Annie Lennox is probably the one human being alive that could step into the shoes of Freddie Mercury to do this song justice - not only in terms of talent and showmanship but in terms of character too. Three of some of the most talented artists and kindest and loving people to take the stage. RIP Freddie. Rip Bowie. And treasure Annie while we have her.
And I'm crying because I want Bowie back. He was a really good artist... What do we have nowadays? There are some good bands, but honestly, they don't give me the same feelings.

30 years later still an unforgettable performance - great duo Lennox & Bowie and the three remaining Queen members proved in this tribute tour how great musicians they were (and still are) together.
One thing I learned from being an old roadie for Queen in the 1970's is how you can see the speed of sound. When they played huge venues like Wembley, the area is so large, the people react to the sound as they hear it, so you can see the reaction as the sound goes out from wherever the speakers were. It's like a wave spreading out. Just one thing I never thought about until I observed it from backstage.
"You can do what you want with my music but don't make me boring" - They certainly didn't do that. You can see it was sung by two true artists with love for FM.
Raised on Bowie, a Queen fan as a teenager, and was introduced to Annie Lennox by my mother when she was in the band called " The Tourists". I have truly lived.
Annie always made me think of how subtle she is with her singing, because you always know the power of her voice. But in this one, she uses all of that power! And it reaches deep!. And David....well....damn!!!. What a pair of beautiful souls on that stage!!!
Really like how classy Bowie is at the end of this, asking the crowd to applaud Annie when he is at least equally responsible for the awesomeness they have just seen
Watching in April 2023, it reminds me of the massive loss to the world and to music both Freddie and David are. Hope they’re singing together, with the angels now. Can’t work out why it’s taken me so long to find this video 🤷🏻♀️ but huge thanks to the uploader. This is a gift to the world of RUclips.
when i saw this performance i said if you want to carry on with another singer there she is right there, she had the voice the flair and the flamboyance to pull it off and a power house of a song writer in her own right, but alas it didnt happen
Outstanding performance by Lennox and Bowie. They complement each other and raise each others performance to another level. The absolute positive regard and artistic respect they have for each other is abundantly evident.
Now?! All the time I’ve been around and I just see this now? My father was a Bowie fan. I’m betting he and Bowie are up there and decided to have me come across this performance. This was fantastic. What an experience.
Y'know, no one person could ever successfully stand in for Freddie Mercury in Queen, but after watching this, I am becoming convinced that these two artists, working together, it came awfully close. Brilliant.
Quel plaisir quel bonheur quelle émotion quelle tristesse Que d'émotions mêlées pour un instant magique entre 2 stars.. Des frissons.. Merci depuis la France. Rip dear david❤

Somewhere there is a video of them practicing together, with Queen. Maybe Bowie and Brian May were hesitant to think Annie could pull it off, but half way through you could see them decide that this song would work. Magnificent..
OMG those are the performances that will stay FOREVER in us!!! What a song! What a duo! What an audience! Everything is simply PERFECT! I miss gigs like this today!
Greatest ever❤🎉 But also David Bowie and Freddie Mercury. Words cannot discribe these memories. R.I.P. David and Freddie. ❤️ And long live Annie Lennox with us. ❤️
Fcuk, what an absolute brilliant live performance! Bowie's vocals blew me away. And in the company of Annie Lennox, that is saying something. And lest we forget the backbone of it all, the brilliant Queen.
Wow, Annie Lennox she matches DB and they both make this beautiful. Artists who don't need to compete, just make things fantastic doing their own thing. Annie, loving the bladerunner eyes...
It's 2022, and this still brings tears to my eyes. Part of the soundtrack of life, and of my funeral. It's all written on Spotify. Much love from San Francisco, CA.
I remember watching the live broadcast of this and being completely blown away! It gave me chills then, and it gives me chills now. Wow… Annie Lennox is amazing. So dramatic. And Bowie rises to a new level of cool. The entire performance is so emotional and intense.
I never thought anyone could outshine Bowie, but Annie does!! I mean, she came to slay in costume, voice, makeup all wrapped up in a vocal performance that was superb.
He told her to go get something different to wear because what they had for her was drab, and she went ot the person he recommended, and just knocked it out of the park, that is why he says "where did she get that dress". He was blown away, cool to hear Annie talk about it and how intimidated she was by basically a God, but she tells how nice he is, everyone says how nice Bowie is, this is so good, she and George Michael crushed this, and David is just A God. I know how much i love his work but it is fun to see how other famous people were just in awe lol, this is fucking David Bowie lol.
RIP David Bowie (1947-2016).

Well said.
Y love Annie Lennox❤️❤️❤️
except for the Papaya part

sorry to say there aren't any good bands today, won't listen to the radio it's absolutely fucking crap.
Idk how they are now but Muse used to be able to absolutely slay.
I am so sorry, i never saw him live 😢
My too😢.
St. Vincent reminds me of him a lot. Also, we do still have Annie Lennox. And David Byrne hits the same feels for me. YMMV
The crowd hitting the “day day dum” and “okay” at the right time was great
Easily one of the greatest live performances in history. RIP FM, DB
Fleetwood Mac?

Nope, not bad but not stand out on the day

Back in the days when celebrities were incredibly talented. Freddie Mercury, David Bowie, Annie Lennox. Irreplacable.
she loves him
And who doesn't?
The king and the queen.
Wonderful.
When the crowd sings BOTH parts in harmony. That, my friend is something regal. Long Live The Queen.
And Bowie
And seeing AL and DB recognize that was priceless. Nods to the cameramen and the editor.

Damn that woman can sing. The power behind her voice..
Annie Lennox KILLED this song like it was her own. Its a shame we never got an official collaboration between her and Bowie.
I worked with her backup singers. Annie is a class act and a great actress too.
