I’m new to bourbon and I usually avoid high proof bourbons , but oddly enough my 2 favorites are Wild Turkey 101 and Knob Creek 9, I also love Makers 46 , 1792 and Russell’s 10 year.

Great video! I love the idea of people talking about what bottles they’ve drank the most over their bourbon journey. I’ve been drinking whiskey for 15ish years or so… but didn’t start actually diving into bourbon and whiskey until 2018 when I started appreciating the neat pour as a sipper (before that, usually it was mixed drinks or occasionally on the rocks).
Since 2018, I started keeping track of every bottle I’ve bought, and here are the bourbons I bought from highest down (I stopped at having purchased 4 bottles of the brand):
    11 bottles :: Rare Breed
10 bottles :: Knob Creek small batch (NAS or 9yr)
7 bottles :: Buffalo Trace, Elijah Craig BPs, & Makers Mark
6 bottles :: Eagle Rare, Henry McKenna BIB, & KC 9 Yr SiB
5 bottles :: Four Roses SiB and Woodford Double Oaked
4 bottles :: 1792 small batch, Elijah Craig small batch, Larceny, Makers Mark CS, Michter’s small batch, and WT101

Thanks for reviewing the “everyday” sippy-sips. I now have another rye to try. Really appreciate bringing some Scotch to the discussion. After 4 years overseas, my scotch/Irish collection grew nicely and I somehow lost track of the good-good while I chased bourbons.

Thanks Kurt & Trenton for your channel! Great way to learn of many different bourbons that I haven't tried or even seen before! I don't have a large stock myself so I only have a top 3 which I find myself restocking and drinking regularly which are readily available in Pennsylvania.
    1) WR Double Oaked
    2) OF 1920
    3) Four Roses SB Select

Late to the comments here but first have to say to Kurt and Trenton that their videos are well thought out, well presented and digestible - never over our heads or long-winded. These guys bourbon! Your palates are amazingly similar to mine - so I am absolutely a subscriber. As for my go-to bourbons right now: WR Double-Oaked, WT Rare Breed, Four Roses Single Barrel, and Knob Creek 9. Unfortunately, here in Canada, we don't see most of the rest of your selections on the shelves very often (or at all). Still, your vids are great for my next shopping excursion to the US. Keep it up guys!

With cooler weather - love ryes-

I really enjoyed that - thanks guys.
Being from Australia, there's a couple of local bottles in my current top 5:
The Gospel Straight Rye Whiskey (90 proof)
Adam's Peated Shiraz Cask Single Malt (93 proof)
They slot in next to Dalwhinnie 15yo Single Malt, which is an amazing pour for the price.
Next is the Woodford Double Oaked, which I tried after your double oaked review. I'm really enjoying it.
And rounding it out is WT Rare Breed, for all the reasons you mentioned. Special mention to Knob Creek 9yo, but here in Aus, the Rare Breed is only the equivalent of US$10 more than the KC9, so it's the bird for me.

My top 5 today as someone inside my first 90 day introduction to bourbon/whiskey/scotch....1) Wild Turkey 101 (it's just the proof/mouth feel for the money is really incredible - I feel like I should do something to make this an allocated bourbon, lol) 2) Highland Park Cask Strength (butterscotch is actually a note for scotch...hell yes!) three and four are toss ups...3) Four Roses Small Batch 4) Elijah Craig Barrel Proof (dusty peanut goodness) 5) Michters Rye (starting to appreciate Rye - didn't like rye in moonshine, but in whiskey its really good) Great channel guys, super helpful as I decide what to add to the collection and as a former Hoosier transplanted in FL. I value the feel of 'home' felt thinking you bring me.

Top 5 for me this year:
Bulleit (I swap between regular, 10 year, and SiB)
    Michter’s Small Batch
    Elijah Craig BP
    Four Roses Small Batch
    Yellowstone
I’ve made Old Fashions with these throughout the year, particularly during Old Fashioned Week, and have enjoyed them tremendously. This has been my first year collecting bourbons and scotches (would grab maybe 1-2 bottles a year over the past 4 years otherwise) and my collection is now at a modest 30 bottles, majority of that being bourbon.

My wife and I just started our home bar less than two weeks ago. I got the bug after watching some videos and then started talking to my wife and she had a desire to try some so I researched the beans out of really good starter bourbons, ryes, and Irish whiskey. This is what we are starting with, Sazerac rye, Powers 3 swallow Irish whiskey, Basil and Hayden, Angels envy, Elijah Craig small batch, Wild Turkey 101 bourbon, buffalo trace, and Woodford reserve double oaked as well as a couple flavored whiskies and bourbons. I just bought the Woodford, Buffalo trace, and Basil Hayden today and we have not even tried them yet. If my research was any good that should be a solid starter for our bar and next month I want to get Four Roses small batch select and 1792. Thanks for your cool channel and suggestions.

I've only started drinking my whiskey "neat" within the last year or so, before that it was always over ice. Anyway, my classic "Go-To" bourbons, in no particular order, would be Woodford Reserve, Four Roses (Yellow), Bulleit, and Jim Beam Black. Recently, I've developed a new appreciation for Maker's Mark and Wild Turkey 101. But the one that I find myself reaching for lately, and I only tried it because I saw it in one of your videos, is Evan Williams 1783. It tastes great and is easy on the wallet. That Hard Truth Sweet Mash Rye is my ultimate whiskey, hands down. Each batch has been different (as they are). My absolute favorite is Batch 4 (they have 5 out now). Note, the sweet mash process does allow whiskeys to mature more quickly. The latest stuff is older, as well. So, all 7 of the batches that they currently have planned were fermented and barreled at the same time. So, each batch is matured a bit more than the last.
As far as what I have :)... I have two bottles of Batch 1, three bottles of Batch 2, three bottles of Batch 3, six bottles of batch 4, and three bottles of Batch 5. I am keeping two bottles back of each back for "safe keeping". So, if I hav more than two, those are for drinking. They came out with their origin series earlier this month and then just this past week came out with three new ryes that are new mash bills in extremely small batches. They have a Caramel Malt, a Chocolate Malt, and a Malted Rye. They are all between 8-10 barrels for each batch.
In terms of Sagamore, I only recently picked up my first bottle of their standard "Rye" and I think it is pretty darned good. I have always been reluctant to buy their stuff because it is in the higher tier price range (not the stratosphere price range, but still about the range that I start getting picky). I got it on sale for $10 off of MSRP. I really and interested to try some of their other stuff now, including their Sherry Rye. Sounds awesome.
My top 5... super tough. I actually am not a big fan of bourbon. I love Rye and Scotch. But I have spent the 2nd half of this year exploring bourbons. I don't think I want to put things in order, but:
    * Hard Truth Sweet Mash Rye (Batch 4)
    * Old Forester 1920 (my absolute favorite bourbon)
    * Wild Turkey 101 (Rye and Bourbon... I like to mix them into a Bourye)
    * Aberfedly (my favorite Scotch)
    * Hard Truth Kentucky Sweet Mash Rye (same mash bill as the standard stuff... but this was their "test run" and it was made at another distillery... it has a Dill finish which sounds off, but it works).

I have and enjoy all of the first 5 bottles ya'll pulled out, especially the rare breed and frey ranch. My regulars that I go thru more bottles of than anything else, are old forester rye and wt101.

GREAT PICKS, The Sagamore sherry cask is spectacular, just met with a rep from there last weekend and tried all of them.....I ended up choosing the barrel pick she had tho which was outstanding....The Four Roses select is beautiful and its always on the shelf...rare breed, muah, double oak outstanding.....Ive personally been reaching for the Sagamore Single pick I have, Larceny Proof B521, New Riff Single Barrel Proof (might be my fav on the list), and I really enjoyed (past tense lol) the Blue Run Reflection although was a bit pricey for the quality of juice....Cheers.

Really enjoy the channel, guys. I also like sipping whiskey with my son. Good times. My top 5 favorites today are: 1) Teeling Single Grain Irish Whiskey, 2) Westland American Single Malt, 3) Angel's Envy Bourbon, 4) Eagle Rare 10yr Bourbon, and 5) Bad Dog Grandpa's Wheat Whiskey. My everyday, though, is probably Slane Irish Whiskey which reminds me of Redbreast 12 (I think it's the Sherry Casks), but at $27 vs $70 a bottle, is a much more affordable, everyday sip for me. Keep up the great content! :)

I cant understand how you are reminded of RB 12 from Slane. Taste completely different to me. I like the flavor of Slane, but find it to be a bit to ethanol-y. Absolutely hated everything about RB 12.

Great stuff. Can’t go wrong with Arran 10 or Glenallachie 12. I’ve been reaching for Glen Scotia 15 a lot lately. 100% on Rare Breed, a staple. Would be interesting to see you blind the Sherry Sagamore Rye with the New Riff Malted Rye Sherry finish

New bourbon drinker here and have found your videos INCREDIBLY insightful and helpful. I splurged and got an Elijah Craig Barrel Proof and it was like drinking a dry erase marker…gross. I seem to lean more towards lower proofs to really enjoy the flavors either straight up or mixed in with some Cherry Dr Pepper. The few that I’ve tried and really enjoyed so far are Makers Mark Limited, Woodford Reserve Double Oaked, Bullet. Michters is high on my list but I can’t find it here in Northern Colorado. Anyways, you guys have given me a nice list to hunt down and I really appreciate the information and the quality of your videos. Cheers!

Thanks for your kind words! Nice list! Keep doing what you like but just a tip. Let the ECBP open up for a while before you try it again. The higher proofs tend to need some air before it opens up.

Just started watching your channel. Rare Breed is my top choice too. I looked at your other posts. Found the one on dirty martinis Gin/Vodka
    Oxley Gin!
I couldn't belive it a bottle of Oxley Gin! I thought I was the only person that drank Oxley. No one had even seen it in my golf club. They don't stock it nor do they have Rare Breed. Oh well...
Costco (In Concord,CA) had it on sale at the beginning of the year. Bought a few bottles.
I keep my open bottle in the refrigerator. It keeps longer if you do...
Great show. Looking forward to watching more.

Save for Frey Ranch (not in our area) and Arran (Have yet to try it) all those are great pours! My go-tos lately have been Bardstown BC Chateau De Lebaud, Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit, Heaven Hill BIB, Sagamore Mead Finish, and Benchmark Bonded. Love the list! Will have to try that Arran Scotch. Btw I think it's been too long since Kurt went over a line up of either scotch, irish whiskey, tequila or other spirit. Would love to see what new discoveries he's made.

There's also a lot above these price ranges I love but try to stay in reality. High West and Bruichladdich getting honorable mentions also.
