WoolEagle actually, rainbow ride is entered through a painting, at least in the original. The painting is the one of the sun and clouds seen on the wall in the upper room.
Oh. The painting is at the bottom of the hole. Looking down it you can see the same sun surrounded by clouds. In Super Mario 64 DS, however, the bottom of the hole has a white texture and the painting that once depicted it, as well as another painting of a dark sky are instead replaced with parts of the painting on the tick tock clock rooms walls. Furthermore, it also resembles the mural on the ceiling of the castle foyer that you look at to enter tower of the wing cap.
5:06 wait what? The levels are the best part of Sunshine in my opinion, and I assumed it was for others too?? They are all creative and have really interesting platforming sections.
Did we forget Pinna Park? Literally the only game Mario rides in a roller coaster as a boss fight in the world. 🤷♂️🤷♂️ and then to back on it to pop balloons?!
Brendan Lewis all those stages are so easy though. The pachinko machine is definitely actually broken since it restricts you from moving backward. The other ones are fine if you keep a coolhead and take it easy mostly
4:32 Weird way to pronounce Tiny-Huge Island. In German the name is even more memorable: "Gulliver Gumba" and being a giant made me feel exactly like that. When you first enter the crossroad corridor and walk towards the level, you have no idea what is happening and either side is a fun experience, giant and tiny. You explore the same level, being able to switch in size via green pipes. Some jumps are impossible when small, but you can pass through passages or walk on the ledges. Cooper gets a re-race as well, but when you meet him being big you can smash him and surf on his shell - one of my absolute favourite things in the game. Also, who doesn't like to crush their miniscule enemies as they please.
edge lord cocaine is a helluva drug. Rumor is the princess never was kidnapped, Mario just been pimpin her out for cheap bestiality smut, the mushroom ppl are freaks. How you think all those human like animals and plants became a thing. Mario been laying pipe all over the place for decades now.
I think in Super Mario 64 the best Level is the Final Bowser Stage because it got everything from Mario’s journey like from Bob Ombs to Chukyas and more
My favourite level in SMB3 was the World 5 Tower. It served as a transition level between the land and sky portions of the world. They did a good job making it feel like an upward trek.
NSMB2 was fun for a few hours than never again. I think I played most of the story mode in one sitting and I don’t remember ever beating bowser though. It was really underwhelming
Casually New Super Mario Bros. 2 doesn't offer much. If you're a fan of the previous two titles, then sure pick it up. However, looking simply at speed NSMB2 is relatively different from other entries. NSMB2's technical mechanics are relatively easy to pull off, making the game a prolonged time trial. Most levels are easy for anyone to pick up and play through perfect, so the game is more about seconds and consistency than annoying tricks. For example, New Super Mario Bros. has a 15 second timesave where you can jump over the final boss. This trick has only three frames leeway, meaning even a poorly executed run with this trick and the dozens of others can still be good, even with a fail or two. NSMBU has a skip at the end where Mario climbs up an atuoscroller saving a minute. NSMB2 has none of that. The fastest big timesave is simply flying properly in which anyone can do. I prefer NSMB2's easier and more technical approach then that of the punishing entries in the series. Sorry you had to hear me sperg out about a video game. I am rank 13 in Nsmb2 with a time of 26:43
Cool video. This would be really hard for a lot of the games... not sure which I would choose. EXCEPT: Sirena Beach and Hotel Delfino. This is my favorite Mario level OF ALL TIME. Love the stage so much, from the creepy vibes of the hotel, the boss on the first chapter (giant paint manta ray), the music, and the unique way the level is laid out. Love it! Also, you didn't mention the nightmare-inducing carnivorous piano in the Boo stage of Super Mario 64! That thing was freaking terrifying! And memorable because of it haha.
My favorite level has to be the Seaside kingdom. I absolutely love beach levels and this one is just so beautiful. It just has such a calm and relaxing atmosphere most games can’t capture. I seriously feel like I’m at a real beach when I play that level.
Yes, someone agrees!! It is so cool that the kingdom splits off into 2 different paths that intersect with each other along the way. But I love it so much because of when you follow the waterfall upwards and you find the secret area on top of the walls. During my first playthrough, I had no spoilers, and when I went into first person view, I wondered if I could get up on top. Nintendo gives you so much freedom in the kingdom which is not seen in many other mario stages. The only thing I'm not a big fan of are the deep woods.
Very interesting idea for a video! Lots of really good levels were shown here, but some of my favourites that aren't here are Mount Must Dash from 3D World, Puzzle Block Galaxy in Galaxy 2, and Lost Kingdom in Odyssey
Lost Kingdom is the best Mario Odyssey kingdom, it has a great atmosphere and excellent use of platforming for exploration. Also the wiggler captures are really fun.
Super Mario World’s sunken ghost ship level is one of my all time favorite levels. The fact that it is far less frustrating than the Awesome level while being challenging enough, as well as its overall layout (and ending, which I won’t spoil) makes it one of the best designed side-scrolling Mario levels.
Super Mario Galaxy is literally amazing, there is much more than you think, the possibilities are endless, and that was the game that made my childhood a happy innocent childhood, that game meant and still means a lot to me.

Toy Time Galaxy getting jipped out of SMG. Honestly, Freezeflame had an extremely annoying and tedious purple coin star, where Toy Time had (in my opinion) no bad stars. Yes, the purple coin mission was hard, but it was still fun in my opinion.

For both Super Mario galaxy 1 & 2 I don’t think there was a “best level” because overall, they were both awesome games in my opinion (Cloudy court galaxy is probably the best in my opinion).
My favorite in nsmb Wii is definitely the skeleton coaster level. There was nothing more fun than having to maneuver through a volcano as a roaring dragon skeleton was plunging into lava and then grabbing your friend and throwing them off the side
3:22 I personally think that Super Mario World’s best level was the underground auto scroll level where platforms lift up and go back down (It was also just the most memorable level in my opinion) 6:24 I also really liked the Thwomp Land level from Super Mario Galaxy
The first time I played a "choose the right path" segment in a level, was in new super mario bros DS at bowers castle. It was such an interesting concept to me. Most likely because of the fact that it was the first Mario game that I ever played. 😅
Some weird choices for sure. Boo's Mansion seemed really clunky and poorly-designed compared to the Bob-Omb Battlefield, and I thought New Donk City was way more impressive than the Sand Kingdom. Also, Space Zone for life in SML2.
Well uhm.... I think it was "just ok". Its not bad, but its... A bit harder, and i have the patience and skill of a potato, so .... Ehh... There are defenetly good moments, but... After an hour you are just running around, not finding any stars.
I personally loved Steam Garden and New Donk City, it was something really disruptive so see Mario in a human realistic scenario, but at the same time I loved all the secrets you could find in this level, asides from being like an ultimate rendition to the origin of the game itself and all the nostalgia it brings
"One of the weakest things about Super Mario Sunshine that almost everyone agrees on are the levels." Wait, in literally what world? That said, still an enjoyable video. It's always really cool seeing the Mario games discussed to such a degree, especially the less talked-about ones.
The pachinko, poison river, and sand bird certainly weren't the most fun to be had in video games (and Corona Mountain was pretty disappointing), but I still feel these low points are a minority of the game's design when compared to pretty much every other level.
My favorite level of Super Mario World is Bowser’s Castle, it tests all your skills you’ve learned throughout your journey and can be challenging in quite a few sections. And of course the final fight with Bowser is just awesome, especially the music!
Great video! I was about to write an essay on why BBH is not the best level in sm64 but I realized I may be biased after falling down into that circus music room and having to reset so many speedruns. I also love WDW and some say it's their least favorite. So instead of the essay I'll just say great video!
From what I've played, here's my list; SMB: 3-1 SMB3: 1-2 SMW-1-2 on right path (idk the name) SM64: Shifting Sand land SMS: Pinna Park NSMB: 3A SMG: Beach Bowl Galaxy NSMBW: 6 Castle SM3DL: 1-1 NSMB2: 1-3
One of my favorite Mario games was Mario and Luigi dream team and I was wondering why it wasn’t included on here but noticed it doesn’t really have ‘levels’🤣

@@vanengelhardt7586 How is Mario Bros. not a main Mario game? And he never specified that he was only including main Mario games. It says every Mario game. If lt has Mario in the title or is set in the Mushroom Kingdom, lt is a Mario game.
Feel like I’m the only one who wants a galaxy 3 game. Most others want sunshine 2 or odyssey 2 but for me galaxy series just stood out so much! The game, game physics, storyline, characters and general worlds/levels were all amazing! Let’s not forget the soundtrack!
honestly, the best super mario bros level is either the first one (1-1) or the last one (8-4). 1-1 is a good and cool level but its very basic, however 8-4 takes everything you did in the entire last 7 worlds and mashes it all together to create the greatest finale since star wars
“The best level is by far BBH” That’s a really bold statement, pretty much every level besides THI and RR could be considered the best by the community
It received very well and it’s one of, if not the only new big Switch title from Nintendo that doesn’t have DLC. That kinda tells me they got more ideas for what to do, ideas that warrant a sequel. I think we will see sometime this year.
Last Nyanmurai 1- I said “one of, if not the only”. Not the same as saying “the only”. 2- MM2 gets free updates. Which is far better for keeping the game alive than paid DLC.
Well, I don't really have a strong opinion on some of these games, but you picked some weird options for my favorite Mario games, especially Sunshine. I'd say Mario Land 2 is Wario's Castle, very packed with action. My favorite Sunshine level is Pianta Village, it just feels very chill and I love it. And my favorite game of all time is Galaxy, but I actually do agree with you on that.
World 1-1 is a common favorite level for SMB but that’s because it’s SOO good, I always hate it when people say it’s stupid to like it more than other levels
7:59 “Green she’ll easier to traverse” as if you didn’t have to do the one star mission in Galaxy 1 on beach bowl galaxy where you literally had to steal the gold shell
My picks: SMB: 4-2 - The most important level in the game as it shows Nintendo's knack for playing with expectations. Plus it opens with a daring jump, hidden coin block and three Goombas in a row. The rest of it is fun to rip through even without warping. SMB2j - Probably 8-3 for going all the way with the trolling. SMB2/Doki Doki Panic: 7-1 - Some levels here have shortcuts to skip the whole thing, 7-1 has an alt. route just so you can score an extra HP and backtrack. Plus it forces you to be creative with stacking mushroom blocks. SMB3: 7-8 - It's a tough pick with this game but I gave it the nod for showing every variety of Piranha Plant and the free Hammer Bros. suit. SML: 2-2 - I always dug how you could choose a higher or lower route. SMW: Donut Plains 1 - Really demonstrates what the game's about by introducing the cape and rewarding you for exploration with the hidden exit and coin area. SML2: Mario Zone 2 (beach balls) - Great platforming action that embodies the toy aesthetic of this sub-map. SM64: Wet Dry World - It's fun to jump around without water and swim through when flooded. I don't know the later Mario games by heart very well.
Something tells me he just looked at the levels and said sure why not. WHY?! In the last vid he doesn’t put Rainbow Ride as worst. I get its an opinion but he doesn’t describe why it’s good/bad enough.
3:24 - this level was always excellent if you had a yoshi. exposure to all of the different koopa colors meant easy access to whatever specific yoshi upgrade you might want, provided you can keep it through the rest of the level
Noki Bay is actually my least favorite Sunshine level (for some reason it always felt tedious to me?). I agree that it’s beautiful though-Sunshine is a gorgeous game. Love your videos!
By far my favorite areas are Jolly Roger Bay in SM64 and Ghostly Galaxy in SMG. Both are extremely nostalgic for me, as I've always adored the music and atmosphere of Jolly Roger Bay, and I have very fond memories of having fun with Bouldergeist's battle in Ghostly Galaxy. My favorite Odyssey area has yet to be discovered, as I've only ever been as far as the Wooded Kingdom. It'll probably end up being either the Lake Kingdom or Ruined Kingdom, as both are very much my aesthetic.
As much as I loved the general aesthetic, it was pretty dull and empty. They could have stuck with more of the chalet theme, but they stayed with the bland regular snow look for most of it.
Super Mario 3 Giant World is my favorite, I believe level 5 or 6 where you get the Tanooki suit, Super Mario Brothers, 1-2, just the music itself made that level awesome
Wow. You had my favorite level from Sunshine as the worst and my least favorite as your favorite. We’re clearly opposites when it comes to Sunshine.

They have the same thing in Wii's 2-Castle.
Some weird choices for sure. Boo's Mansion seemed really clunky and poorly-designed compared to the Bob-Omb Battlefield, and I thought New Donk City was way more impressive than the Sand Kingdom. Also, Space Zone for life in SML2.
5:07 sunshine don't have a weakness, almost everyone agrees is very triggering to hear
Agreed, I absolutely loved all of the levels on Sunshine during my playthrough.
I personally hate the game.
@@BrerOswald no game ever made pleases everyone, as long as you like 'it's awesome baby', you're good
@@car2911 who doesn't like its awesome baby?
Well uhm.... I think it was "just ok". Its not bad, but its... A bit harder, and i have the patience and skill of a potato, so .... Ehh... There are defenetly good moments, but... After an hour you are just running around, not finding any stars.
I personally loved Steam Garden and New Donk City, it was something really disruptive so see Mario in a human realistic scenario, but at the same time I loved all the secrets you could find in this level, asides from being like an ultimate rendition to the origin of the game itself and all the nostalgia it brings
I 100% agree with the sand kingdom, it was soooo fun and i loved playing balloon world there
"One of the weakest things about Super Mario Sunshine that almost everyone agrees on are the levels."
Wait, in literally what world?
That said, still an enjoyable video. It's always really cool seeing the Mario games discussed to such a degree, especially the less talked-about ones.
Uh, sunshine was pretty meh. Ive seen people still like it, but cmon. It had the pachinko and a ton of other issues.
The pachinko, poison river, and sand bird certainly weren't the most fun to be had in video games (and Corona Mountain was pretty disappointing), but I still feel these low points are a minority of the game's design when compared to pretty much every other level.
4:34 hazy maze cave tho
My favorite level of Super Mario World is Bowser’s Castle, it tests all your skills you’ve learned throughout your journey and can be challenging in quite a few sections. And of course the final fight with Bowser is just awesome, especially the music!
2:17 Actually it makes an appearance in Mario Kart Wii!
duckface Don’t know which one, some desert one. Either DS or Wii, but I remember it being Wii.
You mean Ds

I think copycat regrets saying “this list is just MY opinion”
My favorite kingdom in Mario Oddysey was the Metro Kingdom. Your favorite level in Mario Oddysey is one of my least favorite level
Me too i don't understand why he chose this one I hate it
Great video! I was about to write an essay on why BBH is not the best level in sm64 but I realized I may be biased after falling down into that circus music room and having to reset so many speedruns. I also love WDW and some say it's their least favorite. So instead of the essay I'll just say great video!
Super Mario 3 was pretty fun coming from a 15 year olds perspective
Noah Fish same
From what I've played, here's my list;
SMB: 3-1
SMB3: 1-2
SMW-1-2 on right path (idk the name)
SM64: Shifting Sand land
SMS: Pinna Park
NSMB: 3A
SMG: Beach Bowl Galaxy
NSMBW: 6 Castle
SM3DL: 1-1
NSMB2: 1-3
One of my favorite Mario games was Mario and Luigi dream team and I was wondering why it wasn’t included on here but noticed it doesn’t really have ‘levels’🤣
8-6 is one of my favorites too, mainly due to the springs, which is also why I love 6-6, I also love 2-3

NSPcrazY112 right. I wish he would stop saying that. It’s very frustrating.
every main mario game, not spin offs
@@vanengelhardt7586 How is Mario Bros. not a main Mario game? And he never specified that he was only including main Mario games. It says every Mario game. If lt has Mario in the title or is set in the Mushroom Kingdom, lt is a Mario game.
NSPcrazY112 Mario bro’s is an arcade game, so it doesn’t count as a main Mario game
@@vanengelhardt7586 Who said all Mario games have to be console games? Besides, you can play Mario Bros. on 2600 & NES, so lt is a console game.
Feel like I’m the only one who wants a galaxy 3 game. Most others want sunshine 2 or odyssey 2 but for me galaxy series just stood out so much! The game, game physics, storyline, characters and general worlds/levels were all amazing! Let’s not forget the soundtrack!
No one:
Music in this video: I am going to skip ahead now.
honestly, the best super mario bros level is either the first one (1-1) or the last one (8-4).
I think we all know Whomps fortress is the best level in 64, that’s why it came back in Galaxy 2
Wow you really are expecting SMO2. I'm not the most sure about it though.
It received very well and it’s one of, if not the only new big Switch title from Nintendo that doesn’t have DLC. That kinda tells me they got more ideas for what to do, ideas that warrant a sequel. I think we will see sometime this year.
@@TheBrutalSax Mario maker 2 isn't big?

1- I said “one of, if not the only”. Not the same as saying “the only”.
2- MM2 gets free updates. Which is far better for keeping the game alive than paid DLC.
BrutalSax Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Nah I still want the money$.
Sunshine is a beautiful game and I love the levels.
A lot of these "best levels" were also the "weirdest levels."

He really said that SAND KINGDOM is the best. Damn.
whats wrong with it
Im not sure he actually played any games to completion...very weird choices
Tostarena is the one they hooked u with. Why wouldn't it be up there? I'm just glad it wasn't metro again.
My picks:
SMB: 4-2 - The most important level in the game as it shows Nintendo's knack for playing with expectations.
2:29 I hate that level
I agree with big boos haunt
Something tells me he just looked at the levels and said sure why not. WHY?! In the last vid he doesn’t put Rainbow Ride as worst. I get its an opinion but he doesn’t describe why it’s good/bad enough.
3:24 - this level was always excellent if you had a yoshi. exposure to all of the different koopa colors meant easy access to whatever specific yoshi upgrade you might want, provided you can keep it through the rest of the level
LOL I can’t believe you chose the quick sand level in SM3!!!!! I was like WHAT
More great video ideas like this please! Subbed!
Noki Bay is actually my least favorite Sunshine level (for some reason it always felt tedious to me?). I agree that it’s beautiful though-Sunshine is a gorgeous game. Love your videos!

Well done Copy Cat!
This video is awesome!
My fave is World 1-1.
I think the Snow Kingdom in Odyssey is so underrated!
Very underrated but definitely not the best either
As much as I loved the general aesthetic, it was pretty dull and empty. They could have stuck with more of the chalet theme, but they stayed with the bland regular snow look for most of it.
My favourite kingdom In super mario odyssey is sand kingdom because of the music and colourful town I also like the Oasis part.
I feel that this title with every water level uploaded on April 1st would work.
In Mario Galaxy I was thinking about the same place, but I was like, maybe for them is not so cool...
Super Mario 3 Giant World is my favorite, I believe level 5 or 6 where you get the Tanooki suit, Super Mario Brothers, 1-2, just the music itself made that level awesome
Copycat: Big boo's haunt is the only level in the game that isn't accessed through a painting or a pipe
