If anyone can help with this. It works for me when i add the add the apostrophe. But when i preformat the cells to text it still puts the numbers in as scientific values. If anyone can help with this that would be great. Edit. Never mind. Figured it out. apparently whatever i was copying from was changing the format back to general instead of text. When i copied the data from another location it worked okay.
I'm working with 13 digit barcodes. Nothing longer than 13 digits. Excel changed them all so that now they have 14 digits, the last 9 of which are all zero...
Yes I was just wondering if somewhere someone has just lost a whole bunch of important date because of this. I used to work as an import clerk and I was lucky this didn't chew up my serial numbers to be honest.

If formatted as text it gives you that weird decimal + abbreviation. How are you getting it to show you just the number?
