Thank you very much for the beautiful pattern. I just made my first shoe tonight and I love it. It fits really well and it is nice and warm.
I only added one small modification: The shoes fit even better if I put the stitches of the shortest row of the heel and toe of the inner layer on the needles of the outer layer, when knitting the outward part. So everything is kept in place even better!

Wow. This looks like a real winner. Who makes HuggaFur yarn? And the Bernat one? Are they linked on your website?
Even when I love a yarn, it doesn't do me much good to specify it, as they are constantly changing the yarn lines. You can still find Hygge Fur (don't buy regular Hygge, too thick). However, you can use other Group 4 yarns that you like or have (just get gauge). I Love This Yarn (which has no many colors, Hobby Lobby) and all the other superwash wool or acrylic Group 4s work well for the outside. Avoid anything delicate like Simply Soft - you want easy-care and sturdy that will be walked on and go through the wash. Group 4 thickness chenilles, skinny furs, and even soft brushed yarns in gauge are good for the inside. They aren't bad in plain yarns for the liner as long as it is soft to the touch, but wow, the soft fur or soft chenille is luxurious.
Hi Diana. When you say to loosen tension for the later slipper 2 numbers. Is that whole number? So if I am on 3 I go to 5, or 2 clicks

Hi Diana. I purchased this pattern and have been trying to make these slippers for an adult. The foot size is true to the pattern but the calf is too small. I made increases to the part above the ankle and that was fine, but the patterned part is too small to go over the instep/ankle. What am I doing wrong? The foot is 8 inches and I need the calf measurement to be12 inches. Can you advise anything.
You will definitely have to enlarge both teh ankle and calf. You may find that you also need to insert elastic somewhere in the ankle area (make a casing) to deal with the extra bulk you need to pull them on.
Why is this increasing different from the saw as you go sock ?
To make the patterns fit and match up properly.

I got away with a group 5 yarn, Hygge Fur, for the lining, but that is because it has a skinny core. Easiest thing is go with a group 4 for both inside and outside. You can find Group 4 in chenille. If you do try an eyelash fur, make sure the core is thin.
I love the fur lined look! Thank you so very much for this, I am working with my mothers passap knitting machine and want to make a welted leather sole for the bottom.
Do you have a pattern that I could knit to the bottom edge, then hand knit through the leather sole?
Do you think this pattern, which is exactly what I want to achieve, can be modified to accommodate a sole?
Lastly, do you think a real fur can be cut into a thin enough strip to knit with?

This pattern will not work well with a Passap. It is a sew-as-you-go pattern, and you'd have to bring the fabric up between the beds to hang the stitches. You could make it without the sew as you go, just as a weird shape and hand sew it all, but I wouldn't do that on the Passap. I'd do a different pattern, a modified sock approach, since the Passap does circular well. This does sew onto a sole nicely, though - make it as written and add the sole by hand sewing into the sole. One thing you could do with your Passap is sew the knit and then cut and sew the slipper. I don't have a pattern for that, though.
@@dianaknits my passap is an older, single bed machine. I think it's older than double bed kinds, though I'm not sure. I love your patterns and IF they can work on a single bed passap, would you like me to send pictures?
@@Kalina_Kitsune Oh, those are a little rare! I am sure this would work on a Vario Big, for instance, or on any flatbed with no ribber in the way.
@@dianaknits my mother's old passap certainly doesn't have a ribbber and only the one flat bed.

I have purchased the pattern. I have a mid gauge machine, is it best to not use a #4 weight yarn. Do you recommend a DK weight?
The pattern has mid-gauge instructions in it, so whatever gives you the gauge.

Yes, the pattern comes in 12 sizes for standard, mid-gauge and bulky flatbed knitting machines. The smaller sizes are best on the standard and mid-gauge machines.
