Carlos Viana Santez Morrow so I bind my x6b receiver with my I6 TX and sometimes the RX voltage is disappears from my TX screen pls help me did I made the bind not properly?
The cable works fine in Windows for doing the firmware update, but you may need to install a driver. On W7 I had to install SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller.
8:50.. Chris... I just modified my FS-i6X to output about a 3 times louder Beeper sound. It is a simple matter of drilling an appropriately sized hole in the rear case cover directly over the Beeper and inserting an 8mm diameter silicone hose deep enough to touch the Beeper. leave about 1/16" of tubing protruding out of the case. You can glue it to the case or as I did make the hole smaller than 8mm for a press fit. This produces a sound pipe. It is as loud as placing the Beeper outside the Xmitter case. BTW... A full wavelength of 2.4GHZ is 12.5 cm. A 1/2 wavelength is 6.25 cm A 1/4 wavelength is 3.125 cm
THANK YOU SO MUCH...i have been pulling my hair out for a week trying to get banggood to understand me about this.i could not figure out how to turn on the aux switches..so i opened it up and put vra&b to swa&c..lol.. different then the regular fsi6. i noticed also that only sticks have to be at zero for the controller turn on..finally i can use this thing!
Santez Morrow so I bind my x6b receiver with my I6 TX and sometimes the RX voltage is disappears from my TX screen pls help me did I made the bind not properly?
At 4:31 stickers are of 3 types, because if you want to remove all switches or some of switches then you can place the new stickers to cover those holes...
Thanks for this video.. now the switches are working for me.. Great stuff.. Thanks also for explaining the battery sensor - that's well helpful. I just inserted the batteries, plugged the USB in the back, connected to the windows 10 laptop and switched on. Windows found the device and recognised it as a controller. I did download rcAir sim from steam and it does work, but the axis is messed up and I'm having the hardest time getting it to configure. I probably need to spend some cash for some better simulation. Just thought I'd mention..
Great video, I hope your next one will be testing the range :) new receiver + stock antennas vs. new receiver + longer antennas vs. old receiver. I think the antennas with longer active part will have worse range.
Hi iforce, first good video!. Second, could I set an alarm so the radio beeps when a certain voltage is reached ? ie 14 volts? I have tried to set it within the radio but it only reaches to 10 volts internal and external sensor... So I don't know if this receiver would be very useful for fpv, I just want to get rid of osd in the screen and let the transmitter to do the job.
Same for the A8S receiver, the antena is 24mm when the optimal lenght is 33mm for 2.4Ghz, please make a range test to check how much more rance we can get replacing the antenas.
Please help my beepy situation if you can. I got a single antenna version of the flysky X6B from the Eachine Vtail in an F4 board and although it works, my Fsi6 beeps constantly. Readings on screen On screen shows IntV1 :0.00v Tx . V1:5.15 Err1 : 0% The port puts out 5.2v when I read it with my DMM. How to stop the damn beeping without removing my TX speaker or flashing firmware because I have 12 models I really don't want to take apart just to bind again to fly this tomorrow?
Altitude hold would require a flight controller, this is just a radio transmitter. If you meant to say can you get an altitude readout on the transmitter display, there are some other sensors you can use with iBus but it looks like altitude is not one of them: goo.gl/U25cPL
"Isn't it nice!" Yep, appears to be. :) What would truly be nice, is me understanding all the variables. :P I received a Turnigy 9XR PRO recently, so I'm officially moving in that direction. Gotta check and see if you've posted any videos about it... :)
Thank you for this video. I purchased a X220 wizard/Flysky combo and I couldn't get the motors to turn on. After watching your video on assigning the channels, it makes sense that the switches to arm the motors weren't working as the channels were off by default. Unfortunately, I reset the Tx to factory default, which wiped out the bind, so now I'm waiting for a bind cable to start over. :)
A bind cable is essentially just a plain piece of wire. If you can connect the bind pin to ground with any conducting material (I have used tweezers sometimes) while turning the receiver on it will enter bind mode.
You can have SwA+SwB as an combined switch. That way you can have all switches enabled but still only 6 channels. At least its like that in the upgraded firmware for the fsi6, but there its 10ch by default.
Hi Thank you for this video, I have a couple of questions. I have the old fs i6 set with 6 channels and I don't want upgrade the firmware to 10channels cause all my receivers are 6 channels. Can the i6x work with both 6 and 10receivers? Also is there around any video that clearly shows how to connect ppm. Thank you
Hii and thank you for informations. Perhaps is crazy but can I install on kingkong et 115 ???? Want to have battery voltage shown on remote controll and to have alarm for low battery voltage
Strangely enough there are two different cables to do the two different jobs - the gaming cable and the update cable. It's disappointing about the mounting hole sizes, very much close but no cigar. I have two of these coming so will have to put some thought into revising my intended mounting method.
a quick note on the antenna connections, I think most of those small connectors (IPX/IPEX/uFL etc etc) have a limited number of connections they are rated for (15 or so ?) Sorry if you mentioned this in the video and I missed it.
iForce thank you for this vid. Any idea how to get RSSI to show in osd? I have the i6 tx with the hali9 update and the x6b rx. My FC is the f4 Omnibus Pro V3.
Noob question.. I dont't understand where do you hook the battery sensor cable on your quad? Do I have to buy extra cables or adapter? Do I have to cut it and solder it on the pdb? And there are 3 wires for the batery sensor on the receiver why u use only the 2 of them?
Tooth Pain If you buy a lipo battery for your quad, there will be 2 cables: the Xt60 (or dean maybe) & a cable with many pins on it. You just go ahead and connect the 2nd cable (not the xt60) to the voltage sensing port on the X6B reciever. 3 cables are for 3 different uses, you can use any you want
hi, the second receiver FS-iA6B R5B6 how i connect in my drone? i don't have any cable, so how i connect? can you give me a link where i buy the cable thank you so much
FS-I6x has higher stick resolution than the fs-i6 too. 4096 over the older 1024 Not sure if it makes any difference as the receiver states 1024 resolution? I noticed there was no jitter from the sticks in Betaflight. Which was nice (My fs-i6 has a little jitter after fixing the wiring - real bad +/- 20 before I glued the wires steady)
I'm not sure which receiver would be best. I see there are three available. I just fly sport airplanes. I am assuming that the IA6B would be. What is the difference between the three available?
I'm building a 5" quad. Do you think the X6B will work for a multi rotor quad? I have the Fs-i6. Can't find a seller who ships the smaller FsA8s to my location.
Hello I mistakenly connected 3.7 volt to the reciever , when I again connect 5volt to reciever it is constantly dimly blinking led and servos are not working, please help me out
Yes! The alarm is not loud enough, which is problematic when the radio battery is low, and one can’t hear the alarm (it’s happened to me). Fortunately, fail-safe seems to be reliable on these radios:)
i recently bought fly sky FS-i6. but the problem that i am facing is the it is not getting bound by the receiver which is FS-iA6. i tried all types of binding. still it is not binding. can you help me with this
BLINKFEED use the secret menu to bind to X6b, not the bind button. Turn off. All sticks to bottom left, turn on. There is a menu item called bind. I could not get bind button to work but that worked perfectly.
I have an Eachine X220s w/ Omnibus F4 v3 - Flysky fsi6 controller - Fs-x6b receiver. Got receiver to bind to controller, but cant see sticks move in betaflight??! I think I heard in video that there is probs with my combination of components? Receiver is hooked up to PPM SBUS connection on FC. Controller is set for PPM.....should UART 6 be the one with serial rx selected in betaflight? Damn, I'm lost! I thought all I had to do was connect my receiver, bind it, and fly my quad! But it just can't be that easy for me! It does not arm and does nothing.......
Excellent In-Depth Video on the FlySky radio and receivers ! ..... Just wondering how you got that 4 cell battery to have different voltage plugs ? ... Did you wire it yourself ? ... Its a great idea for a test bench ... 3.7 , 7.4 , 11.1 , 14.8 and 5 Volts all from one battery .... Cheers !
i6 and i6X have all same transmitter, both can upgrade software to 10 channel transmitter and use both receiver both transmitter, no problems. and both can use 10 ch receiver too.
I'm using this receiver with FS-I6 (10ch modded) and everything seems fine I even get battery voltage on the FS-I6 but when I set the alarm on the transmitter RX Battery that I have 4 cells, Low = 13.9V Alarm= 14.0V, High=16.4V (27:39) even when my battery is 15.2 I get the alarm still buzzing. I have to change to 1 cell lipo then it stops. Any help?
??? sbus and radio protocol are different things. The FlySky and FrSky radio protocols are not the same, so binding this radio to a FrSky receiver would never work. But the sbus output coming from this receiver should be valid.
I just discovered today my FS-IA6B does 10 channels flawless on the I--BUS, despite the datasheet says it has only six channels. I am using it as wireless joystick on linux. (Someone made a linux driver to support I-BUS connected to a USB-serial converter as a joystick.)
Chris, is this the receiver you used on that long Mini Talon flight you did? (I have one of these TXs which came with the RTF Eachine Wizard) I kind of like the radio and thought I might use it on some wings too instead of my Spektrum just to play with something different.
On that long flight I used the ia6b receiver. The x6b I think is the same as far as the radio module goes, but the antennas are not quite as good. They are easily replaceable though which is nice. This might be interesting: ruclips.net/video/hKKerQDq19I/видео.html
@@aniketsingh5516 I don't know why anybody would. I guess if you broke one and didn't want to replace it, you could put the sticker to cover the hole. I broke one on my Taranis X9D when I accidentally dropped my radio and chose to replace it cuz I couldn't see myself not having that switch. So, yeah it's a good question. Why?
So, after buying a load of standard props about a year and a half ago,for dji style locknut design motors(i was a noob lol) recently i sent off to banggood for what was titled as locknut design props. I got the same generic props again instead, so basically they're not able to go all the way down the motor shaft. Last night i used a dremel rotary tool to shave away the inside of one of these generic props, and it does go all the way down, and the cone nut does seem to go further down and even because of the composition of these plastic 'other' props, it seems to 'squeeze' a little more gradually on, tightening the prop gradually. Do you think this could be a problem? Shaving away the inside first half of the prop. It still has a lot to hold onto the motor shaft Sorry this has nothing to do with the content of this vid, but i follow you on here, and this was your latest vid. :)
Hi,I bought these two rx to try w my nirvana.I seemed to like the ia6b less bc of the pins.I never use pwm, only ibus, and I like the smaller form of the x6b,and the solder pads they provide for the bat voltage and such.Have you done a range check on these 2 ?Seems to me the Ia6b has a better range though.Im even trying some diversity panel antennas by frisky on the x6b to see if it will increase the range.I really like the x6b.What kind of range are you getting with urs?
Yes, I think the ia6b has a slight edge over the x6b. ruclips.net/video/hKKerQDq19I/видео.html ruclips.net/video/tDtFKGQWcjY/видео.html ruclips.net/video/vXsbJSvtEFs/видео.html
Hello there. Thanks for the great video. I know I'm very late to this game having had the i6 for the second year now. It's been a flawless transmitter and receiver set up. Anyway, I have a question if you get to it, and if not I understand. You mentioned that the Bind button is NOT a range test button. Maybe I missed it, but how does one range test this radio before you go and fly the plane? Perhaps its not entirely neccesary to range test befor flying but I'd feel much better if I could do that. Thanks for getting back on the question, and again, thanks for the great video.
I don't think these radios have a range test function. In all the years I've flown RC I've never done any range tests, at least pre-flight with reduced power, obviously I have done plenty of actual range tests :)
Hello, I have a GOOLRC GC6 what's nothing but a labeled FS-i6 and ther stock firmware had the S.BUS option, I flashed it with an unofficial 10ch firmware and it also has the S.Bus inside. Another benefit of that moddified fiermware is that the 10V limit of the voltsgae reading is gone, a flight timer is present and you can assign also switch combinations for the AUX channels. I've also had a look inside my i6 and it seems that there is one open pin on the left side of the pcb for a second 3 position switch. More I really do not need from this cheapy, nice for small models and if I need more moxers, flightmodes or whatever I use my Taranis, that has a multiprotocol module in it's slot that can also work with AFHDS and AFHDS 2A for the use this little of cheap as chips FS receivers . ;)
Are there any US hobby shops selling the FS-i6X ? I ordered one from Amazon Prime a week ago but it still has not shipped. I suspect they are getting it from China and reshipping it. Now I'm looking for a reliable US based RC supplier with inventory stocked in the US.
If you have a X6A and a flysky voltage sensor, is it possible to set an alarm on the exernal voltage sensor? I can't work out how to do it. I think I broke one of my X6A receivers trying to do the mod to use the internal sensor as the battery voltage sensor.
I'm thinking to set up a miniquad with RTH failsafe to test this. Less damage if it crashes, and it will get out to distance quicker than the big quad.
hi what colour wires did you use for the ext bat sens on the RX cable?? black and red or yellow? I'm looking to have this connected all the time so going to make up a small lead from RX to balance plug. also do you know if you can buy replacement cables for the RX as I'm not sure what type of plug are on these. thanks for any help in advance
If you look at the label on the PCB for that connector (eg. 17:35) it says GND BAT GND. So I'm guessing either outside wire will be ground and the middle one should go to battery positive.
Depends what you want to control. The receiver itself merely relays the position of the sticks and switches, that information could be used for anything. For example, you might want to open and close a cat-door remotely to let your cat inside :) You could also use it to move the ailerons and elevator on a plane manually to control it. But if you want the plane to be able to fly automatically, or auto-level, do GPS missions etc, then you need a flight controller. For multirotors you will always need a flight controller because it's not humanly possible to control the speed of all four motors manually to keep it stable.
if I connect two escs in two different channels (both escs having bec) will i have to remove the positive terminal on one esc or can I just plug it in ? will the receiver be damaged ? Can you help sir?
good video. nicely covered everything essential. It would be great if you switch your camera to manual focus, the fuzzy image was the only thing bothering me. But even so, great video mate!
Hi. I have the X6B and I managed getting all 6 channels of my FS-I6 working in a CC3D with betaflight. however, I can't arm the FC at all... Even when using a dedicated auxilliary switch (like aux 1). Drives me mad... any idea?
I am so grateful and thrilled to have found you. I wrote a nasty letter to Banggood a 1/2 hour ago.

No, only one is needed. Maybe they wanted a bit more secure physical connection
I it possible to update the firmware of FS i6 so the i6 will do Sbus also? I want to connect to KISS via Sbus

I have to change to 1 cell lipo then it stops. Any help?
If possible, I'd be interested in seeing you experiment with sbus on this radio. Specifically binding FrSky receivers to the FS-i6x. Thanks
??? sbus and radio protocol are different things.
Just want to say thank you ;)!!!
This might be interesting: ruclips.net/video/hKKerQDq19I/видео.html
the stickers are for covering the holes if you decide to remove switches..
But why I'd remove switches
@@aniketsingh5516 RIght? The more the better, I say! You can never have enough switches!
Why?
@@GoFlyYourselves Hahaha... Idk too but you can replace your broken switch and thank for replying even after 3 years.
hi does this rx works with the th9x/tgy9 radios?
You can have 10ch from IBUS on the normal i6.
It's a mod available from github, I have it since day 1 on my i6
Yes, as I mentioned in this video. I made another video about it too: ruclips.net/video/eaj0M218HSM/видео.html
which flight controller is compatible with this receiver.
It still has a lot to hold onto the motor shaft
Sorry this has nothing to do with the content of this vid, but i follow you on here, and this was your latest vid. :)
Waiting for the range test! And can you share the link of the longer antenas?
goo.gl/5jJrFS
There are also longer ones, with bulby bit: goo.gl/r6bsTn
... and other variations too if you look around
And you can connect it?
can I hock up a FS-I6 transmitter and IA6B resever with an RC boat?
Yes. I use it for a car.

In all the years I've flown RC I've never done any range tests, at least pre-flight with reduced power, obviously I have done plenty of actual range tests :)
when I switch on the SWA ,the throttle doesn't appear on display option when moving the stick ... really strange ? ideas anyone?
Hello,
I have a GOOLRC GC6 what's nothing but a labeled FS-i6 and ther stock firmware had the S.BUS option, I flashed it with an unofficial 10ch firmware and it also has the S.Bus inside.
So the tx is just the i6 with the firmware mod. But the receiver looks great, they've done the voltage mod for you!
Hi do you have any vid. or can i ask you how to build an fpv drone using that receiver, first time to build hope you read this.thanks

If you have a X6A and a flysky voltage sensor, is it possible to set an alarm on the exernal voltage sensor? I can't work out how to do it. I think I broke one of my X6A receivers trying to do the mod to use the internal sensor as the battery voltage sensor.
In System -> RX setup -> RX battery, you can change the type to ExtLipo, then set the voltage as necessary.
Would like to see a range test. Perhaps Banggood, GearBest or HK, or whoever, will send you a plane to test it out on!
I'm thinking to set up a miniquad with RTH failsafe to test this. Less damage if it crashes, and it will get out to distance quicker than the big quad.
Great idea. I would like to see it operate a wheeled vehicle.
hi what colour wires did you use for the ext bat sens on the RX cable?? black and red or yellow? I'm looking to have this connected all the time so going to make up a small lead from RX to balance plug. also do you know if you can buy replacement cables for the RX as I'm not sure what type of plug are on these. thanks for any help in advance
If you look at the label on the PCB for that connector (eg. 17:35) it says GND BAT GND. So I'm guessing either outside wire will be ground and the middle one should go to battery positive.
Kindly how to connect the voltage sensor to pixhawk?
ardupilot.org/copter/docs/common-powermodule-landingpage.html
Nothing to do with the radio or receiver.
I have flysky fli14+ but not binding..when i click bind key on remote then power it says "key stuck".
Is the key stuck? I think you have to let it go after powering up.
Great details thanks, noob question, do I need a flight control board as well as the fs ia6 b receiver???
Depends what you want to control. The receiver itself merely relays the position of the sticks and switches, that information could be used for anything. For example, you might want to open and close a cat-door remotely to let your cat inside :) You could also use it to move the ailerons and elevator on a plane manually to control it. But if you want the plane to be able to fly automatically, or auto-level, do GPS missions etc, then you need a flight controller. For multirotors you will always need a flight controller because it's not humanly possible to control the speed of all four motors manually to keep it stable.
iforce2d thank you so much for that detailed reply, 👍
if I connect two escs in two different channels (both escs having bec) will i have to remove the positive terminal on one esc or can I just plug it in ? will the receiver be damaged ? Can you help sir?
best to just use one bec only
What is the range???🤔🤔🤔
The receiver can also be bind with the Turnigy Evolution right?
Most likely it can, but I don't know for sure.
Thanks for the video.
good video. nicely covered everything essential. It would be great if you switch your camera to manual focus, the fuzzy image was the only thing bothering me. But even so, great video mate!
If I had to manually focus the camera all the time I would go crazy
Hi. I have the X6B and I managed getting all 6 channels of my FS-I6 working in a CC3D with betaflight. however, I can't arm the FC at all... Even when using a dedicated auxilliary switch (like aux 1). Drives me mad... any idea?
Found it! Had to increase min throttle value. :-)
I have an Fsi6, the alarm for RX battery doesn't go above 10V, help please!
maybe this might help: ruclips.net/video/eaj0M218HSM/видео.html
