Come on ladies we have no option but to continues hundreds of humans could not wake up today due to COVID or other health problems and we’re here complaining about being alive, I don’t know your situation but I guess not being in Prission or kidnapped it’s a blessing. Greetings
I am too, and honestly songs like this bring you down a bit but the message behind it is too damn powerful, you'll make it through if you haven't already, you're not alone
I remember my ex leaving me for my best friend and listening to this song on repeat for days afterward. If it weren't for her leaving me though I'dve never met my fiancé. Looking back on it, I'm thankful things happened the way they did.
It’s crazy, I’m 19, in the military, I enjoy rap music a lot but being from Texas I always get in a mood and just listen to country and George strait always knows what to say. Brings tears to my eyes sometimes
Can't we all just agree that we're listening to a great song and not insult one another. I think this song is saying that there is always someone who's got a rough story behind them and they feel like the entire world is against them and the last thing they need is a RUclips subscriber negating something they said from the heart. Everyone, no matter how bad it looks, it's gonna get better. Sometimes though, YOU have to make that happen. God bless everyone, even those who don't like my post.
Here's something I just thought of. Maybe it would help. How about making phone calls to your local County Music radio station and requesting they play more Classic County music? What do you think about that? Couldn't hurt right?
When the last line comes, it chills my back. "Thanks for everything", everthing in this world can have many different side from many different point of view, and George Strait choose the grateful attitude to look upon all this. This is one of the classic ever.
Strait can rip your heart out one min then make ya wanna party the next. No one will ever duplicate his longevity or his relevance for that length of longevity
"He said 'That one bedroom apartment, where I get my mail... is really not a home, it's more like a jail. With a swimming pool, and a parking lot view... Man, it's just great.'" That last lyric always gets me. The absolute bitterness in such a simple statement.
Im a big fan of George Strait...been listening to george for 3 years nw and memorized all his songs....And 'Im from Singapore....Country music is virtually unheard of here, where rap rock and rnb is prevalent....Thankfully I stumbled across George one day, and the rest, like they say, is history
Country music can be so relatable sometimes, no matter where you're from or where you live. Country people seem to have a profound understanding of human life, human emotion and the big picture.
“It’s really not a home, it’s more like a jail with a swimming pool” as a person who can rarely leave my house due to multiple illnesses, this hit me a different type of way
Same for me, except I can’t ever leave due to finances... barely have enough money to pay rent, never enough money to leave. It’s definitely a jail with a pool and parking lot view.
Always loved this song on George's Top Songs Albums. Remember listening to it in happier times when I was younger (and still married). But I enjoy it even more having been through sad times. Great performer that Mr. Strait. No one else could sing it this well.
No, always wanted to, used to work George Jones and Conway's shows when they camme to town, however, never had the chance to see my favorite; George Strait,
Mr. strait, I am one of your most devoted fans. I saw you in concert in Charleston w.v. about 11.years ago. you are my very very favorite singer.,and you always will be. I admire you and your family so much. I felt so lucky, and still do that I was able to see you in person. have you ever given any thought to making a gospel album and recording on the wings of a snow white dove? I know this would sound so spectacular with your beautiful voice singing it. thank you for listening. your friend in w.v., linda
Why did u drag me around to leave like this. I'm certain you haven't changed. But how would I know. I'm not the girl you come to anymorre. Your new supply has you occupied. It hurts so much. Thanks
Sadly this song hits like a biography. Life changes drastically after any type of loss. Seems I've become the old man in the mirror . Life takes forever as a kid but flies too fast as an adult.
Hearing ANY George Strait song is enough to stir up emotion in me nowadays. My mother, God rest her, had the biggest crush on this man when I was growing up. Her FAVORITE country singer. She used to always joke about how he was the only man on earth she'd have ever left my father for, any time she saw him on TV. 😂❤
George is not the king of country the true king of country is Johnny Cash and thats because everyone knew who he was even till this day people know who Johnny Cash was no one really knows who George Strait
This is why King George is the best damn singer to ever damn sing by god...Every one of his songs hits home...he's been my all time favorite since i was little my ole man use to play em all thet ime and still does! love every song of his
@George Strait I never felt you took your fans, especially me, for granted. Thank you for the lyrics, your beautiful voice and the best band. Since my health issues sat me down in this dam chair listening to music has helped me get through many lonely hours.

This song is about a man that put his family above all else. He is beyond desperate, the only thing that mattered 2 him (his marriage) is gone. There is nothing more painful than losing ur true love, much less 2 someone else. He is doing good just 2 exist. No matter how much he try's 2 hate her he can't. That's LOVE! I think we all experience this kind of pain @ least 1 time in our lives. This is an awesome song, but it's so sad. Great job on the video. I think u did a really good job!
I listen to alot of different kinds of music, and so a couple of days ago I listened to maybe one or two George Strait songs as I was in the process of trying to familiarize myself with a bunch of different artists, several of them country guys. And I was like, Hey, this guy seems really cool: he seems like a real gentleman and good guy, and not like the kinda gun club crazies who sometimes kinda wreck the whole country scene, or the weird punks who seem to have taken over large swaths of modern rock & roll.... So anyway, earlier today, I was in the local music shop, and I wasn't really sure what I wanted, so eventually I wandered over (among other places) to the country section and found the George Strait CDs, picked up '50 Number Ones'. The first song: "I Hate Everything". So I was like, Wow, that must be very atypical for him, an anomaly. So I got some other album by him as part of my CD stack. But now, having actually heard the song, I'm totally not worried about it anymore, lol. It's like, Wow. EVEN WHEN YOU HATE EVERYTHING, YOU'RE STILL SO POLITE. Wow: you are my new best friend. I mean, don't get me wrong, I try to get both newer and older artists in every genre I listen to, (just like I try to balance genres), and actually that's one of the things that annoys me about rock: there's alot of good rock music, in many different sub-genres, but it's noticeably harder to find good younger rockers-- guys who aren't completely crazy, you know. I like guys closer to my own age when I can find them, you know: like I'm gonna have to track down the Hunter Hayes self-titled album by hook or crook, because he's extremely talented, creative and energetic. ("Storm Warning" has got to be one of the best songs ever written by a 20-year-old.) But, wow, George Strait: he's cool. Very cool. He would be like the most excellent mentor: the older guy who can give you advice or just talk to you without being boring or making you feel like you have to patronize him or be more polite than you'd like to be, because he could teach you things from experience without putting on airs and sorta give you adult advice without bullshitting you or being fake and arrogant, or wasting your time with politics or dogma. Strait's the same age as my parents and probably a bunch of my professors: why the hell can't they be cool like him? Just one cool old guy mentor, instead of all these very-old-but-curiously-immature preachers and protesters: evangelicals rebelling against their hippie youths and hippies rebelling against their Catholic childhoods.... and nobody ever learns to just chill out. Just one cool old guy mentor: that would be a big step in the right direction.
Watch the movie Pure Country, but let me say this about that movie. It stars George Strait and the soundtrack to the movie is all his music which is awesome, The storyline to the movie is awesome and pure george the music is awesome and as much as i love george though, he cant act worth a shit but the movie is worth watching for the story line and the music
jeff munson "Pure Country", thanks for the recommendation. And the idea that he can't act doesn't bother me. I watched "Magical Mystery Tour" which had no acting in it to speak of, it was more like a random hour in their lives, maybe slightly fictionalized, but not in a very elaborate way.... and I loved every minute of it. Actually the only thing that would make me not want to see a movie is if the hero is ignorant, violent and stupid, (like most actors like to portray themselves) and none of the musicians I like are like that, so it doesn't bother me so much if they're not good at pretending. So, no, don't feel hesitant, that's a good recommendation.
Yeah, I don't mean everyone who needs a gun for their job, like to keep wolves away from cows or something, but the guys who are like, 'I'm a mean bastard and I'm proud of that.' Obviously you could get that from either urban or rural people. I just sorta thought that since I was liking this country song, it would be clear that I'm not prejudiced against everyone who raises livestock or something.... The point I remember trying to make is that it's good when artists help us overcome the bad archetypes that some people feed and help us exercise the good in us-- better, healthier stuff. Regardless of the geography or whatever.
I'm 15 and I love this song. This song was playing in my head all day at school today. I don't know if it's because I'm addicted to George Strait or because I can relate to almost everything in this song 🤣
made me so sad reading this comment. u have to forget about the bad and just not think about it. there's so much about life to love... I don't know your situation but be strong!
You're life is a nightmare because you drink everyday. Trust me, I drank everyday for 30 years. I've been sober for 3 years now. Don't waste your life like I did. Quit now.
bizallin I'm sorry, man. Life is hard. So hard to the point to the point where drinking may be the only thing in your life that makes you feel normal.. I'm currently going through that. I wish you the best of luck. From one alcoholic to another, it's not brighter on the other side and it doesn't get better but alcohol will always be there to make you feel better.
An awsome traditional American Country Music song. Isn't this better than the crap coming out of Nashville these days? Contrast this to the screaming at you, cookie cutter-sound-alike crap of lately. God Bless King George!

ANY song sung by George Strait is country at it's best! - Eric Church
Eric Church is a poser
I listened to this song religiously during my divorce. I am usually into 70's R&B but these new set of country singers are incredible.
"He said 'That one bedroom apartment, where I get my mail... is really not a home, it's more like a jail. With a swimming pool, and a parking lot view... Man, it's just great.'"

jeff munson "Pure Country", thanks for the recommendation.
PaleolithicMind well said...
Yeah thanks for your understanding.... I haven't seen many live events, but it is definitely worth it when it's possible.
This is why i love George Strait! Great country song!
This song about sums up how I have felt for the last few years
I don't listen to country music, but it brings a tear to my eye since it reminds me of my dad before he left.
That's a good song I feel the same way when you every thing you got to make the person happy yet not enough the world is cruel but yet never give up
I'm 15 and I love this song. This song was playing in my head all day at school today. I don't know if it's because I'm addicted to George Strait or because I can relate to almost everything in this song 🤣
Strait is the best.
This song describes exactly how I feel!
Say it more time
This guy is a legend
Life of a single father, who loves his children
Ricky Spanish and mother... I feel the same. :/
some kings have crown only one has a hat
That's a good one! I'll be borrowing it.

Best of country music he’s the king 🤴
He ain’t the only king in this sick sad world Bo, there kings and queens in cowboy hats everywhere🇺🇸
Best of country music only one has a cowboy hat
I love everything about this song. Deep stuff but his depressing story Saved a marriage! True Story ❤️❤️❤️
Me sitting in the stool next to him: Gooood. Your hate has made you strong. Now fulfill your destiny and take your place at my side.
Cause you're supposed to be Satan or something??

This song has been on my mind for a week or two. It popped up on my feed today.
Hello Michelle how are you doing’b
I drink everyday, my life is a nightmare..man this song hits home.
Agreed!! Drinking makes the pain a little lighter
made me so sad reading this comment. u have to forget about the bad and just not think about it. there's so much about life to love... I don't know your situation but be strong!
bizallin the drinks make it a bit lighter of a load
You're life is a nightmare because you drink everyday. Trust me, I drank everyday for 30 years. I've been sober for 3 years now. Don't waste your life like I did. Quit now.
bizallin I'm sorry, man. Life is hard. So hard to the point to the point where drinking may be the only thing in your life that makes you feel normal.. I'm currently going through that. I wish you the best of luck. From one alcoholic to another, it's not brighter on the other side and it doesn't get better but alcohol will always be there to make you feel better.
I know I'll get over it eventually like the ones before, but I come back to this song after every breakup and it always gets me.
An awsome traditional American Country Music song. Isn't this better than the crap coming out of Nashville these days? Contrast this to the screaming at you, cookie cutter-sound-alike crap of lately. God Bless King George!
Goodnight I love you sweet dreams only if your in them and God bless you and STAY SAFE and Jesus loves you more than you think and you are awesome the best in the world and thank you for bringing back I cross my heart and I would like to hear I saw God to day
This song reminds me of when my wife left me. Words are similiar to what happened to me. Thank you for posting...........
i love that sound
Que barbaro que cancion, mucha veces pensamos mas en nuestro orgullo sin tomar en que las cosas mas importantes se encuentran en nuestra vida es LA FAMILIA. GOD BLESS US
