Flysky is definitely a awesome radio, I had it for 4 years and still flying with it. My jumper crashed on me after 2-years. I would definitely recommend Flysky any day.
Was at the home of an elderly person who had been involved with both airplanes and helicopters, he had bought one of these to test. He said he ended up selling all the others except his 24-channel. He said that this is a real good radio.
I got a little thingy with the receiver that has a little plastic pokey bit on one end and another connector that can plug into the receiver. What is it?
I have about 2 dozen drones, ranging from a $60 drone to a $2500 homebuilt drone, and I own probably a dozen radios. I bought the FS-I6X when I was on vacation and the airline lost one of my bags. I needed a decent radio on the quick so I could fly my drones on vacation. Luckily my drones were in two big pelican cases and my radio was packed with my clothes. The only radio the local shop had in stock that met all of my needs, and that wasn't extremely expensive - the one in my bag was a $1200 radio, and if the airline was unable to find my bag, insurance would buy me a new one So I bought it, and actually I've added a second one to my kit, and I use them specifically in areas where gear is at risk and/or I'm traveling. I ended up liking the radio more than either of the high end tx's I own, and now, 4 years later, both of my high end radios are on a shelf gathering dust. I like the layout, responsiveness, weight, and price, considerably. I've gotten so used to the feel of the things that I prefer them over my others. My favorite freestyle drone is one of my homebuilts, which I built on an x220s frame, with the solid CF plates, not the CF sandwiching the foam-like stuff the x220 devolved into. It's a wizard in name only, it's been highly modified, including an aerodynamic titanium battery box to protect the batteries during impacts. In fact I built a titanium exoskeleton for the wizard chassis, and I haven't lost anything but props since I made it. I highly recommend the FS-I6X and the FS-IA6B. Its easy to forget they're a budget setup. I'm a retired airline captain and former F-15C pilot, so ive traveled extensively, and for the last 10 years or so at least one drone has ridden along with me. The size and weight of the FS-I6X has made traveling much easier to manage.
I've been using my FS-i6 for close to three years now, and it's still going strong. I don't fly long rage but it works well for what I do. I've thought about upgrading several times but I haven't really been able to justify it!

If you look at the switch graph on the screen and you move a 2-pos switch SLOWLY around the middle you will actually see it work as a 3-pos. If you want a full size radio and only have $50 to spend I completely agree, though the BetaFPV Lite Radio 2 (Frsky) for $40 is hard to beat if you don't mind (or want) something smaller and more ergonomic, like an x-lite with no screen, just need to plug it in to a computer to configure openTX.
you should look and the Flysky FS-NV14 you can keep all of your current receivers and upgrade and on top of the you can put different modules into it such as crossfire witch is becoming almost a stander in the fpv/rc community but the fs-nv14 is quite interesting i would take a look at it
Only interested in this for Quad copters, and mainly for the Liftoff PC game to learn how to control a quad copter, is this a good option? Do the gimbals last?
Nice video Adam! I'm currently in the RC crawler hobby... In the future I want to expand and build a fpv drone and maybe some foamboard DIY airplanes, I was thinking on getting the FS- I6X and use it for my crawler right now and in the future for the FPV stuff... my question is: is it possible to configure through the menu? Maybe configure the channels to make it work with car's ESC, servo, lights, winch and other stuff? Is it possible?
hi I recently purchased the receiver but is it possible that my joysticks are inverted? my left one goes back into center position and the right one stays in place (up/down)...any help?
Sounds like you bought the Mode 1 (I think?) version. The fix might be simply(ish) taking the transmitter apart and swapping the gimbals. Not sure how to do that, though. OR, possibly just adjusting the spring tension screws (once the tx is opened up). Not sure.
I'm beginning this new hobby can you recommend me a good set of brushless motor, Transmitter and reciver , ESC, Battery, and servo motors in budget price please. I want to use these items for Car, Plane and Boats Thanks 😊

Hi, Husaini! I haven't gotten to try the i6S yet, but I will have videos on it soon and I'll let you know! 😁 but from what I've seen, the I6S is better if you don't plan on flying planes very much (just quads).
Is that left toggle stick suppose to not be responsive. I.e. Not bounce back like in your video. Just getting into drone racing and thought my controller was broken. Is that normal ?
Would this work with bind and fly helis? I have a wltoys - v911 for example. Also looking at the micro blade heli. I also want to fly planes at some point.
I'm having low rssi problems with the IA6C (the receiver that comes with the turnigy evolution). it starts at around 40% and doesn't go above that. I get maybe 100 meters and then starts to failsafe. Hi! For my FlySky transmitters I always use Eneloop rechargeable NiMH AA batteries. And in the aircraft, always a LiPo battery of some sort (depending on what I'm flying).

He says a lot of “ambiguous” things to avoid hurting feelings and it’s simply untrue. There is no radio on earth that can compete with the i6x under $300. I have been flying mine for over a year with zero issues and no intention to upgrade. The only thing this radio needs is metal gymbals, and unless you’re flying crazy 3D helis you won’t even notice it. And when you finally do upgrade, this thing makes a perfect donor for a simulator setup. For $60 and no internal remote ID, this thing is unbeatable. Cheaper than a UMX and better than any RTF radio. I’d rather have this than a dx6i any day. This is the ideal radio for someone who just wants to go to their local park and fly, or someone who wants to bind their entire hangar to a single radio. Buy it. You won’t be disappointed.

To use this radio with the OMPHobby M2 helicopter you would need a Flysky receiver that can output S-bus to the socket on the helicopter flight board. An FS-A8S would work.
FYI the modules are bit hard to figure out and will only work for some flysky models.. I made that mistake now I have a qx7 and a flysky because of it.

Many people have reported the range being at least 1 mile. here's an example ruclips.net/video/KZaE1qEnIWs/видео.html . Of course receiver type will make a difference. If you are really on a tight budget, it's high value. If you want something that you will grow into for many years (depending on what you do) or have many different brands and types of models, get a multi protocol radio, something like a radiomaster tx16s.
@@RCwithAdam1 I'm trying to get into FPV and have done a bit of research so don't know much. I was deciding on the eachine novice 3 or buying separate components. The other components being the ev800d goggles, the flysky i6x or radiomaster tx12 and the eachine tyo 79 quad. I feel like getting the components separately will benefit me in the long run as they seem to support upgrades more than the novice 3 rtf kit. However I need to keep the price in relatively the same range as the novice 3 kit otherwise I'd rather just buy that.
It really depends on the aircraft you want to use. 6 channels is plenty for almost all basic airplanes (motor, rudder, elevator, aileron, with two extra channels for anything else) and quadcopters.

I used to fly with a Spektrum transmitter the dx6i but the trim tabs were always breaking and the wheel did not work properly it would basically Jump Around Spectrum would not mail me the parts to install even though the controller is quite modular as the different pieces either screw or plug right into the main board they wanted me to ship them the transmitter
Nice video 👍🏽 exactly what i needed to hear.
Do you know how install the firmware of 14 ch? Wants to add the RSSI signal!
Good point.
you should look and the Flysky FS-NV14 you can keep all of your current receivers and upgrade and on top of the you can put different modules into it such as crossfire witch is becoming almost a stander in the fpv/rc community but the fs-nv14 is quite interesting i would take a look at it
Excellent point! I will.
Only interested in this for Quad copters, and mainly for the Liftoff PC game to learn how to control a quad copter, is this a good option?
Do the gimbals last?
@@theterminaldave mine is still working. But for the money, the Radiomaster Pocket is better and what I use most of the time now.
@@RCwithAdam1 you rock you answered my question, and the next question I was going to ask.
Thanks!
Nice video Adam! I'm currently in the RC crawler hobby... In the future I want to expand and build a fpv drone and maybe some foamboard DIY airplanes, I was thinking on getting the FS- I6X and use it for my crawler right now and in the future for the FPV stuff... my question is:
is it possible to configure through the menu? Maybe configure the channels to make it work with car's ESC, servo, lights, winch and other stuff?
Is it possible?
Get some make up to put over that cranberry on your head.😂 it's very disturbing.
Could you tell me what size motor and ESC do I need for a 36 inch trainer plane ? Thanks
hi I recently purchased the receiver but is it possible that my joysticks are inverted? my left one goes back into center position and the right one stays in place (up/down)...any help?
Sounds like you bought the Mode 1 (I think?) version. The fix might be simply(ish) taking the transmitter apart and swapping the gimbals. Not sure how to do that, though. OR, possibly just adjusting the spring tension screws (once the tx is opened up). Not sure.
@@RCwithAdam1 simple change mode 2 and change gimpal left to right. easy work open cover and change gimpal. and setup can change mode 2.
I'm beginning this new hobby can you recommend me a good set of brushless motor, Transmitter and reciver , ESC, Battery, and servo motors in budget price please. I want to use these items for Car, Plane and Boats Thanks 😊
Hello, Is this compatible with receivers that have gyro?
Does it have a gyro?
Hi Adam is this radio durable?did you face any hardware or software problem while using it?
Really, I haven't had ANY reliability issues with the radio itself that I can remember.
Hi Adam, Thanks for this video. What are the other transmitters that can be used to work with FlySky receivers? Thank you
Hi, interesting video 😎. I’m building a 1/32 Lancaster & I want to incorporate engines to individually control the props. Also would like to control lighting. This is a static display,so would this be ok 🙏
Can I use another receiver (same model from this package) if I lose or damage the receive?
Yes, absolutely! This radio can bind with up to 20 separate receivers.
Thanks for the heads up Adam. Practical presentation indeed. Yep, Iv subscribed.
Much appreciated!
Hi Adam. Whats your say on i6s, comparing to i6x? For a beginner, which one is a wiser choice?
Hi, Husaini! I haven't gotten to try the i6S yet, but I will have videos on it soon and I'll let you know! 😁 but from what I've seen, the I6S is better if you don't plan on flying planes very much (just quads).
Is that left toggle stick suppose to not be responsive. I.e. Not bounce back like in your video. Just getting into drone racing and thought my controller was broken. Is that normal ?
Hi! That's correct. The i6 series does not have any "momentary" switches.
Thx bro really good review covers everything you need
Glad it helped!
Excellent info, thank you very much for sharing!
My pleasure!
do this Transmitter any good bro how far can you fly and what the rang of it
Would this work with bind and fly helis? I have a wltoys - v911 for example. Also looking at the micro blade heli. I also want to fly planes at some point.
Hi! It will work with any receiver that uses the AFHDS or AFHDS2A protocol. I believe Blade products use only spektrum dsmx protocol.
I'm having low rssi problems with the IA6C (the receiver that comes with the turnigy evolution). it starts at around 40% and doesn't go above that. I get maybe 100 meters and then starts to failsafe. I feel like I'm doing something wrong in my setup and was hoping you could point me in the right direction as you're one of the only reviewers I see that uses flysky. any help would be appreciated. thank you
Hi! If this is for a quad, do you mean the RSSI in the OSD? What flight controller are you using?
@@RCwithAdam1 I'm using the mamba 30x30 stack. I used the cli command "set rssi_scale = 250" and now it shows it at 100, but I haven't been able to test it thoroughly. and yes, I meant through the osd
Get the X-Lite yet? Went from FS-i6 to X-Lite about 4 months ago, huge upgrade. Isn't there another TX hanging on the wall behind you?
Not yet. Thinking about the Nirvana now. The tx on the wall is my old Spektrum dx6i.
@@RCwithAdam1 - Small size of X Lite is what sold me from the start. Flys well if u r thumber, not sure about pinch. R9M lite mod and irangex multiprot mod are awesome.
Thanks for your videos. What batteries do you recommend using in the transmitter? I'm new to the RC plane hobby. Duracell, Energized type batteries, or rechargeable type or other. What do you use in DC planes? Hope you answer back.
Hi! For my FlySky transmitters I always use Eneloop rechargeable NiMH AA batteries. And in the aircraft, always a LiPo battery of some sort (depending on what I'm flying).
I ordered the FlySky because it's compatible with the Turnigy Evolution Pro and it's receivers that I already have and I want the elevon mixing which the Turnigy Evolution Pro does not have.
My transmitter just beeps when turned on then the menu rapidly fades away until it's no longer visible, not sure why but it's super frustrating
Sounds like a battery issue. I would try a fresh set of batts.
Do thes eonly work with FlySky receivers ? I want to use one of these for BNF planes
Hi! Correct! You have to use FlySky brand (or third-party compatible AFHDS2A protocol) receivers.
@@RCwithAdam1 Ahh OK so no use for the BNF planes on BangoodUK then , they have 3 receiver versions there but I really don't want to start messing with receivers yet, As a learner. One step at a time . I do want flight stabilization though The OrangeRx Tx10i Mode 2 EU Version 10ch on HobbyKing also looks good
The way of talking remember me the character friend the 🦌 deer in the Open Season. I Like it. Good recommendation.
Hi, I have a question... Why is many types of drone transmitters ?
Witch is the best ?
Is good something like xBox controller ?
Why ? 😃
Hi! It's very much personal preference. Some people like to use a "pinch" grip and some use their thumbs. Xbox style is better for thumbs.
@@RCwithAdam1 thank you very much... I didn't expect your answer 😅
So... Again thank you 😁
Im.using fs- i6x it doesnt work well. I push the left stick up it spins left. I push left stick down it spins right. I push the left stick left and right nothing happens
Can it do reverse thrust for 4d plane
Sure, I think so. But I haven't gone through that process to know for sure. You'll need a ESC that can reverse thrust, of course.
Are there other receivers out there that are on the same AFHDS protocol?
There are some quadcopter type receivers from CrossoverRX (AKA Oversky), and I think y ok u can find some generic brand AFHDS2 rx on banggood.
What FPV goggles do you recommend with Vr under $100 ?
Hi! The Eachine 800DM goggles got really good reviews. Haven't gotten to test them myself, though. But that's what I would buy. www.banggood.com/custlink/mvmmQHL1Z4
The thing that instantly feels like a no no to me: it's supposed to eat 4 AA Batteries.
Any way to use rechargeable batteries? Personally I'd be thrilled if there was a transmitter with USB-C.
Can you tell me which is a good and cheap 6 channel transmitter

hi, great vid, can this radio be used for ground vehicals? i,e cars tanks boats
Hi! Thanks! I haven't used it for that, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
Hi Adam, I'm considering buying a E flight p51d Mustang, I have the flysky i6x radio do you know if it would work with the E flight p51 Mustang?
There doesn't seem to be any videos on what radios work with the plug and play version of the p51.
Thanks
Unfortunately, no. All the horizon hobby eflite stuff uses Spektrum DSMX radios and recievers.
RCwithAdam Darn, I was hoping to use the Flysky.
I do have two older Spektrum radios, the DXe A and a DX5e the DX5e has 5 channels and I'm not sure how many the other has, they were given to me.
Thank you very much for replying to me I appreciate the help.👍👏✌🏼
Hi Adam,
Can i use the FS-i6X on a model boat?
Hi! I don't see why not. As long as the receiver works, it should be fine.
Thank you very much!👍
Could anyone please tell me why on Banggood’s website there is two different receivers for this model? one ends in 10B and one ends in 6B? thanks
Hi! Do you mean the FS-iA6B and FS-iA10B? The 6B has six servo ports (6 channel), while the 10B has ten servo ports (10 channel).
@@RCwithAdam1 and ALL i6 model and i6X model can update 10 channeel firmware and work well. i6X have default 6 channel too only. but has all i6 serie build can use 10 channel. i-bus and rss mode can use 14 channel.
OK I'm seeking for help. Really newbie here.
Anyone uses this for A3 Pro gyro before? Izit possible to switch on / off during middle of the flight? And how?
Do u still recommend it for beginners
I want to jump into this hobby
What should i buy this one or jumper t-lite
I am low in budget
Kindly help
Hi, Hassan! I don't know enough about the T-lite to really compare the two, but given that the T-lite is multi-protocol and runs open Tx, I think the T-lite will give you more options.
Now, as far as ease of use and overall experience, it's hard to say since the t-light also has a much smaller screen, little buttons, and different ergonomic format.
What kind of flying do you want to do?
@@RCwithAdam1 i want to make n fly multiple things like wings ,planes, quads

I need your suggestions for buying budget motors ESCs servos transmitter n receiver

So i want to invest my money on a budget and value for money things that will last long
I am so confused to buy transmitter
I love radiomaster TX16S but it is out of my range
So i decided to buy flysky i6x
Will it be my good purchase?
Because there are lot of other transmitter in market and I want to buy once under 100 dollars that will last long and which don't want to upgrade in 1 to 2 years
He says a lot of “ambiguous” things to avoid hurting feelings and it’s simply untrue.
Hello Im new to this hobby,,i bought a flysky tx and a phoenix 2400 sailplane, im trying to put it together but no luck,,i hope you can help me with this,,cant sart the motor,,thanks so much

Will this work for rc cars
awesome video, almost exactly 1 year later lol. mine didnt come with that receiver, would you (or anyone else) suggest a different one or is that one good enough? new to fpv but have flown my mavic since release, i know its a lot different but ive dabbled in those 4ft death copters back in the day too and managed to fly them decent, landing was the issue XD
any tips on this receiver would be appreciated. awesome vid glad its still up!
I’m looking into getting a tiny hawk freestyle 2, will I be able to bind this to the built in receiver
No, I don't think there are any Emax products with built in Flysky receivers.
dose it work with m2 hobby ? what should i buy with it if its work !
To use this radio with the OMPHobby M2 helicopter you would need a Flysky receiver that can output S-bus to the socket on the helicopter flight board. An FS-A8S would work.
Hero what we control 12v moter with this
FYI the modules are bit hard to figure out and will only work for some flysky models.. I made that mistake now I have a qx7 and a flysky because of it.
Which module did you get?
@@RCwithAdam1 4 in one module.

i like to buy the fs i6s,may reasons is a.) gimbal is potentiometer but the replacement is very affordable and available, b.) ease my worry about any trouble in range, c.) the style and ergonomics i like, d.) latency is good, however i am worried about the range and also i am worried if a plane will crash suddenly cause by the range, (i only need a mile radius, just a mile, not competitive) now how i can assure that this TX will not cut suddenly in just a mile , does this occur during favorable moment such as sunny good day? is it possible? i am noob and pls tell me what do i need to know before i buy this TX, 2021 no budget,
Many people have reported the range being at least 1 mile. here's an example ruclips.net/video/KZaE1qEnIWs/видео.html . Of course receiver type will make a difference. If you are really on a tight budget, it's high value. If you want something that you will grow into for many years (depending on what you do) or have many different brands and types of models, get a multi protocol radio, something like a radiomaster tx16s.
Is this radio better than the Radiomaster tx12?
Hi, Daniel! In short, no. What kind of radio are you looking for? 😀
Do you need more than 6 channels?
It really depends on the aircraft you want to use. 6 channels is plenty for almost all basic airplanes (motor, rudder, elevator, aileron, with two extra channels for anything else) and quadcopters.
What’s the best one for around 100 bucks, is it worth it to pay up
Good question! It depends on what you want to use it for. What kind of flying will you be doing?
@@RCwithAdam1 just a few planes. Just afraid to go cheap if I can do better going up a little?
@@jdssurf honestly, you might take a look at the new RadioMaster TX12. From what I've seen it could be a great budget multi-protol radio.
