Lyrics from Psalm 42:1
"Sicut cervus desiderat ad fontes aquarum, ita desiderat anima mea ad te, Deus."
Literal translation: "Like as the hart desireth the water-brooks so longeth my soul after thee, O God."
If you've seen any of my other videos, you'll know that this is unlike anything I've done so far. Because of the constant movement throughout the piece and the unique phraseology, I decided to record 4 tracks for each of the 4 parts, a total of 16 tracks. Combined with the task of compiling four times the usual amount of video, it was a challenge! But, I've been excited to share this with you, and I hope you'll find the effort to have been worth it.

I've sung this in choirs and listened to many choirs do this. This is one of the top performances when compared to multi-voice and the only one which sounds like a full choir with only one voice. Absolutely amazing.

@@Acapeldridge I love madrigals! Very nice my brother. I'm so glad God gave us our wonderful instruments. This also reminds me of one of our high school choirs. My faves at Christmas time was,"the wassail song, and lo how a rose er blooming". We'd like the balcony's edge, and in our auditorium with the light down, we'd begin lo... And the audience couldn't tell where the angelic sound was coming from. Chill inducing. I loved it!
Not to mention me being raised in the Church of Christ. Acapella, of course. The bigger the congregation, the bigger the goose bumps lol.

Incredible. I am an architect who serves our God and I often find strong similarities in music and architectural ethos and form. This is the most beautiful cathedral I have ever imagined. Each part adding its own movement and detailing to the composition. Absolutely incredible work, I am sure it took an enormous amount.
