- Freezing Cold at Bridlington Harbour and Bridlington South Beach. Beautiful, iconic Bridlington New Year 2025.
Snow is forecast at Bridlington and the temperature is below freezing, with a realfeel temperature of -11C
Storm waves pound the low earth cliffs in Bridlington Bay, where glacial fill deposits are being eroded and washed at to sea.
Ice ages have come and gone at Bridlington- while the much harder chalk rocks of Flamborough Head remain prominent in the landscape.
I walk along Bridlington Harbour to the end of Bridlington north pier. Tremendous waves crest over 20 feet high on the sea horizon- while Bridlington’s lobster fishing fleet largely remain safely moored at Bridlington Fish terminal on Bridlington south pier.
A low winter sun shines brightly over Bridlington with Bridlington Crane Wharf silhouetted in the foreground.
The beautiful white cliffs of Flamborough Head are fully illuminated in the low sun of winter.
The Vikings tried to cut through the chalk cliffs of Flamborough Head and it’s shown in this video.
A severe weather warning was issued with the tabloid press telling people to stay inside for the next three days.
Naturally we set off on the 70 mile journey to Bridlington and had a great day out - there was a bit of ice though at the end of Bridlington North Pier - hopefully the press and news channels won’t get to hear of this or it could allegedly lead to the evacuation of the East Yorkshire coast to a safe place - such as Italy. /s
Hope you enjoy my first video of Bridlington in 2025 - in the series recording Bridlington for posterity.
