- Redwood Empire Whiskey Is one of my favorites. With the new Small Lot Series, there are 10 offerings in the lineup on shelfs now. Well, which one is the best? I can tell you my opinion, OR I can just do it blind!
*I didn't include Haystack Needle. There are too many varieties and they're too hard to find!!

Not surprised that the ryes are in the top 5, they most definitely slay. Great job with the video! No doubt tomorrow would yield different results... it's crazy how hydration, prior meals, your mood, etc. can impact the taste of whiskey on a given day. This was definitely fun to watch. Solid work sir!
It was fun to do, but you nailed it on the variables. It's hard to place too much weight on these types of big tastings, but they're always interesting. It's definitely not the order I would have guessed.

Man, now I REALLY regret grabbing the Pipe Dream CS for Christmas over the Emerald Giant CS. GREAT video!
Blinds are really fun, but they're not absolute gospel. The problem with doing so many whiskeys is your palate gets blown out pretty quickly, especially when you have cask strengths & barrel proofs. The one you drink before will influence the next, and subsequently those down the line. Though, they're a very fun experiment that can have really surprising results, but don't think these results are an absolute indicator of better/favoritism. Some seem to think so like it's completely objective, but it can't be if your palate is influenced by what you had before. There's also something to sitting with a single bottle and enjoying its nuances on its own when assessing it.

I wish I could find all of those in my area. So far really just the standard offerings. I love Lost Monarch and is one of my regular go tos. I hope I can come across a LM CS one of these days soon!

The on RE product I've had I don't really enjoy is their basic Pipe Dream. love the CS pipe dream though. I'd be interested to do this same comparison, if I can get the Foggy Burl.
I do love and enjoy Redwood Empire. Pipe Dream and Lost Monarch are my favorites in their lineup. I want to get the Foggy Burl, Emerald Giant and Grizzly Beast

Sounds like I need to try the Emerald Giant again and also grab the Cask Strength. I remember it being a very rye forward rye and I have not had the Cask strength yet. I really love the Lost Monarch Cask Strength for special occasions or when I want High proof.
Yeah emerald Giant CS is incredible. It also has this good Forresty note that literally reminds me of the Redwood forest. It's more complex though and that note only lasts a small second. Probably my 3rd favorite rye overall

Emerald Giant CS is no suprise #1 It is a beast, incredible it only carries a 4yr age statement. The only Rye I have that beats it is 2020 T.H.Handy sooo...

Emerald Giant Cask Strength is always a 10/10. It's just so unique. Also love the longer vids! I know you have to compete against YT's absurd algorithm but this was nice.

Awesome to see this lineup and strangely I had Emerald Giant CS in a black manhattan tonight. I have the entire lineup as well (fan boy) so I’ll have to try the same tasting. A little birdy told me their limited release Wheated called Screaming Titan may be on the way so you can add that to the round 2.
It's bottling next month and due in late Feb or early March. That's straight from the source! I can't wait.
Don't really watch your videos, but I have all of those except for the devils tower and foggy burl. And honestly, your list is pretty spot on.

Very cool blind! I'm not a big rye fan, but I really love the Pipe Dream and even enjoy the Lost Monarch. I would love to find a cask strength Pipe Dream or even a Grizzly Beast. I've never done a blind with more than 5 (and I prefer 4), I can't imagine trying to blind 10 different whiskies at once. Well done, very fun video.

Too many good choices! 😂 Big fan of Emerald Giant and Pipedream CS. These are readily available in the DFW are just not a fan of their $80-100 price.
Would love to see a blind of their CS’s, their bonded, LE’s and reg line. Then maybe a best of. Your taste buds are confusing your brain! 😜😂😂

Appreciate you trying to be a bit more objective about your taste this time, would totally watch another one where you are favoring your own subjective taste. Many factors go into how someone feels or experiences a bottle and it’s not always going to taste the same!
Just found a Grizzly Beast batch 3. First time ever finding Grizzly Beast. Can't wait to try it once I finish a bottle and make room for it lol.

The only bottle of Redwood Empire we can find in Ontario, Canada is the Emerald Giant and it is great but expensive! Was almost $85CDN, went on clearance for $64 CDN so I grabbed a couple. Such a nice, everyday drinking rye.
can get the regular EG for $26us, which makes it a heck of a bargain and the best Rye for the price out there.

I have a Haystack and it's so good, but too hard to find and they vary to much to put in here. It would likely win though. Maybe. 🤔🥃

Incredibly Hard to rank 10 bottle in this format. Im surprised the Ryes took the a Top 3, but still not a Rye Guy.
Very hard!! I would say I'm still picky about rye, but this is starting to make me question my preferences and what I reach for most often. 👍🥃

How much is worth a pay for the Batch 1 single malt? Saw a local store have it for 99.99 (111 after tax)
