I do one spray of the dior elixir under my shirt and it doesn’t seem as strong as its reputation is that normal?
Blind buy to replace my sauvage edt. I didn't like the ultra freshness of the edt as I thought it wasn't as masculine as I wanted it. This is the best sauvage, and dare I say, best fragrance I have ever used.

Agreed. Blind bought it (never had a sauvage fragrance since I was a ysl y fan) and have loved it sense. Its so mysteriously masculine let subtly sweet to my nose so I wear it a lot when I’m wearing all black or going for that vibe. 2 sprays get me through a whole day and night

I sprayed a single spray on my shirt and 3 washes later I still smell a hint of it. Absolutely insane how concentrated it is which is great because it’s so expensive.
Yeah they were definitely not holding back with this one!

I bought elixir without much expectations only for it to go on and become my most complimented fragrance and still is today. Easily beating everything in my collection including creeds.
Sadly the scent has changed and it's not as strong as it was initially.
I have used up about 10 bottles from 2021 so i can very reliably compare it to the current batches.
It was released 2021 autumn, my earliest bottle that will always stay in the collection and barely get used is 1D, so 2021 april, possibly the first ever batch.
I have not heard of any reformulations and currently dont see a need for them to do so unless some ingredient in there gets banned
Solid fragrance, wife loves it better than Original. There’s something magic on the dry down that smells even better on my skin . 2 sprays and your golden .(3 if going out at night but I usually still use 2)
Absolutely. Strong and smells very good!
When that single lavender note in the middle comes out, I can confidently say that it smells the best in the world for an hour.
I feel like it’s one of the most versatile flankers of all time since it got so many different scents in it that you can adapt to the occasssion. I mean it was afterall the reason why I bought it.
Thats fair, sometimes it can be a bit strong for some situations however. But the pressure control atomizer makes it perfect for controlling that 👌

My bottle is from November 2022 and I have no issues with projection or performance. I can't see this having a reformulation even in 2023. I suspect people are just becoming noseblind because of how powerful it is
That's most likely true. It wouldn't reformulate for no reason, but then again, sauvage doesn't have a good hostory with it, so i understand peoples concerns
48 hours in, 3 showers with soap... my skin is still holding the Elixir heavy. I enjoy the smell but guhdamn!

I know it wasnt officially stated anywhere about a reformulation, but i tested a march 2023 batch and a december 2022 batch side by side (from testers) and the results are as follows: while the scent was the same, there was a significant difference in performance. The 2022 batch lasted 23 hours on my arm, while the 2023 on the other arm lasted around 5 hours. So i cant say 100% that there has been a reformulation, but those results mean something IMO

@@ChadSecrets yes, maceration can explain the 23 hours of performance. But the problematic thing is the fact the 2023 batch lasted barely 5 hours. I would like to think that maybe the tester was damaged (been too much in the heat or something) but i cant take any risks so i think i will get a back up bottle of the 2021-2022 batches. Cant ignore the findings Lol because 5 hours is very toned down for sauvage elixir
@@ChadSecrets by the way, this is the thing i really hate about the fragrance game. Sometimes it feels like a roulette. I had the same thing with 1 million parfum. Tested the fragrance 2 times in 2 different stores and it was amazing and laster extremely long on my skin. Bought a bottle and suddenly not only that it doesnt last so long, but it also changes its scent into a more metalic note after 2 hours. And i bought it in a very known and big brand store so extremely low chances of it being fake. Makes you worry about buying a fragrance already
Yeah I understand how you feel. I have had this happen to me with a variety of different fragrances over my times. I will look into this reformulation and see if I find the same findings. Thank you for bringing it to our attention!
You lying. Nothing edp lasts 23 hours on skin. Maybe 12 hours tops
One of my favourite aftershaves But the smell on the new bottle is very weak and only last for about 30 minutes,
I’ve seen many reviews with the same complaint and Dior do not accept any responsibility and have a no return policy even if there is something wrong with the product, avoid buying it unless you want to waste your money,

I called Dior but they wasn’t interested so took it back to boots pharmacy they tested it against the one they had on display and agreed it was forty, because of the way I was treated by Dior I will never buy another one of there products
Just got 2 60ml bottles for $150! Sealed in box, maybe stolen but couldn’t pass on that deal

I personally prefer sauvage edp over the rest of the line, but the edt is not bad nor is the parfum. I'm not sure about the elixir, yet i haven't developed acquired the taste for it yet.
The elixir is different from all of them doesnt even relate to the dna. I prefer this smell over the sauvage dna but the edp is also very nice. I will go in deoth with the edp to test performance very soon!
elixir is the king of clubbing / party fragrances for guys 21 and up. cuts through anything and you will get noticed.

Let’s fast forward to 2024. I’m I the only person that thinks the performance is weak on this fragrance? Did they reformulate this fragrance? Because I don’t get that long lasting, lighting up the whole room you guys talking about.
Damn this is my fear. Dropping all that money and not getting the desired performance. Reformulations are a pain 😢

This stuff packs a punch BUT I wouldn't be able to smell it at this moment. I couldn't even smell my Gucci Guilty Absolute today. Hopefully we'll meet next weekend.

Why are scents reformulated to deteriorate performance? Every scent goes through this cycle but why? By the time I learn about a bomb ass fragrance, it stops being a good performer

I kid you not I got 20 hours with this beast. Probably my most longest, lasting perfume in my collection.
It's an absolute beast for sure. Survives even washing clothes

Ever since I got an Elixir sample, I’ve been telling myself to go to a fragrance store and get it, it’s been MONTHS and I still haven’t gone to go get it 😂. I even bought my dream car (2023 Challenger 345 R/T BlackTop 5.7 Hemi Last Call Edition) and still haven’t gotten the Elixir 😂

I´m a bit disapointed, I bought the Sauvage Elixir this week, and let me tell you this: It´s not as potent as it used to be. NOT AT ALL!!! My decant from last year was about 50% stronger and clearly, it projected more. And no, it is not a fake bottle, paid almost 200 euros for it. Smell wise, Elixir is still a very nice scent, just remember, you don´t get that nuclear projection and power anymore. It´s more subtle now. That´s my experience with Elixir. Now, it is more wearable even in the office environment, which can be also positive.
Your decanr probably had more time to mature. To my knowledge there has not been a reformulation yet

It all depends on taste. If you are asking my opinion, i dont think this is a unisex offering, and I think it's a masculine smell. However, if the woman likes this fragrance and it boots her confidence to wear it, then all the power to her!

I can smell it after maybe 12 hours but its weak, and i think nobody's can smell it except me. Is it true that parfume need some time after opening box to get maximal performance ?

I habe both : 60 ml and 100 ml bottles have the same formulation.
@etpourtant7512 Yeah, the bottle size doesn't affect scent profile. Batches are made and distributed speratly to bottles, so only thing that would affect it is the batch number.
Dont waste your money on this. It smells exactly the same as Drakkar Noir.

Did not try the sauvage edt, however the elixir is not my favourite smell. It doesnt suite my skin. Smells bad specially when I sweat.
It's has very crazy performance and not meant for situations where you would be sweating

For some reason some batches of it make me reek of bo wherever I spray it on my skin so I cant trust it enough tbh
This is a very common faked fragrance. Make sure your smelling the real one and not a fake. I find sometimes the testers at stores even have spoiled juice

i use sauvage EDT since 2013 almost daily. i can barely smell it on myself but i always get compliments from women, sometime i only spray 1 puff, if more people look to me weirdly mybe bcoz i live in hot weather country. btw im scare to try elixir coz i dont want people look at me as guy that wear strong fragrance LoL
Elixir is very strong. A lot stronger than I thought when i first tested it. I go noseblind to most Sauvage fragrances very quick!

It wouldn't affect it, really. However, because of its scent profile, i would not suggest wearing it in summer. When mixed with higher heat, it could be a bit strong for those around you. Best suited for colder weather
It will. I live in a tropical country where it’s usually hot & humid. I placed 3 sprays & within 3 hours I could not smell it anymore on my skin. The longevity on clothes is much longer though. Projection is just average to moderate, for me… I even heard about other people developing “nose blindness” with it.

I will also add that it depends on your environment and the circumstances. For example, if you are outside or in a more open space then i wouldnt suggest using it at the peak of the summer. Specially not on the beach. However, if you are like me and spending most of the day at the office with a very strong air conditioning that makes the entire office cool and chill, then i would say you can use it

This is their worst. It smells like old, old man. I'm 30. Don't wanna smell 80. Love how long it lasts & how powerful one spray is. Wish the EDT was like that. Have to do 5 sprays of that every 5 hours.
Definitely doesn't smell like old man lol. It's very modern masculine. This is how I remember the edt being when it came out 😅 I do prefer the smell of the edt, but its performance is no longer beastly

It is refined....great with a blazer, tux, leather. Wear half a spray for less formality.

This is a lot more masculine, and i would definitely not suggest blind buying. Go to your local retail shop and sample it first to see if you like!!

@@rogerbrown240 You're good I have a 2L02 (Nov 2022) Batch and its NUCLEAR. I get 12+ hours all day long on my skin. I even sprayed it on a random card as well before I left work and my room still had a strong smell when I get home. You will go nose blind to this however
