- A new WNBA docuseries follows four rookies around the league. This does not include Caitlin Clark. Let's talk about it!
The WNBA is trying so hard to suggest that CC isn’t the reason for the unprecedented growth. I understand the importance to shed light on many players, but it comes across as disrespectful and dismissive to CCs fans.
Exactly. They are doing everything wrong if they want to actually grow the game. You don't do it by destroying the reason for all the new fans. It's weird.
Caitlin's fame, and all things attached, are daggers into the pride of so many players - along with coaches and WNBA executives - that they want to "protect" the players, and to some extent, the previous fans. Minimum 75% of Caitlin fans will watch and attend no matter what, and will never watch again whenever she leaves....and the commissioner now knows that. She is actually smarter than she seems. Reality, this new popularity is temporary, and they have to have something left when it is over.
@@Oneanddone14 the WNBA had no fans previously. There is nothing to protect save for their own precious 'spots' and this league has spent the last decade trashing the very fans that would have allowed the league to be profitable. So you saying they want to 'protect' their old fans is a strawman. This is a far more pronounced rerun of Candice Wiggins and Skylar Diggins.

Reese is the most overrated, over-hyped player in the WNBA! She's an awkward lumbering truck when she plays, she has zero finesse, she can only make easy layups and many of her rebounds come from her own missed shots! She's just getting the attention that she's getting because she's riding on the coattails of being connected to Caitlin Clark! If it weren't for Clark, Reese would disappear in obscurity and anonymity!
reese was a passenger at LSU, a face in the crowd on a superteam who's mouth got her fame. If she wasn't an angry activist lesbian of color, nobody would be talking about her.
Remember she has a national championship against CC! She was dominant in college and she's dominating now! This is the same champion Angel Reese doing the same as she did in college. She is going to win a wnba championship before CC. Caitlin will always be in AR's shadow until she wins a championship! If she is as great as people think she is then she needs to win point blank. She's had two opportunities to win a natty and failed both times. Sometimes you're not destined for greatness!

If I had to guess, I'd say CC22 said she didn't want to be involved. She's just done *Full Court Press* and she knew she was going to have the hardest time in her first weeks as a rookie, far harder than any of the other rookies, and I suspect she just didn't want more TV cameras following her around for yet another 3 months.

Yeah, they are. Should have definitely included Reese. Did you see her game against Seattle? A top-tier team? 27 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks. Guarding the Seattle all-star post players of course. She can play defense. She also was 2 for 2 from 3-point range and hit a 16-footer for good measure--you know, that midrange shot that CC doesn't have. Reese was a guard in high school and was known for making 3's. Well she's working on bringing that back. It's scary how good she is about to become.

Clark has nothing to prove to this Jr High league (probably the most immature league in all of sports). She will hit the gym this off season. The hype isn't nothing compared to next year. 50 point game? 20 assists? If she bulks up and keeps her speed 20 RB's?

Anything to take attention away from the normally oriented girl. Anything at all. There is no mystery what's happening here. They want all the benefits of having her in the league without admitting she was the cause. It's shameful and blatantly obvious to anyone willing to tell the truth.
Veterans should be disappointed by this docuseries, they made that for the not so popular rookies rather doing it for them. Now that the people gave attention to the league they should made a docuseries of different veterans, Maya, Leslie, Tamicka (?) Sue, Diana etc then include a short clip of all the new rookies. It will be much better and people and Clark fans will watch it, now who will waste their money and time on that?

The W may want things to work a certain way, and C.C. may not fit the model or the program. Exempt from the discipline of the market, those who hold positions of influence in the W may be just as glad if C.C. were to leave and go on her way and to take her fans with her.
