    That first set of metal glasses to sell them for $49 you will need to spray paint the glass carrier other wise that's kinda expensive, especially with the ones that have wear on the bottom

    OH MY GOSH!!!!! What an amazing haul!!! The items you found were great, and many of them difficult to find "in the wild" these days.Thank you for sharing. It is so fun to stumble across a family-run estate sale where they don't know (or care?) about the monetary value of the items they need to move. I will look for your "part 2" video but notice that this one is over 4 years old so you may not be doing this any more??

    Love the peach S&P shakers. I have an idea on the plates that you might donate, start collecting them in a different patterns and rent them to people having weddings or parties. Or you can sell them all off in a lot to people planning their wedding or anniversary with the option that they return undamaged plates to get some of their ,money back. There is a need for different pretty dinner and desert plates for events. They make the party more interesting and guess just love seeing who got what plate. Having a shabby chic wedding is in fashion. The couple could let everyone take their plate home as a gift for attending their event. Just make sure the plates are intended for food usage. Also tea cups with saucer could be marketed in the same way since people do have coffee, tea and hot choc. All so vases can be rented out too or center pieces.

      @RealNiftyVintage  6 лет назад +2

      That sounds lovely, like a boutique tea room! That would be a great idea...for someone else, lol. I have no desire to be in the wedding industry!! Let alone the "rental" industry. I'd lend them for a Greek wedding and get a pile of shards back. I'm just kidding, lol. Thanks for watching!

    Yeah....good stuff! I love the aluminum tumblers. I have a scar on my chest because of one of those! Story is....I was about 8 years old in the early 1970's and I was chasing a cat and fell down a set of basement steps....tumbler in my hands! I don't remember it very well but the story comes up about once every 3 years at the Christmas dinner table! Good job flipping that green wash stand!

    The round aluminum 'steamer' was called a 'bun warmer', used to reheat buns and rolls and sometimes brought to the table for dinner. You could use steam heat or, close the vents on the lid for dry heating.

    Awesome finds! I once sold a recliner for $75.00 that was at my mall that another vendor was selling for $10.00!!! It looked new! Didn't have to haul or even move it! Just retagged it! I also had a small kids chair in my cart at a thrift store and was thinking I wasn't going to get it and a lady offered me $10! So I sold something that wasn't even mine!! LOL Don't redonate the dishes. Put them in your booth. People love dishes in my mall, even a mish mash set. I remember Coast soap when I was a kid. It is nice to find older things in such nice condition! People back then took care of their things unlike nowadays! TFS!

    • @RealNiftyVintage
      @RealNiftyVintage  6 лет назад +2

      I remember that story now (i think from the podcast)! Well, the odd part of what happened was I was selling a FREE piece of furniture in front of the owners husband! It's kind of like this; the owner of your $10 recliner stood there RIGHT AFTER you paid $10 for it and watched you sell it for $75 within 2 mins. I think I will plop those dishes in the booth, didn't really think of it. Thanks for watching!

    Wow Jeffrey - you hit the jackpot with that estate sale and made cash money to boot. The green cabinet is a washstand which was used in the bedroom to hold a wash bowl and pitcher set. Probably from the early 1900's. The aluminum tumblers are great. especially the set with the carrier. And unbelievable that the crock was $3.00. Really a super super estate sale. Does't happen very often. Will be waiting to see part two. David

    Reminds me of a time at GW that I saw and wanted a small cabinet like this and walked to the front to reserve it . The cashier said just pull the ticket off and when you cash out you can pick it up in the back . Making my way back to the furniture the piece was gone(in like 2 minutes !) Someone else pulled the ticket and another employee already brought it to the back for pickup. Just shows you can't snooze or hesitate ! ! ! SIT ON THE THING IF YA HAVE TO TO MAKE IT YOURS 😋 Love your channel 💖Gonna watch Ann's channel now another favorite ✌

    The beaded 'coin purse' is actually a cigerette case for 120 length smokes, I use to have one. When I bought my cottage from an older couple in their 80's I have 2 of those percolates they left in the cabinet, good for making coffee on a campfire. I can't believe the price on that crock, we sold one at mom's estate sale for $50.00 I plan going to a couple of estate sales next month, I seen online at one a sewing machine I want, even though I have two that I use. I think that ash tray is a 'candy dish'. Heck yeah on that green cabinet, many ppl would've taken that & painted it shabby chic, and resold it for big bucks, you hit the jack pot on that one!

    what year range does the JAPAN marking indicate?

    • @RealNiftyVintage
      @RealNiftyVintage  5 лет назад +1

      That's an interesting question without an exact answer.. it seems to cut off around the early '70s. By the 1970s we started importing drastically more from Taiwan, Korea and eventually China. I should also say that if it says Japan, the EARLIEST date it could be is 1891 due to a law passed that states that all imported items must have country of origin stamped on them.

    Hi. I enjoyed seeing your finds. You got a lot of items and at such good prices! I would have thought that the aluminum steamer was a bun warmer? My family collects them and provides them to our young family members as they get houses of their own. Kind of a joke. : ) I had to wash percolators a lot as a kid, and it appears that the big one is complete. I also think that the long beaded coin purse is a sunglass or eye glasses case. I remember seeing people using them that way in the 1970's-1980's. That's a great deal on the crock. Good luck shopping this week!

    What a fantastic haul! Especially what you got at the estate sale. What a profitable day that was! :)

    The item that you called a change purse would be handier as an eyeglass case, Don't you think?

      Well, We are JUST warming up temperature-wise so the local sales are picking back up sporadically. I know what you mean with scarce thrifts though. Thanks for watching!

    The small beaded "clutch" as you referred to it as,is actually a sunglass case or cigarette case. Not trying to be rude,just wanted you to know.

    Wow, cool sale and you cannot beat those prices! I sold a #3 crock for $65 a few weeks ago, but I did Not get it for $3 -- yay for you! I'm going to what the seller says is a real good kitsch sale this weekend but I can guarantee you the prices will be tons higher than at your sale (am in L.A. area). Thanks for vid :)

    Interesting story on your green cabinet. Worked out well for you but could have been some drama involved if the man had not been so nice. When I find an item like that I go ahead and load it immediately because I don't like drama.

    Wonderful haul sounds like a great estate sale we do not have them in Australia

    • @RealNiftyVintage

      I'm surprised! I know that (the whole of Australia) tends to auction off the houses instead of listing them with an agent for sale. How about the contents inside? Auctions only? Thanks for watching!

    • @imrbaird
      @imrbaird 6 лет назад

      No that is what the TV shows make you think. Houses prices here are really high. Only the really big houses or in affluent close to the city suburbs go for Auction. Most houses are listed for private sale with agents.. People have garage sales but not a lot. Lots sell on Gumtree or just have a local council pick up and leave it out the front of their houses when they move. But really a lot take most of the items with them. If a family member moves into a retirement home they downsize and lot of it ends up at the thrift stores which is where I find it all.
