It seems pretty common in all families. Some parents think they can use the excuse of “Well, my parents did this to me and I turned out fine.” 1. Both these parents are straight up child abusers and should lose custody of their children and not get them back until they've gone through several years of deep therapy. Most likely they will instead revert to their same behavior, and when these children turn 18 they will leave and shut the door or hold these parents accountable for their behavior every day for the rest of their lives, in ways that will take their breath away, like banning them from every being around their grandchildren, just to protect their kids from the grandparents.
