    Cool tip that i learned on taking it off. Treat it like a command strip, grab it by the bottom and pull straight down on it and the adhesive breaks down. I still did it in the shower though because I was still paranoid about it. 😂
    Another tip is to round the edges so it adhere's better and I also hear it gives you a better chance not to break out with any red irritation.

    Here are the cliff notes for anyone in a hurry
    1. After your tattoo has been done, and wrapped in either saniderm/tegaderm or cling film, there will be a wait time.
    - With the cling film, leave on for 1 hour at most and move to step 2.
    - For those given saniderm/tegaderm, leave it on for 24 hours and move onto step 2.
    2. Clean hands thoroughly. Unwrap bandage and clean tattoo with an unscented, anti microbial soap a few times. Rinse well. Pat dry with paper towel. Air dry for a few seconds.
    - For saniderm/tegaderm users, remove with water to make it easy and reduce pulling
    3. Apply new saniderm/tegaderm bandage to dry skin from the center and smooth edges leaving enough bandage on the outer edges for removal. Keep it out of the sun and away from direct water contact or chlorine.
    4. Leave this on for 24 hours. Repeat steps 2 and 3 after the 24 hour wait period. And leave the newly applied /tegaderm for 48 hours.
    5. After the 48 hour wait period, repeat steps 2 and 3, and leave on the newly applied saniderm/tegaderm for 72 hours. The total process should be 7-8 days.
    6. On the final day, remove your saniderm/tegaderm under lukewarm water like usual. Always be gentle even though the tattoo is fully healed. Clean the tattoo like in step 2, pat dry and apply a dab of unscented lotion (aquaphor healing ointment). Allow to dry heal.
    7. Enjoy your tattoo! Wear sunscreen and moisturize.

    My understanding was, that plasma helps healing with saniderm on.

    • @MabuyoshiSenjutsu
      @MabuyoshiSenjutsu 3 года назад +7

      True, and PLASMA's healing efficiency is at it's highest within the 24hr mark when the wound is fresh, longer than that the plasma breakdown and that's where you will get some funky smell.
      That's why Saniderm Medical advices to leave the first wrap ONLY for 24hrs so that you can trap that plasma in the traumatized and tattooed area to trap that healing power.

    I have a full day session scheduled next Tuesday. I just ordered my role of saniderm a couple days ago. This will be the first time I'm using it to heal tattoos. But I found your video because I wanted to just see a little more information about how it's used. I'm so stoked to finally be getting a tattoo that's going to be protected and covered while healing! I have pets and in the past no matter how much I tried to keep my tattoos off of my bedding, I always had a hard time healing just from pet dander and things I'm sure getting into it. No matter how diligent I was with washing and fragrance-free lotion. I also ordered the Sanibalm. I wanted to try there formula of healing balm. Wish me luck!
    I've also not healed well with my past tattoos. I remember distinctly standing in the shower and watching an entire cherry slide down my arm and go down the drain. Meaning that whole cherry had scabbed up peeled off took the color with it. Now I have scars there. It's ridiculous how you spend so much money on tattoos and some people might heal really well without help but I definitely don't. Can't wait to use the Saniderm.
    Great video by the way!

    • @SheCrafty

      I would definitely not go off that. The first application should not be left on for more then 24hrs. It even says that on Saniderms website. one tip I learned, for a large tattoo on the arm (9 or so inches long) cut 2 sections of saniderm for the top and bottom. It helps reduce wrinkles and bubbles since your arm is a different width on top and bottom. Question: has anyone tried using aquaphore to remove saniderm? petroleum based products are suppose to break down the adhesive. theres a trick we do with our kids to remove bandaids by rubbing vaseline on top of it until it slides off. curious if something like this would work for saniderm because it can pull like crazy on your soft undersides

    @lucadelph4814 2 года назад +2

    Hi! I just got my first tattoo yesterday and the artist told me to leave the same saniderm for 7 days straight. It seems long...do you know if it's ok to leave the tattoo 7 days with the ink/blood bubble? Thank you so much!!

    • @SheCrafty
      @SheCrafty  2 года назад +1

      No it is not good that way. You should always change it after the first 24hrs per Saniderms website. If no plasma leaks after the second change, you can leave that one on for 5 days. If plasma is present then change it again after another 24hrs.
      Here is what their website says ….
      “ you should leave the first Saniderm bandage on for 24 hours. Allowing the bodily fluid to remain on the tattoo will help the skin retain moisture and aid in tattoo healing. This is all thanks to plasma, which carries important nutrients, hormones, and proteins to the wound site. However, plasma is only viable for 24 hours, so remove the first bandage at the 24-hour mark and apply a new piece of Saniderm. Don’t forget to clean the tattoo with a mild, glycerin-free cleanser. Avoid applying moisturizer around the edges of the tattoo, as it may affect the adhesion of the bandage.
      If your second or third Saniderm bandage is filled with blood, the same rule as above applies. Leave it on and remove it after 24 hours. Tattoos typically stop weeping after 2-3 days, but you can continue using Saniderm to equal a total of 7 days, between all bandage applications. “
      Hope this helps you 👍🏻

    • @SheCrafty
      @SheCrafty  3 года назад +1

      If you are going to use Saniderm then you do not put anything on it at all. Once you take the first one off, clean it really well with antibacterial soap (I use the gold Dial) rinse it to get all soap off and then dry it completely before putting Saniderm on.

    The irritation is a bit more than she says I don't have any allergies or anything but using it on my back on a large tattoo it did cause some irritation and due to my own mistake the second time re applying I didn't use lotion and it was pretty painful but the worst part was it taking some of the ink off with it. For small tattoos and easy to reach areas it's pretty good but it's kind of based on the tattoo

    • @SheCrafty
      @SheCrafty  3 года назад

      I have had my whole arm wrapped at one point and I only got the red irritation on the skin near my armpit. Also, you do not use lotion or anything else when using Saniderm… it must be clean and dry when you apply.

      It sort of feels like when you have very bad sunburn and catch it quite hard on a door or someone scratches it by accident with their nails but for a big tattoo your looking at anywhere between 1 hour and 100 hours depending on the size and the detail so make sure you start off with a small one if your going to!

    Can I put saniderm a few days after my tattoo? I recently found out about this but the saniderm won’t get here until about 4 days after I got the tattoo done

    • @SheCrafty
      @SheCrafty  4 года назад

      I’m sure it will be ok but may not have the full effect since the Saniderm heals it in 5-7 days but I would put it on for the rest of the healing process if you already have it, if you need to order it and wait a few more days to get it then I would keep doing what your doing now and maybe get it before getting another tattoo

    @emioli8990 3 года назад

    Wth lol am I the only one that was completely lost when you were explaining how many you actually use ?! Is it 2 or 3? You said first was for 24 hrs, second was for 48-72 hrs and last one for 5 days...then you said second one you leave on for 5 day's 😅 ??

    • @SheCrafty
      @SheCrafty  3 года назад

      It’s very simply, as explained you change the 1st one after 24hrs and then if within the next 24-48 hrs a lot of Plasma is released then change it one more time and then the 3rd stays on for 5 days .. BUT, if no Plasma is released then leave the 2nd one on for 5 days.
      It is all based on the person & the size of the tattoo if there will need a 3rd change or if 2 will be enough.
