Hey Soph one of Lush's Makeup Artists here 😃 just want to say thank you for a genuinely fair, balanced and attentive review. It's always nice to see our vegan, plastic-free range being highlighted! You may have preferred the foundation rather than the trix stick as a base as it has a less glowy/ more lightweight feel. Darker Trix sticks work great for bronzing and contouring whereas the glow stix primarily just work as highlighters (being as there mainly plastic- free glitter based!) There's always some residue when putting the refil lipsticks into the case so they fit tightly and won't come loose but you're not wasting any excess product from doing that! You should definitely check out the shades Riga, Beitedine and Porto in our lipstick range, they're exactly your kind of colours! Also we do have a primer- it's a mattifying beauty balm called Magical Morninga! 🥰🥰
just a psa for everyone, most plastic that you think you are recycling is never actually recycled - it is often sent abroad and burnt. always choose reducing and reusing over recycling. recycling is not the answer!
I agree!! Its a wonderful concept ,but porrly executed, same for their toothpaste, id rather it have no taste than taste like i sprayed windex and perfume in my mouth
I work at Lush I just want to say that most of the fragrances actually come from the essential oils and ingredients. There are some products that use fragrance of course but for most stuff the ingredients have good skin treatment qualities. I guess what I’m trying to say is the reason they can’t make fragrance free is because the fragrance are essential ingredients to making the skin care work. I hope that makes sense! But I totally get it, it can be a lot for people who are sensitive to smell.
for the tanning on ur neck issue, i use a big dense powder brush and apply it with that in stippling motions pretty much. i get a LOT of color that way.
At Lush we do have brow products! There are a few brow crayons in selected stores, Oxford street being one but they mustn't have had any! As for primers we have a facial primers called Magical Moringa, however it is a little on the heavier side so if you're wanting something a little lighter then i'd suggest looking at the moisturiser called Vanishing Cream as i use this under my make up and its fab! As for the cleanser, rub it between the hands for a bit longer and it will melt a lot easier, but make sure you use a cloth to get rid of it so that you dont end up with lots of product still on your face working without working there hahah! Enjoy x
Yeah it's a shame! They're working on some new ones I believe so hopefully we will get them soon. We've got almost all of it but not the new foundations. Which store are you from? Xx
I’m sick rn and I put the volume on the tv waaaaay too high since I cannot hear anything and the neighbors gf came and knocked on the door to ask if I was watching Soph on RUclips 😂
Emily S yes I love that she’s done this it’s so important! I am always trying to find new ways to cut down my waste and be more environmentally friendly x
It’s so great to see you talking about eco friendly make up ☺️ and you look beautiful with it! It enhances your features really nice ☺️ I’m a sucker for organic and natural make up so I love seeing you review these kind of brands ☺️ One of the reasons lush is kind of expensive is because everybody in the production chain is paid fair! Also Waste and plastic free make up also does not only is about packaging, but also about micro plastic inside of cosmetic products! ☺️ a lot of „usual“ make up brands for example use reflective microplastic in highlighters or eyeshadows :) So lush is not only package free but also fair trade and does not use any ingredients that are harmful for your body ☺️
Could you try body shop make up? They do recycle their products. You can bring back used packaging for then to recycle. Their stuff looks really interesting too. I love you x
I love the cleaning pads from lush which are less oily they sell it in a bottle form but they’ve also changed the formula to add some sort of beans and it makes a small circular thin bar for £2 you can also buy a reusable metal tin. They’re amazing you add water and use it like a bar of soap and massage into your skin it leaves my skin feeling so fresh clean and it removing all of my makeup! Then I just wipe my face with a damp cotton cloth that can be reused! It’s called the 9to 5 cleanser but in bar form. I absolutely love it you should defiantly give it a go! Love you sof 💕💕
FUN it’s the 9 to 5 cleanser which normally comes in bottle form but they have got the small bad version it’s amazing! And if you buy the liquid form you can return the bottle to be recycled!
LOVE that you're promoting zero waste/more eco friendly products! Please do more videos like this! Angel face mineral cosmetics looks great, so does love the planet makeup which you can buy on peace with the wild along with a bunch of other zero waste brands! Both are UK based too!
Okay. I just recently found your channel but it is 3:46 here in South Carolina (US) and I can't stop watching your videos 😂😭 I love how authentic you are and your personality just shines. Also, I love how you get a bit excited, or flustered?, and talk super fast. So relatable. Glad I found your channel! Keep on killin it!
Hey Soph, just wanted to let you know that I recently bought your extra spice eyeshadow palette and I love it! The packaging and the shadows in the pans are so pretty and they are so nicely pigmented on the eyes, really worth the price! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is so awesome; my family and I began switching to a lower waste lifestyle almost a year ago and it’s been really difficult with my love of makeup to find low or zero waste products
You're the first youtuber I've ever watched, I've been with you for years now and your channel just keeps getting better and better ❤ You deserve 1 million followers, hope you hit it by the end of this year ❤
To use Sleepy Face and Tea Totaler, I always recommend rubbing it onto your palm (which is usually very warm) and then rub the bar directly onto the face, massage it in, and then use a damp flannel or cotton pad etc to wipe it off. If it's still oily, follow it up with a toner water. Light Touch works in a similar way, except you just massage it into the skin and leave it!
Hi Soph! This is an awesome idea to try waste free makeup, please make more videos on how to reduce waste! I want to go zero waste and would love to see some options Love you so much
Hey Soph! Another one of Lush's Makeup Artists here! Definitely try the Slap Sticks and the liquid foundation if you can! I find them much easier to work with as a full base even on oily skin types. And as has been said before, thanks for the non biased, fair review! It's lovely to see! ❤
Yessss Soph! I love this! Try to be more zero-waste is so difficult and being able to see honest reviews of products is such a help! Keep it up, there’s an online brand Imve always fancied trying but haven’t yet called Elate Cosmetics. Maybe make this into a series?! 😆😆😆
sophdoesnails I work for the Body Shop, and my absolute favourite product we do is the Camomile Cleansing Balm make-up remover, it is incredible and you don’t need to use cotton pads or anything with it, just a flannel/muslin or even just your fingers. A 90ml tin lasted me about 4 months with near-everyday use and you can recycle it with the Body Shop once it’s empty (all of our bottles, pots, hand cream tubes etc can be brought back to us and recycled with Terracycle!). If you do want to review Body Shop from a sustainable standpoint too I recommend reading about our packaging & community trade work in India www.thebodyshop.com/en-gb/packaging/community-trade-recycled-plastic/e00010 ❤️ Not just recommending as a consultant but also as a customer, I’m proud to work for the Body Shop!
I love how people and brands are bringing awareness to recycling and helping the environment. I think it's a super important thing to be aware of. I have a 3 period class at school that is English, Evironmental Science and Agriculture all together and we recycle twice a week at school and do all kinds of community service projects and field trips and i really like it and think it's such a good thing that we do.
I love what lush does and what they stand for, sadly I haven't found products that haven't irritated my sensitive skin yet but because of their environmental efforts I shall keep trying
Hello Soph! Lush sales assistant here💛 I find the best way to use the naked cleansers are so warm them on to your hands, massage them onto the face and then remove with a hot flannel! Think of them as a solid Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish/Clinique Take The Day Off, hopefully you’ll get on better with it! Another good primer is the facial oil called Amazon Primer xxxx
I subscribed to you about 3 years ago now Soph, and you had around 350K subs at the time ! Now you nearly have 1M that’s crazy. I love watching your videos so much. Xx
I love the idea of waste free and natural makeup, but I also love my coverage! I hope lush can improve their formulas and make more full coverage stuff.
Since I moved to uk, a month ago, my skin has been terrible, full of acne and weird texture. I bought the lush clensing balm and with just 2 days of use my skin is soooo much better. I was impressed
#QuestionOfTheDay Do you prefer setting your liquid foundation with press powder, loose powder or powder foundation? Because I can't quite figure out which is better, they often look cakey on me and separates.
Nurse Lady hey just a little tip for you, set your under eyes with loose powder. You can tell if it’s too heavy or not by taking a tiny bit on the brush and blowing it off into the air, if it doesn’t appear to ‘drop’ then it’s a light enough powder and will be good for your skin if it drops it’s too heavy and will be cakey. To set the rest of your face use either a pressed or a loose powder x
I usually just set my face super lightly with translucent powder and bake on my chin since I get super oily there. Then use setting spray, also light liquid layers .Using heavy foundation and concealer are most of the reason why the skin ends up looking cakey.
As pretty and nice as baking is on some it can look super dry on others. My advice is to use a loose power that contains hyrating ingredients and to set you’re makeup with a nice setting spray. Morphe has a good continuous spray that’s really nice.
Light touch is like a face oil, and it sinks very easy to the skin the same time as it hydrates the skin. The other two, as you said, sleepy face and Tea totaler is gentle cleansers you either rinse away with warm water or you use a wet towel to rub it away.
Love the idea of you trying out more low-waste brands. Kjaer Weis, Couleur Caramel, Ben&Anna, Beauty Made Easy, KinKind, weDo Professionals, Antonym Beauty, Aether Beauty, rms Beauty, Axiology, Elate Cosmetics (!), Bésame (!), Keeping It Natural, Clean Faced Cosmetics, Fat and the Moon, Zao - are a selection of em. Would be so happy to see you give these a chance xx
Using an oil balm cleanser rather than something that foams is a lot more gentle on the skin and is very effective at breaking down make-up without stripping natural oil from the skin or tugging at the skin too harshly both of which cause premature ageing. You can follow up an oil cleanser with a water based cleanser to get extra clean but again it's best to not use anything overly stripping.
light touch is a solid serum, but they’re quite oily so might not be great to use before makeup! and i find the best way to take the solid cleansers off is with a flannel or cotton pads 😊
How can you be so pretty *.* I've joined not so much time ago and I already fell in love with your videos. Keep going Soph, love your personality and your contents. Much love from Italyyy xx
Yes Lush do a primer. It’s called magical moringa and it’s in the skincare section (with the moisturisers) I think they do a naked primer now too. And last Christmas they did do a brow pomade but they phased out a lot of their makeup before the slap sticks/trix sticks were released. My favourite were the eye powders which have now gone too. They were so sparkly!!
Use a foundation brush for your neck when you tan!! That's what i use for my face and neck. I also use a bit extra to my neck and chest since i find those parts fade the fastest
This is one of my favourite videos so far Honestly your so beautiful and funny “I feel like a kid drawing on my face” 😂❤️ I love you so much sophie 😘 x
#questionoftheday #QOTD How come I have seen more products tagged as Soph products on the makeuprevolution website but you have never mentioned those? That really is a bit confusing to me, love your content btw Xx
Soph, try the isle of paradise self tan drops if you haven’t already! I just prefer those over the water!! The tan is insane on the medium / dark drops
i think its a fair thing to consider but then again you just got to weight up what you value more. i mean as a global business with manufacturing in many different countries, i reckon LUSH would have to abide by many different laws regarding product hygiene. but just to point out, machines that squirt product into plastic packaging could likely carry just as much if not more bacteria depending on how they're cleaned than a person using kitchen utensils to pack product into these containers and set it in moulds. and if you're worried about store bought product being touched, there is always online purchasing direct from their "kitchens". anyway hope this helps to clear some of your doubt as I have been using LUSH for years and love their products to bits and would recommend them to anyone :) (so maybe I am bit biased too) haha
Glowing For The hey, that’s fair enough. Many of lush’s products do come wrapped in a waxy paper though, and I find that lasts really well with products that don’t get wet, it is honestly great for keeping the products in after purchasing. Otherwise I would recommend lacing a box/container with butchers paper to keep it in. Also with the lipsticks, you can get reusable tubes. Yes it would require cleaning before you refill. But personally I find it’s worth it considering the environmental and ethical benefits of the product and the brand. Hope this helps, I absolutely love the products and ethics behind them so happy to try my best answering any questions. Also I would note I haven’t used the makeup products but I am saving up to get them cause I think they look awesome 😊.
Hi Soph, a former lush sales Assistent here 😊 thank you for your video, I personally think you did a great job on showing an testing out the products. One thing I’d like to to point out though, for everyone who’s reading this actually, lush employees will LOVE to show you how each and every product is supposed to work, TRUST me😁. Please don’t be shy and can go and ask the stuff how certain products are supposed to be used and let them SHOW YOU. That’s usually part of the lush experience anyways. It would be so sad if you’d buy the products and then at home you have no idea how to actually use them the right way. I hope I was able to help out a little. Xoxo P.S. products like face cleansers, shampoos etc which are usually foaming a lot, aren’t foaming so much at lush. Their products still work perfectly fine, but in the beginning you will eventually feel like there is no or too little product on your skin, hair, etc. at lush we always say a little goes a long way, so don’t be worried. 😁
Soph apparenlty for tan to stick to your neck it helps to use a big fluffy makeup brush kinda like the big powder puff brushes primark sell to apply it. Xx
Hey Sophie! You should try to wet the cleansing bar and use it like it were hand soap, I have used bar cleansers for years and that's how I do it, they foam up nicely :)
The person in lush told me those solid oil cleansers are to be applied, left on for a minute to catch all the grime in your pores, then wiped away gently with a cotton pad or face cloth x
You look way better in natural makeup then full coverage like girl you don’t need full you have a really nice pretty face/skin you look so pretty with natural makeup !!
hi Soph, i have same atm problem with my boob area it never tanned untill i applied my tan with a big fluffy foundation brush in the area my tan wouldn't stick , i really hope this helps xx
Hey soph! Could you please do a video where you use eco friendly makeup and/or reach out to make up brands to ask if the ingredients in their products (e.g. palm oil etc) are sustainably sourced? I try to be as eco friendly as possible and would really love to see a video like this! Thanks🙂

just a psa for everyone, most plastic that you think you are recycling is never actually recycled - it is often sent abroad and burnt. always choose reducing and reusing over recycling. recycling is not the answer!
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!! So often it’s sent to 3rd world countries where it’s burnt or buried or just left to pollute the poorest areas
JayBeh Kay i know! and no one ever mentions it, why should other countries have to deal with all our waste it’s insane
Wow thank you for educating us who didn’t know x
Lisa w you’re welcome! x
Totally didn't know that.. will be using more reusable things instead of just getting recyclable things. Ty
I love the whole idea behind lush.... It just smells so strong. I wish they would go lighter on the fragrances.
I agree!! Its a wonderful concept ,but porrly executed, same for their toothpaste, id rather it have no taste than taste like i sprayed windex and perfume in my mouth

Ive honestly been searching high and low for a video like this!! Thanks soph x
You look STUNNING with such a natural make up. Beautiful!!!
Last time I was this early James Charles had brown hair 😂x
Littlemixlover 101 😂
hahahaha
So not that long ago ??
mathilda m it’s a joke 😂
Littlemixlover 101 that was like a week ago🤪
Use a foundation brush for your neck when you tan!! That's what i use for my face and neck. I also use a bit extra to my neck and chest since i find those parts fade the fastest
Would love to see a full face of vegan makeup♥️ or how about testing the body shop makeup? Love the vibe you’re giving pff in your videos💛
This is one of my favourite videos so far
Honestly your so beautiful and funny
“I feel like a kid drawing on my face” 😂❤️
I love you so much sophie 😘 x
Yay! I'm so happy to see this! I was actually going to ask if you could try out Lush makeup so this was amazing :)
The tan is insane on the medium / dark drops
the only problem i can imagine from these package-free products is how hygienic they are...
That’s always my first thought too 😅 makeup has packaging for a reason...
i think its a fair thing to consider but then again you just got to weight up what you value more. i mean as a global business with manufacturing in many different countries, i reckon LUSH would have to abide by many different laws regarding product hygiene. but just to point out, machines that squirt product into plastic packaging could likely carry just as much if not more bacteria depending on how they're cleaned than a person using kitchen utensils to pack product into these containers and set it in moulds. and if you're worried about store bought product being touched, there is always online purchasing direct from their "kitchens". anyway hope this helps to clear some of your doubt as I have been using LUSH for years and love their products to bits and would recommend them to anyone :) (so maybe I am bit biased too) haha
Kiara Newman hey thats true, thankyou :)
@@kiaranewman7042 i worry about keeping it hygenic at home, like if i keep it in a container, recleaning the container
Also I would note I haven’t used the makeup products but I am saving up to get them cause I think they look awesome 😊.
amaze!! love the video!! could you do another testing primark makeuo coz i think they have a lot of new makeup so could you test it♥️♥️♥️♥️
thank you!! ooh yes I’ll have a look x
ur so pretty!
I just love your attitude, Soph! Great review!
I think the end result is pretty decent, love that lip shade! X
Ok did we not notice that you kept saying "recycLABLE" I couldn't stop laughing. Don't ever change. 😂💖
also i work at lush, if you want a face wash that lathers and is naked the bars such as coalface, fresh farmacy and movis are great :)
Xoxo
P.S. products like face cleansers, shampoos etc which are usually foaming a lot, aren’t foaming so much at lush. Their products still work perfectly fine, but in the beginning you will eventually feel like there is no or too little product on your skin, hair, etc. at lush we always say a little goes a long way, so don’t be worried. 😁
Yes! Love this video. Very helpful and I love lush. Never used any of their makeup products though so it was great to see what you thought!
Yay! Thanks for making this video I’m definitely going to try the concealer 😊 please try more waste free brands 😍
Soph apparenlty for tan to stick to your neck it helps to use a big fluffy makeup brush kinda like the big powder puff brushes primark sell to apply it. Xx
What a coincidence, I just bought both your eyeshadow palettes as well as your highlighter palette last night from beauty bay... so keen to try them
4:34 When you walk past a lush store you walk past a heaven of scents 😂
Hey Sophie! You should try to wet the cleansing bar and use it like it were hand soap, I have used bar cleansers for years and that's how I do it, they foam up nicely :)
I’m not first
I’m not last
But when I see soph
I click damn fast
Seren Jenkins 👏🏼👏🏼💐💐
haha aw thank you!!
The person in lush told me those solid oil cleansers are to be applied, left on for a minute to catch all the grime in your pores, then wiped away gently with a cotton pad or face cloth x
Absolutely love your videos x you are so inspirational and always help me find the best products x
aw thank you!! x
Her eyes are so beautiful oh my gosh I love you soph ❤️ keep doing what your doing your amazing !
Is no one gonna talk about the way she says aluminum. It’s so cute!!!! Ily soph!
to get tan to stick to your neck try using a makeup brush instead of a mit it works well for me so it'll probably work for you xx
definitely try their magical moringa for primer it’s great!!!
I went to a lush store once and went home in a bus. Pretty sure the bus was fragrant for 2 days.

We Stan an inclusive queen
That's pretty impressive
Hey soph! Could you please do a video where you use eco friendly makeup and/or reach out to make up brands to ask if the ingredients in their products (e.g. palm oil etc) are sustainably sourced? I try to be as eco friendly as possible and would really love to see a video like this! Thanks🙂
Where is your favourite place to be when you are sad #qotd
