- Ike & Tina Turner and the Ikettes perform 'A Fool in Love' on "Hollywood A-Go Go" in 1965. Once again, sorry about the "FOR RESEARCH ONLY" thing...I'd remove it if I could. But I hope you enjoy it all the same!

May she rest in eternal peace. There will never be another like her. She had it all; grit, beauty, brains and TALENT. None of these new female “singers” today have talent and none of them will ever be able to say they have 50 years in the business.
RIP Tina Turner
The Queen Of Rock and Roll.
1939 - 2023
At The Age Of 83 Years Old.
This is so great.
Original, strong, and talent beyond measure.
We lost a star today.
Love you Tina.
Ya' know, when they built Angela Bassett up to play that role, I thought they over did it with the muscles. But now I see.
@noeltaylor3594 they definitely over did it, Tina looked nothing like Angela.
She does that "HEY!!" The best!!
She does a LOT of stuff the best!
Right
"Heeey" yeah! 😃
Simply the best
She invented the hey
NO lady sings like her . Awesome raw live version !!!!
If you check out Mahalia Jackson, she sings gospel but her voice is powerful and she taught Aretha Franklin to sing... She was asked to go mainstream but she turned them down.
@Darwin Vinson u can't
fantasia barrino can
@@Dulcess It's interesting that you mentioned Mahalia Jackson and gospel because hearing and watching Tina made me realize her voice was given to Glorify The Most High... The world offered her a much cheaper offer though.
I really like this
The background singers are GREAT. All are on point.
The one in the middle I'd Robbie from sweetie pie
They know better.
LISTEN... and on THE point. lol
Darlene Love is one of the backup singers.
Ike was mean to EVERYONE and cuss them out too .
anna mae bullock you're priceless!!
2:15 Tina was droppin it like it was hawt...
step 2 the back of the line B..lol
Sherri Blanton I love her like I love myself. She's priceless

Wow! The rawness in & of her voice is FREAKING magical! ❤❤❤❤❤🎤🎶🎶🎶
Great
She has those gospel licks brother
Pati, Aretha and Tina donated DNA and Fantasia popped out❤
When Angela Bassett performed this song on what's love got to do with it I swear she was hitting the Tina Turner moves so perfect that's my favorite part of the movie
Me too I love her she also plays Athena I'm the 9-1-1 show you should check it out if ur a Angela basset fan there is also Jennifer love Hewitt check it out but thanks for pointing that out 😂❤❤❤
My favorite too! Angela wwas truly “possessed” by the spirit of Tina Turner for that performance, and Tina was still very much with us at the time!
She's STILL ahead of the times! Rest Easy Queen.
Tina Turner will always be the Queen of rock and roll. And that's something that nobody can never take from her
The Voice
The Range
The Moves
The Icon
RIH Tina❤❤❤
Classic! No Autotune, 270 shows a year + love band, plus recordings! They don't do this anymore
That raw, throaty and gritty voice is what makes Miss Tina stand out!
Tina sounds so clear and soulful.
I never get enough of this song . She is the QUEEN
Yes, I played this record to death until it melted, through the scratches whatever on my record player as a teenager. I took my allowance and bought another one.😂 Love me some Tina Turner!♥️
I love these bluesy originals.
Likewise ❤

what an iconic performance. the Queen of Rock & Roll always and forever ♥️
The original kings and queen of St.Louis remember that ike and Tina
This gave the music world a real look at who this woman was as a performer and the breakthrough of how she would always be remembered.
Everything was already there: the sheer energy, the voice, and Ann Mae Bullock / Tina Turner’s spirit ✨✨✨forever
*Anna
It was there from 1960, five years earlier.
@@Rakel6784Ààaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaqqqqqqaa❤🎉pp😢
Ann Mae bullock has ms Tina Turner
Well done "Anna May Bullock" A naturally God gifted talent. Much love for the ikettes.
The queen of rock she founded the sound Rolling Stones learned from her!
The girl dancing behind Tina is killing it!
I want her phone # yep
Shes doing the cool jerk
feeling it lol
T Jones: like a chicken in hot ashes.!
the hairs in my body stand strait up when I watch this & my eyes well up in tears because I'm so moved by her belting out that song. Angela Bassett did her justice in the movies portrayal of this song in "What's Love Got to Do With It" but my God, nobody does it like Queen 👑 Tina 🙌💯🔥....holy 💩👑🙌
#💞💞💞💞💋
Samantha Covington that growl... she is fire🔥 🐾
Exactly angela bassett nailed tina
Samantha, I have the exact body reaction whenever I hear a really special song. This has happened my whole 50+ years on this Earth, I thought I was the only person that this happened to, good to know I’m not!😎👍🏻
Tina is a goddess. It took another goddess like Angela to embody her for that movie. ♡
@@christopherfogarty8142 Nah It's a lot of people that way.Hence the name Soul music, music that touches the soul.
Blistering performance!!!! Absolutely amazing, everyone! Shout out to Miss Robbie in the background!
That white Dancer on the right of Tina ain't playing with thise Ikettes!!!
She couldn’t hang with the Ikettes
Haha! I had to take it back! She was getting it!
Baby she got her feet on they knecks😂😂😂
@@musicstan6362 She was jerk'n tf outta that sht".🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is my favorite song by Tina and im so proud Miss Robbie did this song with her
Tina & the Ikettes had amazing chemistry with each other. No cattiness & jealousy toward Tina. Just professionalism & comrade with each other. In another video, Ann (as Ike & the rest of the band called her) and the Ikettes helped each other with the choreography, while getting ready for a show. BTW… it’s great to see Miss Robbie from Welcome to Sweeties Pies, back on the day as an Ikette. Ann and her Ikettes performed as one.
people stood by eachother then thats why they were a success no divide and rule
It became catty when she found out he was clapping their cheeks
God I love it when someone puts absolutely EVERYTHING they have into a song!! A perfect 10.
She flipping killed it. DAMN!!!
I once drove over the Mountains in Utah , to the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City, , in a blizzard, to see Ike and Tina - Live. Was really harrowing on the trip home. HAVE NEVER REGRETTED THAT TRIP OF A LIFETIME>
Raw Tina... honey straight from the bee.
Buelligan88 comb
Just love the way she moves and her vocals just tearing through the song. The rhythm is completely infectious, you can't help but move! Love the raw feel and energy of this video. Love you Tina! ❤️ RIP
love this woman, I'm 52 years old and I have loved her my whole life, an enormous talent that just gets better like fine wine :) xo
Yes, that girl is gettin' down on that damn cube though! Lmao! Go girl!
ROFL! 🤣🤣🤣
Literally LOL’d
I know you lying 😂
Lol totally. The crowd are awesome 😎
😂😂😂 she’s gettin it
Their energy was unmatched. I love how Ike and the guitar players were back there turnt on the break @ 2:12
Tina and the iketts were amazing.
Its 0:34 for me
You just a fool. you know you're in love! I love you Tina!!!
💞💯🙌👑 QUEEN Tina 🙌💋
Don't figure out my age, but I remember hearing Ike and Tina Turner performing this on American Bandstand back around 1961 or 1962.
God go with you during this challenging time.
Ok, I heard when I was in elementary school in 1960 while living in LA.
I bet hearing that “heeey” live would give me chills
So So Good! Saw her in concert in the mid 80's and she was still rock'n this song. No one can belt this out like Tina!!
Very true Howard!
I was privledged to attend her final concert in Britain ``at (the old) Wembley Stadium on Sunday 16th July 2000.
She arrived on stage and asked "Is everybody here?"
We all yelled "Yes!" and she went straight into "A Fool In Love", (which was released the year I was born - 1961.)
No-one can "totter" about a stage wearing stilettoes and pull it off as well as Tina - and she could still belt out A Fool in Love and her "Hey hey hey hey hey"" gave me goosebumps - still does!!
What a wonderful woman!!!
I don't think anybody was as big of a fan of Tina than my mom. RIP MOMMY. I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU. THIS IS FOR YOU.
❤️
That's a real Singer right there! Who belts out a song like Tina Turner anymore?
I remember seeing Mick Jagger being interviewed and he described an occassion when Tina gave the Stones a personal, impromtu performance of River Deep, Mountain High. Mick seemed awestruck describing this as the most magnificent performance he had ever seen from anyone, anywhere. Looking at some of these old clips of Tina it is easy to see where Mick was coming from.
I saw the Tina Turner Revue in the early 80s in a small club in Santa Cruz, CA, the Catalyst, capacity 900. She had a band and 3 backup singers. They danced the whole time, much like this video. She was phenomenal. One of the best stage shows I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of the greats. She was a wonderful entertainer, very personable, good audience rapport, and gave her all in singing and dancing. Never a dull moment!
Game me goosebumps🤩
@@lilyroza😅
Damn!!! She got POWER!! She got some notes and I got shook🎉💓
Unmistakable voice! Rip Queen ❤
Rest In Peace, dear Lady. 😔 Thank you for the great songs. 🎤🎶 One of my favorite songs was "Nutbush City Limits."
The words 'legend and icon' are often over used in music... but they totally describe Tina Turner. RIP
R.I.P. Tina 🙏🏽
RIP Tina Turner.
I'll never forget you.
How in the HELL can you not LOVE this?
There is only one Tina!!! A real music diva & legend 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great performance! Hey Ms. Robbie!!!
The Great & Irreplaceable Tina Turner,A Gorgeous & Super Talented Lady ❤️
I've always loved her music. This is one of my favorites. RIP Legend.
What I respect the most is how she checks behind her, how in tune w/her back up girls she is. #SignsOfAhumanitarian
@Amber Laughlin : 0:52-1:23 I like that too, good performance right here 👏 👌
Tina is the best with a lot of emotion and she knows how do it!
Them vocals WTFFFFFFFFFF!😍
A mesmerizing performance. Stunningly good!
My life listening to music on the radio, especially AM back in the 50's-60's brought me here
The LEGENDARY Ms. Tina Turner
Crazy watching old videos like this, all that entertainment and still had to leave out the back door
The first girl to scream on a track
Let's not forget those dames in early movies, tied to the railroad by dastardly villains with the 2:19 heading their way and the good guys in the white hats galloping to the rescue.
Kelis really thought she was the first...😂
NO!
Scream , Really ? How ignorant
Joseph Haynes it’s a song lyric lol
Thanks for sharing that video. It is a piece of music history.
This was AWESOME!!!! Fav part of this rare live performance was around 2:12 where Tina breaks it on down and pops it to the camera. Her moves were simply electrifying!!!!! And the Ikettes gave great backing vocals throughout.
I love seeing Ms. Robbie from Sweetie Pies in the middle of the Ikettes. Tina was a Hurricane even back then. She blows people away. Love Her.
OMG. When accolades are given out for Best Rock Song Performance Ever . . . this has to be ranked amongst the very top. Unbelievable, and so early in the rock era. I think she was giving lessons to her students who would follow and emulate.

What A trip down memory lane thank you
Amazing! Love Tina and miss Robbie wish i was around during these yrs.
Everytime I hear this song I always wonder did Tina ever really listen to these lyrics.
Caramel Kitty I just watched a documentary about background singers and one guy said Ike thought he was a pimp and that Tina and the Ikettes were his hoes. A horrible man!
TvOne just aired Ike Turner Unsung and a lot of his friends and band mates seemed to be in denial about him abusing Tina.
Caramel Kitty I SAW THAT CRAP AND THOSE PEOPLE WERE VERY MUCH IN DENIAL!!, ONE IDIOT EVEN SAID, I SAW TINA WITH SWOLLEN EYES AND A BUSTED LIP, BUT I NEVER SAW IKE HIT HER, I CHANGED THE DAMN CHANNEL IT PISSED ME OFF SO BAD
Caramel Kitty Of course she really listened to these lyrics! Ike wouldn't have had it any other way. She was an abused woman, you may recall.
I said the same thing and even when watching the movie.....Those lyrics sounded like something going on in "Ike's World"
1:39 Tina was feelin those cymbals. Priceless right there
👍👍One of my favorite songs. That lady had such a unique voice. I always think about the outfits from the movie. The designer was off the chain.
DAMN. That opening.. Can you imagine that voice in a church choir?? The place would have erupted!
damn 1964 this 6 years before i born , miss her RIP TT greetings from Sydney Australia
Rock and roll legend
She's such a natural...makes it look so easy 😍
What a talent! RIP...
THE HAIRS ON THE BACK OF MY NECK AND GOOSEBUMPS !!! TINA WAS THE BOMB !!!
Damn what a voice
Sleep in heavenly peace Mrs. Tina Turner ❤😢
I never thought she had a pretty voice, but when she sings like she does in this song it gives me chills and I love it. Does this make sense to anyone else?? I could listen to this clip a hundred times and not get tired of it. AND the Ikettes and go go dancers are the icing on the cake!
Tina has a raspy voice which makes her sound sexy and seductive, she has the voice, the body and most of all she's got those B@D@$$ legs!!
Maturity takes time. Same as a baby eating and spitting it out. Over time it becomes familiar. As well as seasoned. Maybe life gave you an experience to relate, and then you comprehend the depths of her soul, her sound😇🙏
Sounds like you’re hearing soul.
Singing doesn’t have to be pretty to be beautiful, emotional, and REAL.
She kills it.
In my opinion, one of the greatest needs of rock ‘n’ roll, is that the best love songs written in rock ‘n’roll was written by Ike Turner.
That woman know she SANG this song!!! She sangs HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY like I've never heard!! She's still amazing & I'm gonna bop 2 her songs 4 the rest of my LIFE!!!
Still good in 2018 😛
I’m mad I missed this era of music. She set the blueprint for real
Rest In Paradise Tina Turner
Take THAT Ike turner . No one will ever compare to her..she can't be matched ❤. Thank you Ike Turner for bringing us Lil Anna Mae and her becoming TINA TURNER ❤. Truly 1 of a kind...there will NEVER be another. 🎶 Tina is up in heaven with the other greats... Janis Joplin, Prince 💜, Patsy Kline,Elvis,Michael Jackson,Freddie Mercury...so many other amazing artists. I bet it's one big musical party & Tina was welcomed with open arms. ❤
During the mid / late 60's , I had the privilege of seeing the two most powerful , energetic performers ever.....Tina Turner and James Brown!
No entertainers in history could match them for raw energy....RIP James....Love you Tina...Simply the BEST!
Damn I love Tina Turner!!!!!!!!
Thank you, TINA TURNER for doing your part to help tame mankind with your gift and talent. Truly an end of an era.
The girl to the right of Tina at 1:47 is "doin' the Jerk." It was a fun dance but it was easy to throw your back out!
All the girls in the background are really tearing those old dance moves up lol white or black I am impressed!!
The other solo dancer behind her I believe is doing the Swim and Watusi
It's like he wrote the song to subconsciously admit his intentions for this woman. Smh
Nina Blaze it was written for a Male singer, he couldn't make it 5o record it...Ike heard tina singing it and release it as a hit
That's what I said!
Ike wrote this joint.
Ike didn’t write this
@@kourtneyoneal5122 yes, he did look up the lyrics and at the end it would day song writer ike Turner.
She’s so beautiful and talented ❤❤ R.I.P Queen 👸🏽 😢
