    Worth mentioning that there is currently a high number of CDP account applications and they are taking longer than usual to process the applications! Hoping it isn't as delayed as our passport renewal, but from the email I received, it is now minimum 20 business days 😢 Applied for the account on Oct 18 hoping to get it processed and opened/activated in time for the Nov issuance, but no news since then, will likely only be able to invest in Dec or Jan 2023.

    Hello Demi, thank you for the insightful video and make me wanted to start invest in SSB. I am looking at T-bills as well and wonder if you have a video of how to invest in T-bills or thoughts of investing in both SSB and T-bills vs all in just SSB

    • @DemiZhuang
      @DemiZhuang  Год назад +1

      Hello! Ah as of now I don’t have but just my thoughts here - T-Bills are shorter durations and not flexible. 6 months or 1 year, your money is locked in. Whereas for SSB’s its a 10 year tenure, you’re locking in the interest rates for that period of time but should you need the money, redemption (depending on which day of the month you do it) is pretty quick. Really depends on where you’re at financially and stage of life to incorporate both respectively.

    Let me check you with. Singapore saving bond term is up to 10 years. Let’s say if I want to withdraw after 2 years, can it be done? or we have to wait unit 10 years?

    • @DemiZhuang
      @DemiZhuang  4 месяца назад

      Yes can be done. Just submit your redemption via online banking, pay $2. Do checkout the timeline for the money to reach your account too.

    For cash where does the dividend (payout) goes? Into the bank account? Or CDP account? For SRS can you advise if it goes to srs account? Can the amount be used for new srs contribution? Do you know how these 2 works?🤔

      @@DemiZhuang thanks Demi. Regarding the allotment. Have you experienced not getting full allotment before? How was the money returned and was there service fee?

    • @DemiZhuang
      @DemiZhuang  10 месяцев назад

      @guardian7keys if you don’t manage to get full, they’ll return to the original account. You’ll just pay the fee once.

    How likely is any of the Singapore's large local banks such as DBS-POSB, UOB, OCBC, Standard Chartered Bank, CitiGold Bank SG, MayBank, etc to default on enormous mortgage and commercial loans (extreme bad debts) such that the mark-to-market accounting results released as news by these publicly-traded banking groups shock investors and cause the banks' stock prices to collapse, even the stock exchange to potentially shutter for a few days like during the 1985 Pan-Electric debacle to stop huge trading losses and flush out of funds? Therefore, what if any of the local banks in Singapore turn bankrupt and such news is announced?

    Demi do you have video on Singapore T Bills? The method of how the interest are paid out is really confusing me.

    • @DemiZhuang
      @DemiZhuang  10 месяцев назад +2

      Hi, I don't but the interest is basically paid up front. i.e. you invested 10,000, receive the interest today and 6 months later the capital gets returned back to you.
