I'm making the effort to cook for my dog to improve his health. I figure the better the quality the heathier the dog and the less I pay for Vet bills in the long run! I learned this the hard way years ago when I had a batch of Six stray cats I was feeding and 5 died of cancer and 1 of renal disease from the cheap kibble I was buying back when I was young and poor. Ranging from ages 8 to 11 they came down with dread disease and died. Considering they were living indoors with my ex who was a smoker they needed a LOT better diet than what we thought we could provide with my ex home injured/depressed unable to work but not getting disability until years later. Spending more on a quality diet for our animal family members saves lives and quality of life for them. It's worth it from my perpective.

You pretty much covered everything. I would occasionally add some oysters, turmeric, erbs like parsley, cilantro, and switch up the organ meat occasionally if possible.
No, you need a mix of hormone secreting organs at all times never just liver , and heart doesn’t count it isn’t hormone secreting. Dogs need liver but it is extremely rich in nutrients and will specifically cause vitamin A toxicity if fed as the only organ. Secondly there is no bone or nearly enough calcium for a dog in this recipe. Third , dogs shouldnt have their food cooked, they’re meant to eat it raw, humans are the only living things meant to eat and digest cooked food. Better than kibble though props on that , any real food is far superior.

Not true. My great grandfathers village dog eats scraps, bones, everything you can think of and he is still alive. All these supplements and powders are 💩. My great grandfathers dog eats all kinds of food but the food is natural, no hormones, No b.s that they add to food in America.

Yes! This is wonderful! I sometimes give my dog a tiny bit of plain kefir, and some nutritional yeast and a pump of fish oil in his food once everyday. He loves kefir and fish oil!
I love your ingredients just perfection. I’ve been lacking in the amount of salmon such that I should be giving my pups and I started paying attention more to that so I love that you threw that in the mix. I love that you keep the carbohydrates almost closed to none given that kibble from the store is almost all carbohydrates, I mix a bit of dry food through the day a half-and-half pretty much because I’m not able to make the food all the time so I love what you’re doing and I use the crockpot too
We cooked beef liver for our dog mixed with her other home cooked food and she HATED the beef liver. I had to add bits of it to little dapples of yogurt and freeze them to make supplemental treats.

Isn’t that the same kind of stuff you’d feed raw though? So why cook it? I’m honestly wondering, because i feed raw, and sometimes cooked homemade food to my dog also, But I’m wondering which one is better for him and which one he likes more. My dog likes raw food but I think he loves cooked food like this also. Ty
Please make sure you're checking your dog's renal function (kidneys) If not every 6 months come a yearly because the higher the protein amount, the higher the phosphorus and that's a lot of work for the kidneys.

My mom useally just stews any leftovers we have arround and has me or my siblings dump it in a tray our dogs eat out of or she does it to the more entrails and other less apetising meat bits we feed them actual dog food too but them beasts are to energetic we gotta feed em 😅
Why feed a dog veggies though? Its a carnivore. Could, in high doses, be bad for him. But props for feeding some real meat. Just make sure he gets reasonable fat in his diet.
I cook for my dogs 2 - 3 * a week and I make enough to last and I make food that I like so we can all eat together there's no reason I should make stew for me and stew for them so it's got to be delicious because I eat it as well. That looks terrible
