Just wish this form of cycle touring had been available in the 1960's, because I would have done it then. However its on my bucket list and although I am 75 I can still dream and watch this video. Well done both of you.
My grandpa was still riding his Bike( E-Bike) with 83 on mountain passes in the alps. Our neighboor is 96 and she still rides down the hill in my hometown.
Eric Watson sir, Google "Fauja Singh" and get inspired sir. I also plan to go on adventures when I retire. Hope to see you live your dreams. All the best sir. ^.^
Did this same journey earlier this year on a Royal Enfield Classic 500 from Manali to Leh and then over khardung la to Nubra Valley and then all the back. One of the best experiences of my life. Beauty on a scale I could hardly imagine. Huge respect for doing it on bicycles.
Bro!! On a bike it is normal. I too had a journey on a Enfield classic 350, but a huge round of applause to these guys for completing the journey on a bicycle!! Seriously, I cannot imagine myself riding on a bicycle at khardungla
I completed ride upto Taglangla due to bad weather skipped Leh and also opted out Khardungla. But yes I met two Germans on MTB with 30 kg load on bike. These two riding with bags on is mind-blowing it's next to impossible to ride with bags on.
Absolutely fantastic. I loved every bit of this video. Having been to Leh, I couldn't help but notice and laugh when you clinked oxygen cans. Hats off to you guys!
Thanks to you the two crazy wanderers on the highest roads and Also for the artful video capture . Enjoyed the thrills and excitements of the breathtaking experience without the being “puffed out”
I love bike riding but could not able to go for long rides. It's my wish one day I visited Leh Ladakh. I respect for true rider's but my respect for u is one step ahead. Keep it up.
Not the rapes, Not the politics, Not the poverty, Not the mediocrity, This is India, This is my country. India is beautiful. Amazing job with the camera mate! you really inspired me ride my bike through the himalayas some day!
Among all the aspiring bikers and western riders in Himalayas, these 2 are the best ever....unlike other littering lazy drunk tourist these 2 are Ecofriendly and helping nature coexist....Thnk you both...
I went on motorcycle this august and i faced hypoxia at the khardungla top, and on the way i saw a lot of foreign people cycling, really you people are extremely fit. Cheers.. Love from india🇮🇳♥️..
I’m a native choglamsar Leh currently live in the USA. I have been on those high passes 100’s of time. You must visit Leh via by road from manali to Leh. You will see the real paradise on earth.
Amazing. Well done lads. Makes me wish I was young again. I will show this to my 12 year old and tell him this is the type of adventure that makes you a better person...
When every Indian out there is donning the Bullet these days to take a trip to Ladakh, these lads do it on a bike. Amazing feat. Beautiful journey and landscape.
This is an insanely beautiful and inspiring video. To cycle to the top of the world is quite a feat. I am asthmatic and have severe breathing problems even in normal terrain but guess what, I have decided to train myself for this one. If I need to sign off from the world, better do it in style. Thank you. Regards
Hey Zo it's just a matter of acclimatisation, the major town near by Khardungla(the world highest road), is generally used by travelers to acclimatise .... I myself am a chronic asthmatic and have been to that road and beyond 4 times.... And also have trekked beyond 20K...... You need to give your body a bit of time and need to be in a balanced shape with right fat percentage in the body to keep it at minimum fatigue risk..... But definitely doable....
OMG, this film - I am a cyclist and also a mountaineer. I have lived and worked in India, close to the Himalia. I love and cherish those moments in the fellowship of Man. God bless you and keep, for me, you captured the essence of being alive. Let’s hope we see more from you 👍🤜🏽👌✊💪
The best highlight reel of the Manali-Leh highway I've seen, great stuff! My partner and I did the Manali-Leh highway September 2015, topping off at the Khardung La on our last day. Was an incredible experience and made me appreciate being at sea level, headaches constantly, tingles all over from the diamox. The people are wonderful and hearing the encouraging shouts of Julay from passing bikes, cars, trucks and miscellaneous vehicles gave us the encouragement we needed to keep going.
Guys, I just had to watch this once and I'm frickin blown away at not only the amount of physical stress you went through but the fact that you guys took time out of the day to get these GORGEOUS SHOTS! You got yourself another subscriber! I'll spread the word. Awesome video guys!
Laura and Ashley and you couples nailed it. I belong to that part of India where highest motorable road is there. I do cycling, I know how hard cycling in this harsh area, you couples really did great job. Thumbs-up. 👍
After watching this video for the first time years ago and being inspired, me and my girlfriend just completed the Manali-Leh route in 7 days on our bikes. It’s every bit as incredible as this video. And it’s exhausting. Recommend it to anybody who wants an adventure.
so inspirational! I was going to save up money, but this video was my breaking point. I would rather travel and enjoy the nature. thank you so much! this video has brought me to tears. just beautiful!
Your video was inspiration to me. I completed the same trip last year from July 12th to 24th July through YHAI. I completely loved it. Thanks North South Team. Without this video, I wouldn't have completed the Manali - Leh - Khardongala Cycling Expedition.
Dear north south group. I am watching your videos from last 2 years i dont get tired by watching them again and again. Your videos inspired me to buy a bicycle and pursue what i love.
Went there few years ago, spent 18 hours on a cramped jeep from manali to leh. Which was really tiring for us..but its all worth it! Thinking of going there once again in couple years.. maybe on a bike this time.. great video guys! Great place too

I was looking after Tony Anderson music and I found this. Amazing cut with beautiful shots and music. I want to do videos like this in future :-) Greetings from Czech
This takes me back and makes my feet itch for adventure. I did this with my boyfriend in 2013 also Spitti and Zanskar (put bikes on horse) valleys . You have produced a beautiful film. Muzza29 my boyfriend is 57 you don't have to be young
this is one of my favourite videos of all time, seriously guys! extremely motivating! eagerly waiting for new videos, it's been a long time since you've uploaded something.
A standing ovation to this video and to your beautiful incredible endeavour! I've done this route by car... unbelievable you did this arduous route by cycle all the way to India's highest motorable roads!!
beautifully edited and some of the shots you got were phenomenal considering it was just the two of you! The length was just right to watch casually, heck I could go in for a longer video but the pace and soundtrack were on point. It's weird when you get to inhospitable places on our own planet, it really puts into perspective the finite resources we need to flourish and yet humans have been for centuries
I did it just from Leh,on a rental bike...hahahaha 2008 on my honeymoon. Congrats for the video and the nice editing. I love It. Big hug from Basque Country
woooooooooooooooooow . Never saw my country so beautiful !!!! never knew it can made on bicycle !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God be with u on your adventures boys. thumbs up.
WOW!. Amazing video. Very inspiring. I love to cycle in the mountains.( the italian and french alps). This must have been quite an adventure! FANTASTIC.
+Remy Jansen Hi Remy, I plan to cycle in the region of the french and italian alps in 2016. Always good to get the local's opinion, do you have any recommendations of places I should visit? I plan to enter the mountains from the Provence/Cote d'Azure region. Thanks
Great to hear that you are planning to go cycling in France and Italy. I am more fimilar in France. if I have to recommend one, its for sure the mythical mountain Mont Ventoux, with the appropiate nickname "Giant of the Provence". Nearby you also have some short climbs, like the Gorges du Nesque. Last summer I went to Briancon, where I did some nice and though climbs: Col du Izoard, Angel and one of my favourite the Col de la Bonette with. But their are a lot of other beautiful climbs. The great thing about cycling in the Alps (apart of the view) is that everyone feels the same pain during the climb but more important the satisfaction and feeling of pride when reaching the top. Also great is meeting different cyclist from all over the world and hearing their stories. I can’t wait to go to the mountains this summer. Enjoy your trip.
Loved the video guys! I did something similar, rented a mountain bike from Rishikesh and completed Rishikesh-Dehradun-Mussoorie-Dhanaulti-Chamba-Rishikesh circuit in 3 days. Cycling in the mountains is a next level feeling.
Salute to you guyz !! I made it on Enfield 500 from New Delhi to Ladakh in 2010 but after watching your video, it seems like yours was full of energy and fun...Keep rocking man !!
An incredible journey and feat of will and endurance, beautifully shot and produced. Very inspirational stuff and thank you! I've had the good fortune to trek the Himalayas several times (Mera Peak, Tamang Heritage Trail) and can't imagine how hard it would be to cycle at those altitudes! No doubt this has laid some powerful foundations for you both to take into other aspects of your life (including perhaps some restlessness...)! Cheers from Sydney, Dave
Wonderful. These are the kind of videos that inspired me years ago and continues to do so. Thank you for taking us with you. Oh the things I could give to go on journeys like this.
