    This is the requested voice over video of making a sock on a standard gauge knitting machine with a ribber attachment. I'm using a Brother KH-910 with KR-850E ribber but this will work on anything with two beds.

    I've been machine knitting for years and making socks and I've watched quite a few sock making videos. I wanted to tell you that yours is exceptional! You are very, very clear with your instructions and calm in your movements and your camera work is great. I love the way you do your cuffs for this sock and most importantly, your pattern generator is wonderful! I just found your channel and I'm excited to see what you do next. Its fabulous to see a young person machine knitting!!! You go gurl!

    I had NO IDEA you could do circular knitting on a flat knitting machine with ribber!!! This makes me so happy and excited! Will definitely be trying this once I've gotten the ribber to attach 😊

    1 yr ago and I finally found this video! Can't tell you how many others I watched. You did a beautiful job explaining the steps, and finally , I made my first machine knit sock! Thank you so much!!!😊

    I'm just beginning to learn, using a machine I'm bringing back to life (just awaiting new sponge), and these are definitely going onto my to-do list. Your style is lovely, calm, and very clear. Thank you.

    As in your previous video making socks with your KH910/KR850 ( great machines I have the same models) when you reach the toe, just short row like you did with the heel, then there is no need to decrease while forming the toe, take off with waste yarn and kitchener closed 😀

    thanks you saved me a trip to Ravelry asking about short rowing heels while circular knitting on Japanese double beds. I intuited to drop the ribber bed and change out the ribber arm with the sinker plate and that's what you did here. I did make socks before though on the Superba/White 1602 and that needed no changing of sinker plate because they simply don't have one :) But I did drop the bed for them.

    Lovely and much easier than hand knitting. ❤️

  • @vutEwa

    Oh, by the way, consider short rowing where you bring out the first needle on each pass, this way you don't have to wrap any stitches. :) It works great. Auto-wraps itself. Diana Sullivan brought this technique to my mind as that's what she does all the time. Same thing with The Answer Lady Knits (Katherine).

      You still have to wrap when going back up again, so 6 of one I guess. You do you, Boo.

    Can't tell you how much I appreciate the engineering mind with the calculators built into your patterns on your website. However, just wanted to let you know that the RC numbers do not change according to rows per inch. I was trying to adjust for my bulky machine and had to manually calculate those. Thanks for the video and the website. Looking forward to trying more of your patterns.

    I use a brother 836 standard gauge, followed your instructions, dropped the ribber one notch but still ended up the end main bed needles are ridiculously stretched - might you know why? I took photos but don't know how to upload them, sorry.

    do you think one could make a circular sweater on a knitting machine? the under arm decreases are the problem... I guess one could only work the front and put the back om standby and viceversa... 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Hi there. Have you any idea why every time I knit this sock I get a hole either side of the heel? I'm definitely wrapping the needle in hold on every row!

    • @KnitFactoryImpl
      @KnitFactoryImpl  11 месяцев назад +1

      There could be a lot of reasons. Have you blocked your socks yet? Sometimes stitches get stretched out and blocking can help.

    • @mikeytmpmikey
      @mikeytmpmikey 5 месяцев назад

      I had the same issue, it happens when you dont wrap the thread around the first needle when you're doing the decreases. Look closely at how she wraps and copy.

    Brilliant thank you. Can I ask about your knitting machine is that AYAB on a kh910 if so is it good?

    • @KnitFactoryImpl
      @KnitFactoryImpl  2 года назад

      Yes, I'm using a Brother 910 with AYAB. It does most of what I need it to do but the sensors on my machine have some issues that I had to work around in the firmware. I'm an engineer so half of the joy of this hobby is working with the software.
      There are, however, plenty of non-technical people who get along fine with AYAB. Check out the Facebook group if you're interested.

      The yarn for this sock came from a local yarn store and the waste yarn is just basic unmercerized cotton.
