    Pull the Bardstown into another round against Larceny, Green River, Bernheim, and Old Elk!

      I was just gonna say, do a round robin tourney, maybe top two move on out of every 6 way wheaters.

      Throw Willett Pot Still Reserve in there too, it’s been a wheated bourbon for a few years now so it’s no longer super terror bad.

    Great video! Can't wait to try some Bardstown, just wish i could get them where I live. Not surprised SR and Makers were last in that line up but I was surprised Rebel ranked that high. Guess I need to pick one up 🥃🥃

    Blinds are fun, Lol! I also did a blind on some BiB bottles a while back & bardstown origins green won the top stop. WSR for me is just trash, thin & ethanol forward. That rebel 100 is something else. I tried the rebel 80 & liked it so I might have to get a bottle of that 100.

    I've only had the Weller and the Maker's mark. I'm glad I didnt pay more than MSRP for my Weller SR, its pretty boring IMO. not worth the hype. Great Blind. I'm gonna hunt down that Rebel 100.

    Rebel 100 has become my favorite $20 bourbon. Some wheaters to me come off as too grassy or earthy like Larceny.

    No Bardstown in Oregon that I've at least not seen. I pretty much refuse to buy in Washington.

    I've been getting into wheated for the last 2 years. I love the Bardstown BIB I have Makers and Rebel. I prefer the Makers to the Rebel. I'd be hard pressed to pick between the Bardstown and Larceny. Larceny got me into the wheat category.
    Would you do a video on 4 grain whiskey.

    Use black glencarins. Also, do a double blind. Have someone pick the bottles for the blind for you. That way it’s a true sensory judgement.

    • @whiskeybonded
      @whiskeybonded  7 месяцев назад

      Agreed, but I would have know this Garrison Brothers out of any wheater I have.

    I regularly buy the Rebel 100. For $16 it is hard to beat. Our pallets are pretty close as I also find the Bardstown as delicious. Really good blind.IMHO

    maybe i have an off bottle of garrison brothers but mine taste very young and grain forward. taste and smells like wheat bread to the point where its not very enjoyable. The only other wheated bottle i own to compare it to is the weller 12 year and theres no comparison there.

    • @whiskeybonded
      @whiskeybonded  6 месяцев назад

      That's definitely not a fair comparison!

    You turned me on to Rebel 100 and it's now a staple of mine! $21.99 here in Northern Virginia, best bang for your buck around here.

    I love the blinds. I've had conceptions after tasting something many times not blind. Then in semi blind it falls flat. Is that reality, skewed by the others. Or the day of the week. What you had for lunch skew. It's very helpful especially when you've had some of these you are tasting. Cheers

    Great video man! My money was on bardstown. Glad to see SR scoring low, I got a bottle for $35 because of the weller hype and have been super unimpressed. I wouldn’t ever get another, so many better for less. Keep it up 👍🏻

    That Bardstown Origins BIB is a great bottle…. The Weller Reserve is my next favorite and for its price now at $45 for a big bottle it’s a great one to have on hand. Garrison Bros BIB is just funky and not a fan.. Still haven’t tried Rebel 100 🤦🏻

      Honestly $80+ is cost prohibitive. 1792 at $25 best damned deal I know of especially for a night of whiskey drinking or sharing. My bottle of Hibiki was gone in 3 nights, but at $80 I’m hesitant to replace.

    I've done blinds myself on that Rebel and it's always done surprisingly well! Started out with a 750 and ended up scoring a handle for like $27 at ABC. Best wheater value out there!

    Great video. I did a Budget Bonded bottle blind (8 bottles) and Rebel 100 took second for me. So I'm not terribly surprised the Rebel 100 did well in your blind. I am shocked to see it beat out the 1792 Sweet Wheat though.

    Great blind! I prefer Maker's 46 over the regular everyday, and I would have thrown Larceny in there. After I do a comparison, I usually mix them together, and most of the time, it's great! Cheers Conrad 🥃

    Maybe go with the MM 101 to get most around the same proof point next time. I even like the 101 over their cask strength but like the 46 cask better than the 101 but only a little bit more. And the Bardstown is just a great line I love their origins series. Great job. Enjoy!!
