Funny story: before I downloaded FFC, I made a sprite sheet for a character I wanted to make. The thing is, I didn't know that you could only use bitmaps, so I saved them all as PNGs. I then had to manually re-save every. Single. Sprite. I'm in the middle of doing that right now, actually.

The Optimize button worked for me after I changed my sprites image mode from "RGB Color" to "Index Color". You might be able to change this in the image manipulation software that you're using.
Make sure you have the good version of Fighter factory. You should get the same as indicated in the video. It's old, but since the tutorial shows the Classic FF it's better to stick with that for the start.
I couldn't get the pallet to optimize with the sprite I choose. So I tired another and it worked. So if it isn't working for you; just try another sprite.
I'm at 7:51 and I did the thing with saving it a second time, but now it says that the "list index out of bounds(0)". I hope you see this comment soon, because I'm trying to make a fighter for SpriteClub and your videos have been hella helpful.
Me: Okay.. just need to follow the steps, do the coding, add the sprites then i'm done... *sees i need bmp sprites and i only have png sprites* Me: ......You've gotta be kidding me....
In the first video you mentioned that you would tell us how and where top get the sprites... but in this video you already have the sprites... so it is pretty difficult (for me impossible) to follow this tutorial since I don't have any sprites.

Maybe is in first video, but heres help: When you have 1x1, click on tool. Then click on last menu and you can edit this. I had a problem with that. But I test it. Good luck.

you mean Standard Palette order ? if so i put it like you 1,2,3,4,5 if not that what your talking about, can you tell me where is the time you talked about that in the video ? please
+Vegeta 99999 No. I mean when you add sprites into your character's .sff file; you need to put a group number. At 8:35 i make the group number 1. If you keep it as 0, then your sprites will look weird and that message pops up. You can number your group of sprites whatever you want, besides 0.
Thanks man it works :D , but i got another problem please help me when i pressed the activate transparency button the background did not removed, also my background color was blue i take out the blue color from the Palettes Edit option after i take out the blue color it turns to pink background, can you help me please ?

I cant seem to remove the background now as I dont have a pallet for the character, when I click optimize no colors show. Is anyone else having this problem, also if I try to add a sprite a error called "stream read error" occurred. Am I missing something?? @Minecraft Nostalgic Videos I was asking how did the engine know which color is the background, so they could cut it out. But then I found out it’s the first color in the pallets.
So i am making a character from scratch and this really helped, i couldn't even figure out how to make a character file before i watched the series.

You can turn ur png files into bmp files by using paint
@@kerm0723 There is also online converters for bmp. This is especially convenient if you have overwhelming amount of character sprites.
But be careful, I broke some sprites using these programs so I would recommend doing that process manually

And one tip in the palette. Use mix pallette and then repair your backround, because mix pallette will change your backround. Its only a tip.

are you trying to open an already made character? because some characters you can only open in fighter factory ultimate.
