? Awesome trivia!

Not only dancing but musicianship and the choreography is absolutely out of this world!
I always loved watching Jerry Lewis movies! What a great way to makes smiles. Thank you.
Jerry Lewis- a real pro at his game. talent oozed out the man.
Maynard Ferguson Gives It the Ultimate Excitement on Trumpet !! Thanks Maynard for those incredible moments !!
Yes, I thought that had to be Maynard. Nobody else sounds like that. What fire in his playing!
Wow! Never saw Jerry dance this dynamically before! Man was so talented and the way he mixed in a bit of goofiness was absolutely amazing! He and that Marilyn Monroe-looking lady were fantastic together!🤩
Love 💘 the old films and the actors who put so much of their lives into these!
Lewis always had the most gorgeous sets even in the 60s when he went solo. Beautiful set design.
Sheree North had some nice sets, too! 🤣🤣🤣
