    I'd like to see the comparison using fine gold. That would let us know which was better. Almost any pan can get the pickers. The fine stuff, not so much in a quick manner.

    And the winner is... batea... with such big gold, may be even salad bowl...
    Don't get me wrong, but not much gold above mesh 40 here, a lot under 100 mesh...
    Batea gets me that tiny gold and fast...

    Hopefully after 5 whole years this dude has become an expert with the Gold-Claw; tapping the Gold away from the black sands instead of using the side-end wherein you stand to lose your Vitamin G.

    You are using the gold claw wrong - you should reshoot this video test as the results are null if you don't operate the equipment properly. It's my understanding that the gold claw is used more like a mini sluice rather than using a panning technique.

    Nice video. Three minutes for the Gold Claw. One minute forty seconds for the Turbo Pan.

      Only because he wasn't using the gold Claw properly. Judging from the other comments he doesn't know how to use the TurboPan properly either, so this entire comparison is pretty useless. I'm a Gold Claw fan myself. I could have panned down the material he took almost 2 minutes to pan in about 30 seconds. I suspect a skilled Turbopan user could make a similar claim as to the time needed to pan that amount of material.

      Someone skilled with the Gold Claw can work down a shovel full of dirt in around 20 second when used properly. In the field the ability to use one hand, can come in handy.

    The tub you were panning into is what I use to pan with. First with a side, then the cornor.
    It doesn't get down to a small amount of cons, but it moves a lot of material. Fast!

  • @Turbopanner
    @Turbopanner 7 лет назад +13

    Jesse with the small Turbopan it's better if you hold it flat just under the water and swirl gently counter clockwise. This will separate black sands from gold at about 97% recovery on the super small gold (40 micron stuff). Still good video because it shows a panner can use turbopan just like a normal pan with the gold ending up in the central well. That means it has a lot further to travel to get out of the pan

    This is NOT how the Gold Claw manufacturer/ designer demonstrated how to use it, you have just lost every fine spec in your pan,. you are just flushing your work away..

  • @golddiggersau4729

    Geez, it would really help if you knew how to use a Turbopan properly and trusted it fully before you start doing comparison videos. So this video in my opinion is nothing to go by.
    Turbopans will always win hands down over the gold claw and leave it in it's dust simply by how it is designed when in the hands of a skilled prospector.
    This is no joke and I'm a female and I can even pan down a 20 litre (5 gallon) bucket of materials in well under 3 minutes with the 16" turbopan and still could do it in under 5 minutes with my 10" turbopan.

    Gold claw for sure! The turbo pan left too much junk in the pan where the gold claw really refined it.

    What if you had used a black or clear Gold Claw, would that have made it more competitive? Also, does the different color choices Gold Claw offers (Black, dark blue, light blue, dark green, light green, clear) have any advantage over the conventional colored pans?

    • @itukuppoo4280
      @itukuppoo4280 2 года назад +1

      Different colors are just a gimmick though black makes the black sand harder to see. I prefer the green ones. Ever hear of sand or dirt being green?

    I like the turbopan which i have the large one.....If i can make a suggestion. Stratify, then swirl the water in the pan level in the counterclockwise direction (do not swirl the pan) letting the lights fall out the top while swirling counterclockwise...... it's like a sluice...., then swirl the water clockwise to get the heavy's to the bottom. stratify again and repeat the process, then pan as usual at the opening.... Type turbopan in the search window.
    You still recovered the gold though...... good vid. I love my turbopan and want to get the small one for sampling out here in the sonoran desert.
    Good Luck

  • @itukuppoo4280
    @itukuppoo4280 2 года назад

    What does doing s sterring wheel motion do to stratify the dirt which looks like its overloading the pan? Since there is no 'real' gold flakes in the dirt that would fall out of the gold claw with that side to side motion, this really does nothing to show that the gold claw really catches anything. A simple batea pan would extract more gold than these put together. A good comparison would dictate pulling unplanted gold from stream dirt.

    The Gold Club looks like it's made for right-handed people.... Do they make one for left-handed people... The reason I ask is because those fine ridges are on the side of the pan to where you that be right handed to use it... Or maybe that's just the way it looks to me I like to see a left handed person make it work..... Where the turbo or the regular old-fashioned pan you don't matter if you're right or left handed ...
